I consider myself so fortunate to have been in the Eugene-Springfield area for the births of both of my children. This has largely been in part to the great experiences Ive had at the Birth Center. The prenatal care I received was what I had always hoped for (personal, caring, informative). While I have some appointments where I waited a while, the wait time was never worse than for any other type of medical appointment Ive had. The facility is comfortable and inviting. The midwives are knowledgeable and caring people. They made me feel like I had options and control over how I wanted my deliveries to be. The Birth Center also has fantastic postnatal care. If youre considering breastfeeding, they offer round the clock lactation help with a lactation consultant. My son had trouble nursing and was losing weight at one point, but the LCs scheduled to meet with me at the earliest convenience. I even had one offer to meet with me on a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend. I really feel like the Birth Center tries to take care of the baby and the mama, moreso than most OBGYNs. Id highly recommend it to anyone in the area. ~Note: they will screen you at your initial 10 week visit to determine if you are a high risk pregnancy. If so, theyll recommend that you go to RiverBend for delivery.

I was so excited to finally have a care provider that was about more than me just being a number for them. Being able to possibly have a v-bac and having the support of a care provider that was all about what we wanted as a family. Our first visit we went to took over two hours and we only saw the midwife for maybe 20 minutes. She kept going back and forth to another patient which I thought was rude and a waste of time. The birth center knew from the beginning that my first baby was a rough pregnancy with preeclamsia at just 26 weeks. No one ever brought up a concern until I was about 16 weeks. All the sudden I was too high risk and needed to see an obgyn when I have had no warning signs that anything is going wrong this time. Why even take me on as a patient if you feel you cant treat me? Now in the middle of my pregnancy I have to go see a third provider and start all over again. Not to mention it wasnt even a choice from me. Super frustrating and very unorganized practice. Seems like people dont really communicate there as well. Im really disappointed in my experience. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Kind, caring, respectful. They treat pregnancy and labor as a normal part of life, not as an illness. They trust your ability to birth your baby and are also there to keep everyone safe. Highly recommended, significantly better experience than the first delivery with an OBGYN office. So glad I found them!

I have been here 3 times since they moved . Normal wait time to get check in 15 mins. Wait to get back to a room 20 mins. Wait time for doctor 20 - 30. If you are late they can cancel your appt or charge you a fee. However, they can be late and never even apologize.
