Very disappointed. My father in law was placed in here. He is a high fall risk. He kept falling out of the bed. The doctor wrote a order for him to sleep on matts. This is where he spent most of his time, on the floor. He is also partial amputee. They proceeded to tell us about a week before his benefits were used up that they had a care plan meeting and they couldnt keep him long term because they couldnt accommodate his sleeping habits. Really, they created the sleeping habits. He was in short term rehab prior and he slept in the bed and ate in the dining area. I found one special person that really seems to care about the family . She really helped us. We have since transferred him out. Alot of these places tell you what you want to hear until they get your loved ones in there, than its all about getting paid. What happened to the patient first?

Although no one wants to be in a rehab facility, I was VERY satisfied with my experience at Ocean View. I was taken in when the rooms were almost all full and felt lucky to get a bed in a center near my home. The staff was amazingly kind and capable. They treated me with respect and did many things to make me feel comfortable. The care I got was exceptional. The nurses listened to my concerns and recognized my needs. The assistances were receptive to my requests and did many things to make me live days in comfort. The physical therapy staff worked with me to help me regain strength and deal with my physical limitations due to my accident. I would recommend Ocean View as a wonderful place to deal with rehabbing after an accident or surgery. Kind people doing kind things to help others!

My Mothers experience was not very good in my eyes. Her room was dirty from the time she got there. She (My Mother) said they finally swept the floor the day I took her home. I believe staff members need to be retrained. Read policies regarding protocols, from the beginning. One evening they brought her dinner tray with only 1 little chicken leg with a small ceaser salad and a half an orange. My 4 yr old grand daughter eats more than that. My mother asked for a grilled cheese sandwich and they did not bring it til the next morning. This is very unexceptable. My Mother was only there for 5 days because the Humana rep said did did not need rehab. After being in the hospital for CHF. Needless to say I would never let Oceanview care for anyone in my family again. Not even a hated in-law.

This facility has been amazing for my Grandfather. After a few years at a home in Orlando (Metro West), I asked him to move over closer to me as I lived in New Smyrna Beach. The staff here has been amazing, the years he was living there! He recently passed, and I just cannot say enough great things about how helpful the staff was. They always looked you in the eye, anticipated helping you, and took great care of him. At the other home in Orlando, staff would avoid you for fear you would ask them to do something. Here, staff would simply overhear your possible need and already be taking action without you having to ask!!! Amazing difference!

My father was there for 5 weeks and the staff was amazing from the time you walked in the building until we left to go home. Very caring and thoughtful.
