I have to say that if it were not for Dr. Sidhu and the staff at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital, I truly believe my dog, Romeo, would have died! I was on vacation in Europe and the person who house sat for me did not know much about dogs. My dog has always been a vital, happy pet from the day I brought him home 12 years ago. When I left for my 3 week vacation to Europe, he was fine. About a week into my trip, I received a call from a friend of mine who stopped by the house to check on Romeo. She told me that he did not look well and had been relieving himself throughout the house, which is totally out of character for him. The person who I left him with just figured that he was sad because he missed me being gone. A few days later, my friend stopped by to check on Romeo again. This time she felt that his condition had worsened and drove him straight over to Family Friends Vet Hospital. Dr. Sidhu, who has treated Romeo in the past for basic check-ups, knew immediately that there was something very wrong. Romeo had lost 3lbs, was severely dehydrated and very sick. Dr. Sidhu ordered X-Rays & bloodwork, which appeared to be normal, however, he could tell that something was very wrong. He then checked for pancreatitis and the results were positive. In addition to Dr. Sidhu and his staff taking the time and effort to come up with an accurate diagnososis, because Romeo would only take food from Dr. Sidhu, Dr. Sidhu himself came in early every morning for 3 days to hold Romeo and hand feed him. I have owned pets my entire life and have never come across a Veterinarian who cared for an animal as Dr. Sidhu and his staff at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital did. In addition to the excellent care, Dr. Sidhu, kept me calm all the way from Europe, assuring me that they were doing everything possible to treat and save Romeo. After a 3 day stay at Family Friends, being hydrated, given the correct meds and food, I am happy to say that Romeo is now recovering nicely and will soon be back to his rambunctious, playful self. Lastly, the final bill was a fraction of what Ive seen other Vets charge. I highly recommend Family Friends Veterinary Hospital for anyone looking for a new Vet or considering changing the one they already have. Thank you Family Friends Vet for saving Romeo!!

I took in my little poodle for spay on 6/24th/16. Since spay is a major surgery for dog owners who dont know, (it removes female dogs uterus & other reproductive organs. That is painful so please care for your dogs) I am very concerned having pain meds readily available. When I arrived home, the Metacam liquid pain meds didnt appear enough 2 ML so I left a voicemail and left a message. I went to clinic again 6/25th and Dr. Brar happened to be on the floor. He was receptive and explained briefly what my receipt exactly billed me for and a vet tech made sure I got enough meds 0.3 ml for 5 days. They fixed my problem. I have 4 stars because I want the usual or regular receptionist to have more warmth and friendlier presence in welcoming clients as I did not feel that energy when I took my dog there yesterday for spay nor I didnt get a call, I actually went there on 6/24th at 2pm to check on my dog and at 445pm since I didnt get an update as to when dog will be ready. So customer service can use a few notches higher. Upon leaving also, a quick thorough reminders on pain meds careful dose instructions/ reminders and follow up will never hurt a business. Little things count a lot.

Our pug, Dempsey, was very sick with bladder stones. He could not urinate. Other veterinarians that we had spoken to said that Dempsey would need extensive surgery involving extensive surgery to remove the stones through his urethra. We were about to have him put down. We found Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Brar online and brought Dempsey in. They suggested that we try back- flushing the urethra to push the stones back into the bladder where they then could be removed through an incision in the bladder. The operation was a success and Dempsey is now at home recovering well. We would personally like to thank Drs.Sidhu and Brar for their positive attitude, expertise, and hard work. We know the operation was a lengthy and difficult procedure. We would also like to thank their Veterinary Tech, Crystal, for her kind and professional care that she afforded us and Dempsey. She was wonderful! We would highly recommend Family Friends Veterinary Hospital to anyone who needs highly professional and reasonably priced care for their pet.

When our chihuahua broke her arm, we took her to Family Friends to get a cast. The Vet forgot to put gauze in the cast, and she had this cast on for 3 months. Unaware of the cast rubbing the inside of her arm, We took her back to the vet for checkup. The cast was taken off, and there was a bad infection, revealing the flesh that rubbed off and bacteria from the flesh was growing on the inside of the cast. I heard our dog howling in pain from the waiting room. Then they offered to fix the unfixed-bone for $360. Each cast for her was a chunk out of the pocket. I apologize, but Family Friends left us very incontent and frustrated, looking for a trustworthy veternarian. We then went to a vet off of Sunrise next to Raleys and across from Safeway and the gas station on the corner. Offered each cast for $40. Beautiful group of careful vets that took care of our dog. Gave her "sugar" casts to heal the infection and was healed in 1 month. Please be cautious when taking your dog that broke a limb to Family Friends.

My experience at at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital was wonderful! I called at 8:00am on 10/31/16 to see if they could see my pup and they were able to get me in by 9:40am. I brought my overly hyper and rambunctious 1 year old pup in with a torn dew claw. They kept him for a few hours so they could sedate him and get his dew claw taken care of. The staff went over the care and medication instructions upon pickup. They asked me to pick my boy up a little earlier than they would have normally because he was so stressed out in the kennel. In my experience, vet bills are never cheap, but they did what they could to work with me so I could afford to take care of my crazy pup. The facility was clean. The staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and very good with my hyper boy. If you are in the market for a great vet, check them out!

I have taken all 4 of my dogs here and only here since moving to Sacramento - and Ive been there more times than I care to mention. (My biggest visit was for my chihuahuas luxating patella surgery. Weve also been there for 2 broken nails, 2 neuters, shots, deworming, stitch removal and several baby teeth removal surgeries.) I am thankful I found this place as the staff is absolutely wonderful and make unpleasant vet trips as smooth and easy as possible. I do feel like their $29 check-up fee is a little ridiculous as its just getting a pets weight and temperature. My dogs all had other physical issues that were never checked or discussed with me so Im assuming this is just a way for them to make some fast easy money. Whatever, I do trust them with my dogs so I try not to make a huge fuss about the bills.
