I had been dealing with two very painful abscesses for over a year. My regular dentist is wonderful, but unfortunately does not do root canals or extractions. I have dental insurance, but still couldnt afford to see a surgeon or endodontist. After being awake for almost forty eight hours from pain I searched for a family dental office that provided extractions and root canals in office, and came across Coastal Smiles Family Dentistry. They were able to get me in the same day I called. The dentist did an exam, took some xrays, and then decided both teeth would have to be removed. I assumed this would have to be done as a separately scheduled procedure, and was relieved when told it would be done at the same visit. He numbed me up with a few shots, and after I was completely numb pulled both teeth in less than five minutes. I thought it was going to be a long and painful procedure, but it wasnt. On top of the ease of getting in to be seen, having everything done same day, and having it all over with quickly I only had to pay $140 after insurance because it was a family dentist, and not a specialist. To see an endodontist would have cost me more just for the consult alone nevermind the cost of the procedure. I only wish I had gone sooner instead of dealing with the pain for as long as I had.

I went to the other office they have in Masonboro because it is closer to where I work. The staff from the other office go into our pharmacy all of the time, and I figured because they were next door that I would try them out on my next cleaning. I went to my cleaning and they discovered I had 4 cavities!!! I knew of just 1 that I was supposed to have filled at another Dentist (Treman and Treman) that was downtown Wilmington, but I decided to switch so that I could just go to this one after I get off of work. To my surprise it was alot cheaper here... the cost of filling all 4 of my cavities was the cost of just filling 1 that I was quoted over at Treman & Treman. Compared to Treman & Treman I feel that their equipment and all of their patient rooms were all modern. Coastal Smiles front office is newer and feels a bit more modern. But overall experience I felt more welcomed at Coastal Smiles by all of the ladys in the front office. Perhaps this should be left out of the review, but the tanned blonde that sits at the check in reception seat... shes a little chili pepper... she also ran my bill and charged my FSA at the end of my 2nd visit... I kinda wish I was allowed to leave a tip for her, because she deserves one.

Great office - they are kind, professional, and get you in and out quickly. On my first visit, there was a small issue where the receptionist took my ID to scan and forgot to give it back. I called the following day when I realized this (a day when nobody was in that office) and one of the employees went out of her way to come meet me and return it. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and was able to accommodate my walk in for a sensitive tooth. Dr. Collin Le was phenomenal at explaining my X-ray and provided his expert diagnosis and importantly was able to provide several options for treatments. I would highly recommend his office.

Had a horrible experience dealing with the front desk. They made multiple mistakes accepting payment which they did not know that they did not accept and then were completely dishonest about the situation. If you want an honest, compassionate dental office DO NOT GO HERE!
