Dr. Simpson - the only dr. we ever saw at this surgery-- apparently has done a good job on our dogs leg ( TLPO cranial cruciate repair). Otherwise, a somewhat disappointing experience. Very poor - almost non-existent preparation except for Dr. Simpson announcing that shes done thousands of these, often several a day. At $5000 per surgery, its a money-printing operation, no joke. They take a cookie-cutter approach to the dogs - they show no signs of actually knowing their patients as individuals. The atmosphere in the office was giddy, annoying "cheer-leader" style, while info and instructions were absolutely minimum and mostly boilerplate -- sometimes confusedly written and/or inapplicable. Re-checks were a matter of 5 minutes max. - get em in, get em out. (We drove an hour, minimum, to get there, and another hour home.) We had no confidence that they knew our dog from any of the others. Our dog is very strong and high-energy, age about 8; the skimpy post-op (final re-check) advice did not acknowledge the issues this kind of personality brings. Its our problem to figure out a plan. Most upsetting: Before we actually did it, no one mentioned any of the horrible things that can and do go wrong with this op, including that a certain percentage of dogs who undergo this surgery develop cancer at the operation site. I found out about these issues too late, asked the dr about them and was told this is just Internet hearsay, not science. Not true. Reliable scientific studies exist. Educate yourself BEFORE you put yourself and your dog through this. Be aware of risk factors. And dont expect this outfit to be forthcoming. Finding out about this stuff after the fact made us feel as if we had been duped, and the cost of the surgery was salt in the proverbial wound. Altogether- so far - the op seems to have been good for our dog--time will tell-- but not a great experience for us humans.

Do not bring your dog here. They did surgery on my dogs elbows when she had a fever. And they did a double elbow displaysia surgery on my Bernese mountain dog puppy which hey scared us into thinking they had to do right away. The first time my dog was sick or had issues they brushes us off and told us to go to our local vet. They surgery didnt go well. They continued to make us do 2 other surgerys. My dog got MRSA from this clinic which I think if from not being clean. I spent close to $10,000 and my dog still has two broken ulnas that never healed. The final time they put plates i. And my dog still had an infection they brushed us off again and only removed one plate. We were fed up! And went to another doctor. He said if we hadnt removed the plate that day my dog could have died. And the second doctor said that the double surgery my dog got is a very old school surgery. Then they had the never and call to ask if "he" is ok. My local vet said we should have never gone here. My poor dog will one day need a double elbow replacement. Shes on constant medication and physical therapy. Shes 4 and can barely walk 10 minutes. She would have been better off with the elbow dysplasia. Get a second opinion. Do not do elbow dysplasia surgery here!!! I feel like atleast they should have refunded us everything. And they didnt. Do not come here. Bad surgerys. Very expensive. Bad follow up care.

My very active GSD was diagnosed with partial CCL tears in both knees. Dr. Munjar was referred to me by another SAR dog handler whose working k9 had TPLO surgery by him. Apparently he is well known in the SAR community and has a stellar reputation. I could have gotten the surgery done by someone else for less money, but I wanted the best surgeon for my buddy. I was very pleased with the initial consult, he takes the time to answer any questions and gives you an honest opinion. After surgery, Dr. Munjar called me with an update. The staff took pictures of him recovering and texted them to us, it was so sweet! My dog recently went in to get his sutures removed , Dr. Munjar again took the time to talk with me and answer questions. I am very impressed with him and how he gave us his personal cell number for after-hour emergencies. He has replied to every email and made sure my questions were answered. I definitly recommend him to anyone who is looking for TPLO surgery.

I took my dog here after being referred by my vet. Without looking at the X-rays I had already had taken they told me they needed to take more, implying that they had seen the original shots, which they had not. I was then told that my dog had a torn CCL and they wanted to do a 4,000 dollar surgery to repair her leg. The TPLO that was recommended was not the right surgery and also was 1,000 dollars more than the vet down the street. I got a second opinion and was told it was the wrong diagnosis instead of a torn ligament her patella was slipping out of place, this turned out to be a much less invasive surgery and significantly cheaper. From the second I talked to the front desk it was all about how much money they could get out of me.

Dr. Simpson, if it wasnt for your exceptional skill my Irish setter with 2 torn ACLs would not be around today..."Chops" was adopted by all of the office staff and pamper through his ordeal. I hope that anyone reading those other reviews would really listen to someone who actually benefited and appreciated Amelias caring and skill for our little boy. She was available at all times when we had a few minor problems or questions. I really appreciate her and highly recommend trusting her insights to bring your pet back to you!

Recently had to take my dog to them due to an injury to her ankle. We were having a difficult time diagnosing the exact problem. Dr. Munjar took another set of x-rays and personally made sure that the best radiologist read them. He recommended against surgery in favor of PT. I appreciated his honesty and integrity to decline a surgical patient when he felt surgery wouldnt make a big difference in the outcome. I would recommend him to anyone who has an injured pet.

We were SO grateful that our vet suggested we see Dr. Munjar. He is such a caring person, and treated our dog jack with such respect each time he interacted with him. His staff is so amazing, and incredibly helpful. The TPLO surgery was effortless, and recovery just as they said it would be. We truly appreciate the work Dr. Munjar is doing, and thank him for giving us another couple of years with our boy!

I would highly recommend Dr. Munjar and his clinic. He truly cares about the animal. His office is NOT about how much money they can make during your time of crisis. He, not an assistant, takes the time to talk to you about your pet with information that is easy to understand and options that make sence. His office is WONDERFUL.

Dr. Simpson - awesome! and the staff is great! She fixed my Great Dane/Poodles leg, AND then fixed the leg he had surgery on in 2012 from another surgeon! She loves doing TPLO, so you know she is good at it! thank you, thank you, thank you!
