No experience w/ Cogburn, but his latest protege in his revolving door of associates, Urban, is the worst of a dozen Ive seen. He professes to do (and charges) for Mohs surgery when in fact he just takes a huge first swipe and leaves a very large, unsightly scar. A Mohs procedure is to remove a bit, test, and repeat if necessary. He does not do this, and his laziness will leave you a nice, big scar. But then hell offer to fix what shouldnt have been done in the first place for even more money and pain. There are so many other local places that can do the job for you. And beware of a Dr. Highley-the one who recommended him to me. After I went to see HIM I read in the newspaper about how he made about a million last year on kickbacks from Park Ridge. He got out of that one by letting the hospital take the fall (they were fined 115 million by the federal government). Sheesh.

Do not see Dr. Cogburn. He has a horrible bedside manner. Eother he ded not like me or does not like women....either way he was non informative, resented questions, was disrespectful and did not help with my situation. I had a basal cell......his treatment suggestion was Imiquimod, a topical sort of chemotherapy which did not work and he was rude and made hurtful remarks. I.e. I had a strange looking growth on my lower leg and asked him about it. He said it was harmless but "sure was ugly". Got out this torch thin to burn it off and I declined and never saw him again. He is a real piece of work.

1st after a few years of my face feeling flushed and bronze and many other Dr.visits, I went to Dr Cogburn! He took blood and stopped my HTZ that was an additive on my Lisinipril! Then today my husband had an awful rash and visited another local dermatoligist 2 days ago who basically did not help him at all, came to Dr Cogburn and he immediately knew what to do and now just a few hours later is already not itching as bad!

I have been going to Carolina Mountain Dermatology for years, and I normally see Jay Clarke (Physicians Assistant). I have always been very pleased with the care Ive received, and Jay is very knowledgeable but also kind and compassionate. The staff is always friendly, courteous, and professional as well.
