i would definitely warn people away from using this place. they have absolutely abysmal customer service. the last two appointments we have taken our child to there has been far more than an hour wait beyond our "scheduled" time. i put "scheduled" in quotation marks because the appointment we had scheduled for our infants 6mo shots, which we had written on her vaccine form and had the card reminder with her was completely missing off their books entirely. the appointment we had today took almost 45 minutes of waiting in the lobby just to get to the back room to see the doctor for the 9mo vaccines. in this time there was another mother that showed up after we did, got in before us and left with her child all before we even got in the door. no explanation given. there has been an instance where a receptionist essentially told us to wait to schedule our next appointment so she could have an argument on the phone with their own child. there are also other things - the first thing the receptionist says, even before "how are you doing" is to ask for the insurance card (heaven forbid their greet their clientele before asking for their money). in the first instance of the doctor being GROSSLY late the explanation we were given by the doctor directly was "we fell behind around lunch time and sadly you had to pay the penalty". it wasnt even an apology. bedside manner for the doctor is fine and the knowledge given is at least adequate. we have made the decision to no longer use this place for our daughter which is a shame since it was recommended to us by a nurse from Dublin Methodist, where we had an amazing experience. this place is just abysmal, not only for the things above but even for nit-picky things, like the waiting room, where we have waited multiple hours now (with no explanation). ive never once seen anyone from the facility tend to it. there is a questionable level of sanitation in the "play area" where i have seen mud and/or dirty show prints in the same place my daughter was about to crawl, the tv, which is easily 10 years old, ive only seen playing a childs movie once in all our visits, seeing the state of the floor i chose not to even bother with the various books or toys around. just an awful experience.

I originally wanted to get in to Southwest Pediatrica on Gantz Rd but they werent taking new patients so I went with Emerald. I thought the doctors and staff were good (nothing awesome). The reason I pulled my daughter out of the practice and have them such a low rating is because when I took my daughter in for her 3 year well visit, they billed me for it. I called my insurance and they verified well visits and all vaccinations are covered at 100%. When I called the billing department at EP, they told me I was billed for an office visit because the doctor looked at my daughters eczema and prescribed some cream for it. So because the doctor asked me about my daughters skin at her well visit I and my insurance were billed. I expressed my displeasure with the situation and was told they would do nothing about it. I know it may not seem like a big deal to some (and truthfully the money/bill is not the issue) but it is the principle of the matter. This is what is wrong with our healthcare in America; we have doctors double billing insurance companies along with other things. I couldnt in my right conscious continue to support a practice that scams the system.

Ive taken all three of my children to Emerald since my first was born almost 9 years ago. Ive never experienced any rudeness. The staff, nurses, and doctors have always been kind to me and to my children. Ive seen all the doctors because I dont wait for my childrens assigned doctor to be available if they are sick. I believe they really do care about their patients. When you read reviews with negative remarks, remember that everyone has a bad day now and then. A little grace goes a long way. The only two negatives I can even think of in the better part of a decade are that sometimes the wait time can be long (I think you will have that most places, especially in the winter time), and I have to schedule well visits at least a couple months in advance to get their visits anywhere close to my childrens birthdays. If you can deal with those, its a great place to take your kids. Ive also appreciated their Saturday walk-in sick hours.

I have been with this practice for a couple of months and my first real appt. was with my daughter who broke her tibia bone but the doctor only recommended an x-ray on her ankle and was sent home with a diagnosis of a sprained ankle. 4 Days later I requested additional x-rays and they found that her leg was broke! She ended up wearing a cast for 4 weeks. 2 Days after my daughter got her cast off we went in for my son and again the same doctor and she was again non friendly towards myself and my children. She actually asked me what happened to my daughter as if she had never seen her before, asking questions like "what happened, how, and when..". How do you not remember a 1 year old w/ a broken leg after 4 weeks!?! Well, today I called to find out if my 4 year old was old enough to go into a booster seat...spoke to a nurse there today and she did not know!!!!!!!!! Well, enough is enough. I switched pediatrics.

I love this practice. Weve been going to it ever since they opened. Both my kids get their yearly flu shot (mist) and they are always willing to acomodate our schedule. Their wait times after lunch can be a little long but thats what you get in any practice these days and I understand that when kids are sick, more time may be needed depending on the severity of the illness. I love the fact that there are so many doctors and they have always been able to get me in for same day appointments. Which is probably why appointments get pushed out - which is ok. One time my daughter had to be sent to Childrens Hospital and the doctor office followed up on a consistent basis. I was very pleased with their level of attention. I highly recomment this practice!

Both of my children were patients at Emerald Pediatrics since birth. We experienced nothing but warm and attentive care from all of the doctors, nurses and other staff. The walk-in hours on Saturday morning were very helpful on the occasion that I needed it (saved me a much pricier/lengthier trip to urgent care) I always felt like the doctors were very down to earth and relatable while remaining completely professional and informative. My children saw Dr. Parsons (who I loved!) as their primary doctor, but we were able to meet the other doctors during sick visits and they were all top-notch. We recently moved out of state and I am so sad to leave Emerald Pediatrics.

All 3 of my children go to Emerald pediatrics and we see Dr. Jeff. I have nothing but positive things to say about the doctors bedside manners, the time he takes to explain things to my wife and I in regards to what may be going with our child. You can definitely see that he genuinely loves his job and kids. The staff has always been great. Im shocked to see some of the reviews about the customer service, because weve never had a problem with nurses or office staff. As a matter of fact, they have gone out of their way to help us on whatever we needed. I definitely recommend them and foresee us sticking with them until our kids are grown.
