I had reconstructive surgery on my right arm in march at OSU. I broke my elbow which had to be replaced with titanium. i tore the tendons in my right forearm and they were repaired as well. screws were place in my arm. after 6 months of constant pain I decided to finally see an orthopedic specialist. I made the wrong decision when I chose to see Dr. Thompson at Adena. I chose adena because its close to home. Dr. Thompson said that it was common to have pain in my arm still since the surgery was only six moths ago. He said an option was to have the screw in my arm removed. I informed him that I did not want to have another surgery. He asked me what I wanted to do? I told him that I was tired of being in pain and asked him if he could prescribe me something for the pain. H esaid he could not which I totally understand. I asked him if he could refer me to a pain clinic. He said "we dont do that here." Though he agreed that it could take over a year for my arm to heal and that having pain was very common, he still came to the conclusion that he could not help me. he could not even point me in the right direction. my options, according to him, were, have another surgery or deal with the pain. there is nothing I or my staff can do for you. I you are having follow up care an orthopedic injury do not choose the adena bone and joint center.

Your practice of double and triple billing is sinful. I have billing from you charging me the full amount and I have my eob showing they paid 8 months earlier. I requested a detailed billing. Upon receipt it shows the insurance payment and the fact that I owe $200.00 instead of over $2500,00. I call back in two weeks for my balance and once again it is the amount without the insurance payment. The lady in billing has no record of insurance payment. The first billing person found it. The itemized bill showed it, but my invoice and the second billing person shows no receipt of it. Oh, I have several more examples of illegal billing and when it takes a period of time for you, or should I say me,to clean up your mess you sent it to collections. Until you did that my credit score was 839. Well guess what...it is not anymore. I am not done with this situation and am trying to inform the public as much as possible because I am sure you never find overpayment mistakes and refund patients their money.

Today Marsha saw Dr. Michael Jones in neurology, he was I felt very rude. She explained why she was there and all he could say was there was nothing he could do, he didnt even examine her. Well, you are correct you cant do anything without examining someone. Then he said she needed gastric bypass instead of exercise. Well I would think you need exercise before doing surgery. When I asked if maybe she had fibromyalgia he said no and I asked could he diagnosis this he said he could not. Well, with everything I had read about this a neurologist would be who you consult for this diagnosis. I like Adena but there are few physicians I believe are just evil. This doctor I would never suggest someone else to see he is rude and disrespectful .

First off let me say this is the first time Ive ever had an issue with Adena period, but the disregard for my safety and nonattention to details was mind blowing! I was a fall risk they continously forgot to set the bed alarm that goes off if u fall out of bed. They knew this was the second time i has been hospitalized for this condition in 2 weeks. The pcas did not do their jobs most of the time. People were rude & I was more worried my family would come find me in worse condition than they dropped me off

The nurses were fantastic, but everything else was fantastically aweful. The rooms were uncomfortably tiny and some didnt even have extra seating for guests. The fire alarm went off when we were there, but no one came to let us know what was going on or what we should do. The fastest service they provided was discharging the patient, which is usually the slowest. Ill never go back willingly, and I would rather be transferred to any other hospital in the state.

I had back surgery in Jan. 2016, my hospital experience was wonderful. The staff was excellent always there when needed. My surgeon Dr. Fleming was always upfront with me on my condition. He never promised me that he was a miracle worker. I als had surgery on my hands with Dr. Ghany he was also excellent. I was never promised to be pain free just the opposite. Doctors are not miracle workers.

This hospital has some of the most selfish, lazy staff. They do not have their patients best interest at heart. For the sake of your health I highly recommend making the drive to Columbus. Adena takes advantage of the fact that they are located in an area where residents are often low income and cannot afford to go out of town for care. Do not let their monopoly be the death of you.

Worried more about paperwork than the patients concern, my relative personally works there and the hospital leaves probably one RN on each floor, leaving it impossible to actually take care of every patients needs. If this is a place youre looking at working in, I wouldnt recommend at all.

The nurses and doctors where wonderful if I have to have another surgery I hope I have it here!, Thank you to everyone in same day surgery that was so kind to me.And a Thank you to Heather from Medtronic for the great device that has changed my life!!!! And the whole staff was great.

I have never in my life has to deal with such an awful medical experience, after spending almost two weeks there every day in and out of doctors appointments we found out that the "doctors" at Adena medical center completely lied to us and risked my husbands life!

Regardng the review of the neurologist: the reason they failed to diagnose for fibromyalgia is because there is no such thing as fibromyalgia. They did you a favor by not giving you a fake diagnosis.

The ER unit was fantastic from check in to check out! We were in and out in 20 mins with a happy 6 yr old boy after a busted chin :)
