As I do not know much about the operations of this home, do know that a majority of their staff are smokers (University Area location). I have lived in a neighborhood that shares a street with this place since 2004. In the last 2 years, I believe the campus has passed a no smoking policy and did not provide a place for their employees to smoke. Now, I get to see their employees smoking on a daily basis ( about every hour) right across the street from my home. What kind of message are you sending when you are operating a health care facility and do not care that your employees pollute the surrounding neighborhood. If this company doesnt even care enough to at least project a healthy image to the outside, I dont even want to speculate as to how the care is for the residents inside. Our community has called to try and reslove the issue, and we are met with meaningless responses and more definant employees. I have found at least 2 of their employees smoking and having inappropiate phone conversations on our PRIVATE property. They also leave the cigarette butts on the ground, the same ground that our master association dues go towards maintaining.

This review is is reguards to the employee smoking policy at Brithaven. Over a year ago management implemented no smoking policy on campus and did not provide an area on campus to smoke. The result is the employees, wearing nursing scrubs, loiter along the streets smoking. This has effectively pushed their employees into the public streets and surrounding neighborhoods. Mine is one of four small neighborhoods along Glenwater that are across the street from the facility. Not only do we observe loitering healthcare workers smoking at the entrances to our neighborhoods (even while being observed by groups of employees whome we do not know), we enjoy picking up their trash they leave in the streets and yards. Local management is stedfast in the defense of the policy and quite frankly by not accomidating their employees shows a breathtaking disrespect for the local community. Not to mention a lack of self respect by allowing their employees to stand infront of their "health care" facility in work smocks and smoke.

This is the worst experience Ive had with a rehab center. My mother is a patient there. I took her wheelchair to the rehab to bring her home in it for Thanksgiving. When we took her back, we left her in her own personal wheelchair, foot pedals, pad and all. Somehow, her chair got swapped. Someone took the legs off, which were marked. Her social worker, Lanesha (spelling could be wrong) is the worst social worker I have ever dealt with. Im just glad my mother will be out of there in a few days. I would not suggest this place to anyone. Also, mom is missing some of her clothes. Other than her social worker, I must say the nursing staff was very friendly. The friendly nurses are about the only good thing I have to say about this place. The nursing staff is awesome.

My father passed our experience with this place was horrible from the start but this really shocked me when I called to ask about picking up his belongings I was told that when someone passes they put the belongings in lost and found unless they are picked up by the family. I asked how long does the family have to pick up and they put me on hold and nerver returned. 1 these items are nto lost they know exactly who they belong to. So sounds like basically they steal them and if you call to arrange to pick things up they seem shockd I mean really. Wow they also do not have voice mail and only 2 people in charge sounds gangster and like a joke.

As an employee who worked very hard for this short staffed facility its a dump In order to get good quality care you first must have good employees Patients are molested, nurses taking their medications , the director of nursing does not respect any of her employees , the administrator has no backbone no voice patients constantly leaves due to lack of care and employees I myself got sick and was denied my benefits i worked hard for them to get The nursing home needs to be shut down Asap

This facility is horrible. My dad is there he has butt sores, foot sores. Not feeding him treat him bad. The nurses attitudes suck

They dont take care of your people they end up getting sores we had to take a family member to ICU his blood sugar was 400
