We were taking my children to John Hopkins Waters Edge. I switched companies, and JHWE did not take my Keystone insurance. So, after doing some research, I saw Oxford Medical Center had great reviews, and they were close to us (in Rising Sun MD). They claim to be a family practice, but are not prepared to performance wellness visits for young children. They inconvenienced us on multiple occasions by having us come out for a wellness appointment and only having 2 of 4 of the shots available. Then, we reschedule another appointment for the following 2 and they only had 1 of 2 in stock. They were supposed to call when the last one got in stock... after 2 weeks, I called to follow up and I was told they still hadnt ordered it, but would order it today and should have it within a couple of weeks. 2 weeks later, I again called in and was told they were on back order and they would call as soon as they came in. To date, I never received a call --- that was in mid-summer; it is now almost February! My kids are behind on their vaccines, and Oxford Medical Center shows no concern! Furthermore, at their wellness appointments, they never spoke about development! Needless to say, when I received new insurance at open enrollment this year (cigna) we switched back to JHWE! If you have young kids, avoid the same frustration I have experienced and find a practice that cares about little ones!!

I never write reviews, but my experience with the Oxford Medical Center was unacceptable. I have never encountered such inconsideration for a sick patient in my life. This morning my mother and brother went in as sick patients and were diagnosed with bronchitis. My appointment was later afternoon before treating me I had to settle a dispute about a bill that my insurance didnt pay because the medical center recorded my birthdate wrong. After settling the misunderstanding the medical center denied treating me because the next patients had arrived. Well, if I recall I had an appointment as well and I had even showed up early... it wasnt my fault that the bill was submitted wrong and it took some time to figure that out... so why should I be turned away? Normally I wouldnt mind coming back to be treated, but I have a newborn at home. When I expressed my worry not for me, but for my four week old baby who could potential catch the bronchitis if I wasnt treated they showed no remorse. I just cant comprehend how a sick patient is turned away when I had a scheduled appointment in the first place let alone a sick patient with a newborn with a weaker immune system where a slight cold is a huge deal let alone bronchitis. They also didnt have any open appointments for two days. The office is very unaccommodating and does not may attention to detail. I will not be returning, ever.

I initially called Oxford Medical Center to schedule an appointment two weeks in advance, as my previous doctor did not accept my new insurance. I scheduled an appointment and met with a nurse practitioner which was fine. The problem arose when I needed my prescription refilled and the nurse practitioner said they needed my records from my previous provider. Fine, a little frustrating that I was not told this when I initially scheduled my appointment but whatever, then I go to the front desk to fill out my paperwork so they can get my records, and Im told to check back in two to three weeks.......wait what??? two to three weeks??? Apparently thats because they still use a paper system in maintaining records. SO LETS RECAP THIS.......I initially call as a new patient to schedule a med check two weeks in advance, and they cant do anything for me without my records, and it will take two to three weeks because they use a paper system........and if you have a problem dont bother asking for an office manager they dont have one of those either. As a business owner I can not believe the amount of unprofessionalism this office demonstrates.

I have been going to Oxford Medical Center as my PCP for my entire life including my family. The care received by the Staff especially Trudy Bauer and in general everyone from the time you walk in the door has been irreplaceable. I hope everyone feels this confident with their PCP as a major relationship not just a Dr,s visit! THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF AT OXFORD MEDICAL CENTER.
