My brother has been using this vet for his dogs care. He just passed away, and my Sister-in-law has taken over this responsibility. Just 2 weeks after my brothers death, my SIL ran out of the medication that was keeping the dog from urinating in the house. When she called for a refill, she was told that she would need another appointment as it had been over a year since the last visit. They said they would let her have a months supply for the time being. When she arrived to pick up the medication, and make the required appointment, she was told that it was reshelved per the vets instruction. They told her that she could wait, as the vet was expected in ten minutes. She went back out to her car, and when the vet arrived, she came out to the car to tell my SIL that she would have to see the dog before any meds were dispensed. The vet offered to see the dog in 1/2, but my SIL had to leave to get my nephew from school. When my SIL asked why the rules were changed, the vet told her that "she blew it" and "too bad she wasnt nicer". She was quite willing to make an appointment, but was denied the promised month supply of med. This dog was with my brother in his hospital bed when he died, woke my SIL up to let her know, and has been despondant since. She began urinating all over the house including the bed when the medicine ran out for just a day. The expected response from any vet would be to relay condolence, and then try to help. Instead, the front desk staff, after my SIL told them my brother who usually brought the dog, had passed; told her they would remove his name from the file. And then the vet proceeded to use her position to punish my SIL, who just lost her husband. To add insult to injury, when the vet arrived, she moved the gate. My SIL did not see this, and backed into it. The vet, who was still outside, said "Did you just hit my gate?" My SIL had her window down, and said "you cant think that I did that on purpose" The response was "Oh, I believe that" Someone needs to teach these people the phrase "Im sorry for your loss". I wonder how someone who could be so cruel to another human being, treats animals who cannot speak for themselves when no one is watching. I wouldnt want this person taking care of any animal that I love.

It really hurts my heart to read all the negative reviews since Mr. Cobb retired fully. Im really saddened people went through that. I have been taking my animals (cats (mostly), rats and guinea pigs) for the last decade and a half to this vet. From mitts, neuters, surgeries, regular check ups, shots, etc etc. I have been very happy with the service I have gotten with them before and after Mr. Cobb. They are one of the few vets that have actually helped me right over the phone! Personally we love Dr. Bayer in particular and I have never had a vet techs I didnt like. I am one of those people that over worry and ask too many questions. I have been impressed that they have never faltered to give me an answer even when it wasnt what I wanted to hear. My family also takes their dogs to this vet and have had better experiences with the new vets than before with Mr. Cobb (his gruffness was endearing but not everyones cup of tea). I hope that in the future everyone has more of the experiences I have.

I recently took my dog that I picked up from the APL there for a check up. My puppy was extremely malnourished and wanted the vet to examine him for any issues. The vet was terrified of him. (Yes he was barking at her, but never growled) She continued to throw treats at him. She spent more time looking for fleas then checking anything else. (He had flea medication administered at the APL and thats something that I checked for.) She never even looked in his ears, didnt take his temperature, didnt even feel his belly. Not surprised that a few days later... he has a bad case of ear mites and they never even discussed any option for flea or heart worm prevention!!! So guess what...off to a new vet I go. At least the money I spent on the office visit paid for the container of treats that my dog consumed. Thanks for helping fatten up my dog.

Dr. Cobb is one of the best Veterinarians I have ever known. He is by far the best diagnostician I have ever seen. He is honest and fair and has always advised what is best for the animal....and he truly cared for your pet. I am so very very sad ( for us) that he has retired. We will miss him. I am not pleased with new ownership as far as policies enacted and the general $$$$ for service and no care too bad attitude. I do understand that college loans need to be paid as well as business expenses... it just seems to me that some care and compassion could be injected also.

Poor customer service. I called after taking a rescue dog there two days ago that would not allow us to put drops in his ear. Offered for us to come back for a $55 in house treatment after we spent $73 in take home drops, said the in house treatment would work. I didnt understand why this treatment wasnt tried first. Requested call from vet to discuss and ask for tips for the current meds. Called and talked to tech, no call back- which would have been appreciated and was expected as the tech said they would be contacting us.

Took our 12 year old dog in to see the doctor. He wasnt doing very well and we were afraid of the worse. Sara and Dr. Andray were very nice and helpful. Ran blood work, everything came back fine. He is on a couple medications and doing much better. Pleased with the service and the reasonable cost for the services we received. Thank you Oberlin Animal Hospital, Sara, and Dr. Andray.

Compassionate, loving, affordable and caring Vets and Techs. Well worth the 30 min drive. We have used different Vets over the years in Bay Village, Westlake and North Ridgeville. If U care about your pets more than the convenience of a close office visit Oberlin Animal Hospital is the place to take all your pets.

Dr Cobb is amazing! He will not beat Arlington the bush. He will tell you exactly what the best course of treat me will work or if its not worth making the animal suffer. All in all he is very truthful! My family love him! He is the only vet for us!

Long wait in waiting room. Hard uncomfortable plastic seats. Only one vet to handle many animals waiting
