My partner got a tooth extracted today at Pacer Dental. He said the dentist and staff were great, but the woman who did billing was not. She charged him 295 dollars for a surgical extraction which he didnt get. He just had a regular extraction. She goes on to tell him that hes not a dentist, but hes had enough teeth pulled to tell the difference. They should be reported for this. If you like to throw away your money for over-priced dentistry then Pacer Dental is the place for you. *update 05/14/14* I went to Pacer Dental myself in 2008 because I was having some gum pain, and I was told that I had Periodontal Disease. They wanted to charge me around $1000+ to get root scaling/planning which was never needed, and to fix a tooth that had a bad filling(lie btw!). I just went to another dentist today that told me I have healthy gums and teeth. I would post a pic of my nice teeth to show you, but its not necessary. I feel relieved that I dont have gum disease, but I am also very upset that I was lied to, so Dr. Hughes get get as much money out of me as he could. I agree with another reviewer on here; I dont know how he sleeps at night.

I had not been to a dentist in many..many years because of a bad exp at one in Florida. I was so depressed because i couldnt open my mouth around anybody or give a big smile becuase of my bad teeth. We had got a mailing from them on their new office location years back. My wife & I were getting ready to get married and she talked me into going. I was so embarrassed to even open my mouth when i got in the chair. I thought..they would all run out the office when they looked..lol. I was treated with such care, understanding, non-judgemental staff..i couldnt believe it! Dr.Hughes is such a caring..soft spoken dentist. You can see in his eyes that he really does care..is a good listener..takes the time to answer all my questions. The staff is easy going..fun to deal with. They handled everything with ease. They make you feel like you are part of the family!

My husband had an appointment as a new patient because the location was ideal for him. He had not been to the dentist for the past year and a half. When he went in, in the middle of cleaning the tech told him he would have to come back and she would finish next time. When he went out he was shown a bill for over $900.00 and told he needed two additional cleanings- "perios" which was very common, and had a small filling for a cavity as well. I had never heard of scheduling multiple initial cleanings and ran it by my dentist who had seen him breifly in an emergency situation this past year and was basiclly told we were being ripped off. Our insurance only covers one cleaning every 6 months- as do most! He was also told he had a copay- which is completely untrue because our plan has no copay! We will NEVER go back to them again!!!

I have been a patient at Pacer Dental for 8 years. During that time I have experienced an outstanding/caring staff. At no time did I feel any judgment as to the level of my previous dental care. During that time the dental hygienist who has cared for me, Jami, along with the rest of the staff have removed my life long apprehension of visiting the Dentist. At my last visit I meet and was cared for by a new member of the staff, Dr. Bang. He is very easy to relate with and professional. The office staff has your best interest at heart and will work with your financial situation. New to the operation is teem members who assist the Doctors and hygienists I meet Emilly as she assisted Jami and enjoyed her professional yet friendly and light hearted banter. All in all one could not find a better experience.

Pacer dental is just good for teeth cleaning. I got my wisdom tooth extracted by Dr. Hughes. He left me for long time to see other patients in middle of extraction. He did the stitches at the end on my gums. I was taking pain killer for at-least 2 weeks and 3 times a day as it was very painful. I am a breast feeding mom and couldnt feed my baby during that time when I was taking pain killers. I was also unable to eat anything for 2 weeks . Finally as it wasnt getting better so I went to some other dentist and he told me I had a bony spicule for which he treated. I got one of my wisdom tooth extracted earlier (4 months back) but that wasnt painful and I recovered in a day. On the whole my experience with Mr Hughes was horrible and I will not recommend anyone for wisdom tooth extraction.

I have always hated the dentist, I was super nervous and embarrassed by my teeth. The girls that work there were so upbeat and happy and excited to help me. It made me feel alot better and they did not judge at all. When I took my 8yr old son they all were so kind to him and made him feel at home. He says he loves the dentist! Its a very happy outgoing atmosphere with great employees. Dr. Bang made me feel as comfortable as possible. Everyone works together very well and is very focused on helping you relax and making sure your getting the best treatment. Im not so nervous about going back for a check up soon.

I first was referred to Pacer Dental by a friend of mine and I was so hesitate to go because of my fear of the dentist. The first day I was there I felt so welcome and felt like part of a "family" instead of a dentist office. I had to have a lot of work done due to having my tooth shot out with a pellet gun when I was little and it was going to take a lot of work to get me to SMILE again. Dr. Hughes and his staff have brought my smile back to where I just cant stop smiling. I live in Reynoldsburg and the drive all the way to Delaware is worth it! I highly recommend Pacer Dental for all your dentistry needs.

As a retired senior U.S. Army Dental Officer, I am highly impressed with Dr. Hughes. I have referred patients to him and have found him to be highly skilled and very conscientious. I would like to comment on the two disparaging remarks below: 1.) Medicaid fees are prohibitively low for most dentists, very often below the doctors operational costs, which is why few accept Medicaid patients, and 2.) his fees, with which I am quite familiar, having referred patients to him, are quite reasonable; especially considering the very high overhead costs in full service dental practices.

My first experience with Pacer Dental was a very rewarding experience. Dr. Hughes and the entire staff were very compassionate and professional. They were very concerned with my comfort level the entire time I was in the chair. I am one of those people who fear going to the dentist. Dr Hughes and the staff made me very comfortable throughout the procedures I had done today. I highly recommend you try Dental Pacer if you are like me and have a fear of going to the dentist. Thank you Dr. Hughes and staff for putting my fears to rest. I look forward to my next visit.
