I have been to this E.R. a total of half a dozen times for myself, with friends, and accompanying clients of mine. Now that the newly renovated OSU Med Center is expanding to become a massive money-making institution, it is clear (despite everything their tv commercials and ubiquitous advertising posters want you to believe) that patient care is absolutely the lowest possible priority. I can kind of understand some of the wait times in the waiting room (although once youre waiting upwards of 4 or 5 hours, they really need to come up with a better system), but what really kills me about OSU E.R. is the long wait times after they take you in to get treated! After every human encounter, you will be left sitting some where with no acknowledgement at all for at least 40 minutes to 3 hours before the next time someone comes by. THE COMMUNICATION WITH PATIENTS IS INCONCEIVABLY BAD! No one will tell you a thing about what is happening now, what is happening next, when that next thing is likely to happen, etc. Meanwhile, you just sit and watch E.R. staff all day long trot around chatting and joking with their coworkers about pizza in the break room or some funny thing that happened when they tried to start their car this morning or what really interesting place they intend to go this weekend, or some other nonsense. They casually loll about having these light little gab sessions with coworkers just feet away from patients who have been ignored for hours, and if by chance one happens to glance over and meet the patients eye, the staff will immediately look away and very deliberately avoid looking at you until some call takes them out of the area. Eventually you get out of your bed or chair or whatever purgatory they have assigned you to and like many other patients there you wander around until you find a nurse who looks up in your computer and says "They ordered an X-ray (wouldve been nice if somebody told me about that!) and were waiting on transportation". A big part of the reason for these waits is because they have this "transportation team" that is supposed to take every patient to every other part of the E.R that they may need to go (e.g., for x-rays, for EKG...) and there must really be only 1 person on transport to serve the entire hospital, so it takes interminably long for them to get to you (when the stars do align and it becomes your turn to get transported, youll see that they are usually really nice fun people! its a welcome break!). Also, once they get the x-ray or the stress test or whatever result, do not expect anyone to voluntarily find you to discuss the results. You will wait again like a lump while the medical staff enter all the information into their magical computers &send messages to each other about how you will be treated. If they talk with you, it will be in vague and dismissive terms. --- GUARANTEE that your case will get lost between the cracks if you happen to be there past a shift change (3 pm, 11 pm, 7 am)!! No matter how many hours (days?) you are there, no one will mention the idea of getting you something to eat or to drink at all, but they will make darn certain that each of their colleagues gets every single lunch and or snack break that they are due. In the end you will be likely "referred" to somewhere else for care (i.e. the buck will be passed off) that you *thought* you were getting here, but you will be charged as if you received care. Bottom line - if you are forced to go to this E.R. take a level-headed friend or 2 with paper to write things down, and demand that every thing will be explained to you to your full understanding and always always always ask when the next time will be that you will get the next step in your treatment while you are there. Get names of every person who speaks to you. Be prepared to track down nurses or doctors or orderlies or someone to assist. BRIGHTEST SPOT: The parking garage attendants are ALL warm, funny, helpful, and full of positive energy!

On march 24 2017 my uncle was taken to the er and as I am his poa I was notified,he was taken for hypoglycemia and the er Dr ordered a series of tests from labs to xray his ultrasound came back and they admitted him to the hospital and immediately had a gastrointerolgist to consult and began running uneccsary testing as the ultrasound was clearly was not his,his gallbladder was removed over a yr ago and clearly on this ultrasound that was taken shows his gallbladder was free of stones, sludge, and wall thickness was normal.not only did they put him through uneccsary testing but the person that the ultrasound actually belongs to is not receiving proper care for their condition. In the meantime my uncles pcp stated yesterday they could have killed him as what he really needed was his hematolgist from the James as his counts has dropped due to his leukemia and he needed blood to bring the counts back up.not a gastro Dr to do a routine colonoscopy that made his condition worst from the prep and no nutrients for 4 days. On top of all this security treats you horribly after 48 hrs being there and no sleep I sat down in the lobby at 3 am accidently fell asleep and got woken up by a security guard hitting me in my ribs screaming obcennties at me telling I better have a f--ing pt somewhere in the hospital or else he will beat me to death.I requested the video tapes from the lobby and of course they refuse to hand them over. Security outside is telling young college girls to walk down to the corner and sell their self cause they look trashy... Do not go to this place its suppose to be a top 10 hospital.well its top 10 for humility not humanity.

I know the devil is in the details Mr. Leslie Wexner sir, but OSU Harding Hospital really did a poor job in their treatment of my psychiatric conditions for the fact I shouldnt have even been there. I would put the review on their page, but I just thought this would be better since it has your name on it with all due respect sir if your responsible for running it or not. I was assaulted before I arrived at the hospital by a woman in Grove City and the hospital just kept saying I was crazy and continuously medicating me when I was telling the truth about the battery. The crime has been covered up to this very day. Governor John Kasich sir does nothing about it even after Ive contacted him formally as well as leaving him a very formal and nice note on his YouTube channel in the discussion tab, as well as law enforcement and it truly raises a real hell fire within myself. Seems to me with all due respect sir, you need to get your medical center in order in accordance to the reviews here on Google. Or photoshop some on here or something. I dont use photoshop, I want you to know that. Anyway, I wish you and your family the best Mr. Leslie Wexner sir, and I hope you got the Happy New Year note I left for your family on Prince Harrys Instagram. Compare his to mine Mr. Leslie Wexner sir if you get the time. Thank you for your time.

So I have been here and seen by people in a few different departments. Let me just say that the Urgent Care staff are mostly inconsiderate and incompetent. I had to repeat myself about what I was being seen for several times to several people, I was rushed through everything since it was late, and when I raised a concern about my medication to a tech (who was clearly in a hurry to leave) she responded by saying, "is there anything else I can help you with?" while forcing a fake smile. Unbelievable... also, I must have heard "you need to see a primary care doc" about 50 times from the doctor and the techs. Goddammit, I know that and I even told them that before I came in! I needed something in the interim. If you cant help me, dont waste my time or yours. The primary care doc I did end up seeing was a freakin rock star though, all smarts and no bs. It bothered me that his tech person lied about a couple things, but meh. Oh, and the people who did my blood draw were excellent. I seriously was considering giving only 2 stars here but the most recent visit of mine shot it up another star. Someone tell the Urgent Care folks they actually have to try, please.
