I went in for a 6 month cleaning and like the comments before me was "forced" into a bunch of other work I didnt want or need. I had just had my wisdom teeth removed, so I had x-rays from somewhere else, I wanted to have them sent to my new dentist Scott Schuman, but they told me they required their own, knowing insurance would only cover 1 x-ray every few years. Right off the bat if was being charged when a 6 month cleaning should be free. Then the assistant who was cleaning my teeth made me rinse with this "special" rinse which would cost me $30 and was not charged by insurance. I claimed I had no money and she basically insulted me, "you dont have any??". Then she told me I had 8 cavities. I was shocked since no other dentist said anything before. They gave me a qoute for $350 to fill those cavities. I never went back and planned on going to my old dentist to have those fillied on my next visit. Since then, they would harrass me, sending junk mail and even TEXT messages about their specials at all hours of the night. I couldnt sleep because of their text messages. Then, when it came time for the 6 month they even had the nerve to call my emergency contact at 9pm to try and get ahold of me to schedule my appt. I dont know why they would be calling people at those hours but they did. I eventally called and demanded they stopped harrassing me and my emergency contacts. Whats worse, is at my next 6 month appt I went to another dentist, where she told me I had perfect teeth..... NOT ONE CAVITY! It turns out they were trying to drill into my perfectly good teeth for $$$. I plan on taking my estimate to the American Dental Assoc. For them to make up things that dont need to done, and force their customers to pay for things should be a crime, in fact I think it is. UPDATE: here I am, 5 years later....still not a single cavity! Ive been to multiple dentists since this (as I move a lot) and have mentioned to everyone of them how this dentist said I had 8 cavities, all of whom were in shock and suggested I report them. Ive read other reviews about people in similar situations with this dentist, so I would highly suggest getting a second opinion before you allow them to drill into your beautiful teeth. Also, as I come here to update this info, I cant help but notice they deny Ive ever been there...I would be upset too if someone gave a horrible review about my business, however, Im here to warn people to STAY AWAY from this place. I hope things have changed since I was there over 5 years ago.

GREAT DENTIST -GREAT STAFF-GREAT EXPERIENCE-I WISH I WOULD HAVE COME TO GROVE CITY DENTAL EARLIER. I have to confess that when it comes to going to the dentist or any other medical professionals I am a total WIMP! its crazy, but I am scared to death of needles because of an incident that happened to me when I was young and still to this day just the smell of of doctors office and the dentist office would make me break out in a cold sweat, but that did not happen at Grove City Dental. First when I called I spoke to a very nice person who assured me that they have worked with hundreds of people just like me. And when I got to the office, although I was shaking, I was met by the lady working at the reception area and she smiled and made me feel very comfortable. She did not make me feel embarrassed even though my smile is messed up. And while I was waiting after I completed my paperwork they kept checking on me to be sure I was comfortable or to see if I wanted water or a gatorade. There was a problem with my insurance, but they called the insurance company for me and got it worked out and I did not have to get involved. Thank God! (I hate dealing with insurance companies, but that is for another time) While I was waiting I started to talk with another person when they sat down in waiting room with me and I told them how nervous I was and they said they felt the same way about dentists before they started coming to this office and that is why they came to Grove City Dental because Grove City Dental offered something called sedation dentistry which I had never heard of and after talking with the person in the waiting room I felt even better about choosing this dentist. When they called my name, my heart jumped, but they gave me a quick tour of the office and I met Dr. Schumann and he smiled and was very down to earth and helped me to relax. After they did my exam I mentioned the sedation dentistry to the lady and they told me how it works and now I cant wait to finally get my teeth fixed without the anxiety and fear and feeling sick to my stomach. And the best part is they can basically do all the work in just one visit so I dont have to deal with the anxiety and build up of fear over and over for each trip. These guys are the best and I even recommended them to my mom for her dentures. I think that anybody who goes there and did not have a good experience may just have been having a bad day because these guys rock!

This is a FRAUDULENT business. Took my family here for over 5 years and did everything they told us to like bought expensive devices, etc. Every time we went for a check up they said we had lots of cavities. Started seeing tons of other red flags (like listening to them use high pressure sales tactics to get people into extremely expensive equipment/procedures they didnt want to do). I kept going there simply because they were nice. Then we get a check up where they say ALL 4 OF US HAD A MOUTH FULL OF CAVITIES (even though none of us had any issues or pain). Decided not to get anything done (even when they called numerous times to try to convince us to) - decided to experiment to see if any of us got any pain/issues. Not one of us did so 6 months later when it was time for another check up, I went to a different dentist. Guest what? Not ONE SINGLE cavity among us! So obviously I stuck with the new dentist. Little did I know that over 5 YEARS LATER IM STILL DEALING WITH ISSUES AS A RESULT OF THEIR FRAUDULENT SERVICES.... I eventually began having some pain and after getting through x-rays, we found old gray filling that had been left UNDERNEATH a new filling so that it would decay DOWN TO THE ROOT THUS REQUIRING A ROOT CANAL/CAP (which would have been lots more $ for him had I not left). In fact, I recall him even telling me "Youll likely need to get a root canal on this tooth later" - Ya think? He left the tooth to decay to CAUSE it. Now, that leads us to present day. My 15 year old daughter had a cavity filled where the EXACT SAME THING was done to her which RUINED HER TOOTH. When she actually did have a cavity as a young child, he only partially removed it then put a filling over it to mask the decay occurring underneath his filling. She has always taken good care of her teeth but is now likely facing A ROOT CANAL AT JUST 15 YEARS OLD DUE TO HIS FRAUDULENT SERVICES. We paid him thousands upon thousands to take care of our teeth when all along he just lined his pockets and PURPOSEFULLY CREATED PROBLEMS TO ENSURE HE KEPT DRAINING OUR $. He should be put out of business! I read other online reviews and saw he did the same to many others. Its time to speak out and put a stop to it.
