Recently I began searching for a new dentist. I chose one that others found to be excellent. When I talked to the friendly receptionist, my sales resistance began to vanish. At my request, I was given an appointment four days into the future. Although I was concerned about cost, I was more interested in this dentist, Dr.Walter E. Gay Jr., DDS. On my first visit (better than an appointment) I met members of his team who were most cordial. Dr. Gay appeared while I was held captive in the dental chair, and immediately engaged me in enjoyable conversation, conducted an exam and took x-rays, at no cost to me. He also gave me a brief demonstration of his use of imaging equipment for data gathering and shaping a course of action. Each patients dental needs are made evident and a comprehensive treatment plan is determined through this procedure. I came to Dr. Gay with a specific dental problem. I had serious doubts that there would be a short term solution. One of my incisors (#10) was in serious trouble, and had been "drilled and filled" twice by my previous dentist. The second filling was gone and the tooth was so thin that it was translucent. Part of the tooth had broken away. After discussing options to solve my dental problem, I chose a procedure within my immediate reach. At our second meeting, within one hour and using state of the art materials, the good doctor created and sculpted a tooth that mirrors its twin in size shape and color. I was more than surprised. As I type this, the feeling of delight returns to me. I have other dental concerns not mentioned by my former dentist but seen by Dr. Gay. I am fortunate to have found this fine dentist among a plethora of others. I did not intend to write a narrative. As it turns out, the only way I could adequately inform others of the excellent dental practice of Dr. Gay and his team was to use this narrative,

I chose Dr. Gay based on his Google reviews, so now that Ive seen him I wanted to add one more five-star review. He is by far the best dentist I have ever visited. He personally spent more than an hour with me, and I was just there for a preventative visit! In the waiting room, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and had access to a fridge stocked with drinks and a Keurig machine with lots of coffee options. Dr. Gay greeted me in the waiting room and sat down with me in his office to discuss my paperwork and chat a bit before going to the examining room. He then did a VERY thorough exam and his assistant diligently recorded all the data he called out to her. He showed me pictures of my teeth when I asked questions about what he was seeing. Then he cleaned and polished my teeth, all the while explaining the difference between plaque and tartar and how I can prevent their buildup. Lastly, he demonstrated good flossing technique on a model and gave me samples of different types of floss. On my way out he printed out color copies of "maps" of my teeth that showed areas for improvement in my flossing. His assistant even offered to heat up my leftover coffee before I left! Could not have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Gay to anyone looking for a new dentist. Looking forward to my next visit :)

Dr. Gay has been providing dental services for my wife and I for almost 3 year now. The first treatment my wife had with Dr. Gay required cleaning a lot of plaque buildup from my wife’s teeth as she had not been to the dentist in a few years. He called her later that night to make sure she was OK. Wow! I cannot recall a time when a health professional made such an effort. We’ve always appreciated his conservative, “wait and see” approach to treatment. I have never felt any pressure (either directly or indirectly) to have unnecessary treatments. Dr. Gay is backed by a team of professional staff that is thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly. The hygienists are top grade. They have always been accommodating when I’ve had to make appointment changes. Dr. Gay has built a practice that he can be proud of and one we are happy to recommend.

I just switched to this office and I am so glad I did. After just an initial visit and comprehensive exam, Dr. Gay and his staff have provided exactly what was lacking at my old dentists office. They listened to my concerns and spent time explaining procedures and a follow up plan. I am so used to a dentist office that was so busy that there was a huge disconnect in what was discussed during treatment and what happened when I got to the receptionists desk. That experience hurt my trust in dentists and my wallet. Im so happy I switched and I look forward to coming back!

Ok, so at first I was a bit skeptical how people could rave about a dentist so much. Then, when I needed a new dentist due to insurance changes, I visited their office and totally understood. Dr. Gays office is incredibly friendly and scheduling an appointment was relatively easy with availability not too far off. Then, I felt like he wasnt rushing to get on to the next patient. He discussed how my actions and preventative care can improve my oral health - all with models of mouths so I could visualize it! Definitely would recommend to anyone.

If you want a TRUE professional opinion be sure to visit Dr. Gay. He will never suggest you do something unnecessary just to earn more money and will always give you the best advice. The staff is very friendly and they always make you feel comfortable. Very clean, organized, professional, consistent office. I have already sent several of my friends to Dr. Gay and they are all more than pleased. I dont ever want him to retire because I have no idea where I would go next.

What a wonderful experience. Dr. Gay and his team was able to schedule me last minute. Was so impressed with their customer service, professionalism and work. I had not been to a dentist in two years, helped me do damage control and create a plan for the future. Happy to know a reliable dentist I can trust. Will be going back for sure.
