I know for a fact that Beach Health Clinic helps a lot of people in need. However, this review is just my experience and I didnt even get far enough to become a patient and rate that experience. I dont know her name because of 2 or 3 times that Ive called she NEVER gave it but the young black female answering the phones has a lot of attitude and was unable to keep track of who she had on hold on which line. She also could not remember or pronounce the condition I called to ask if they could see me for despite me saying it to her several times. I asked her point blank if they could help me with DH and she said "no" in a louder tone (almost yelling at me) and with a great deal of attitude. Whether or not she is a volunteer, she should not be dealing with the public if she cannot handle it and it doesnt appear that she can. I also understand they have a process of screening patients to determine if they are eligible and she is most likely not trained in any medical position but there are SOME people and potential patients (yes poor people) who have legitimate questions and are suffering who need to know PRIOR TO GOING for the screening/1st time whether or not Beach Health Clinic can even help them with their condition (if the pt already knows what their condition is). I understand this place is open due to the philanthropic efforts of a GREAT many, however, it must be pointed out that there are some kinks in their process specifically, whether or not they are able to help people with skin conditions resulting from DH. Would it not make sense for BHC to SAVE their own time, money, and efforts by being able to CORRECTLY tell people such as myself upfront whether or not they actually can provide certain types of medical care? All I wanted to know was whether or not they would be able to help me BEFORE I go through a several week process/wait only to be told they cant help me. Guess I dont fit into their "process." My experiences with the current young black female receptionist really gave the impression that she/they would rather get frustrated and simply push me off the line because a poor patient who needs an answer is too perplexing.

There was a time when the Beach clinic use to help poor people or low income individuals. (Been going on and off since 2000). But these days, it has turned into a "gestapo" of making the patient PROVE that he is poor. This involves, tax papers, tax transcripts (which take time to get) They also hit you hard if your unemployed and live with someone. (this means if your friend kindly let you live in his shack out behind his house) They somehow want to know that persons tax record and they use that persons money income to base it upon yours! (despite them not claiming you as a dependent) No folks, DO NOT GO HERE for medical help if your poor and live at home with someone who is renting or paying the bills. Instead GO to the "VIRGINIA BEACH FAMILY MEDICAL CENTER" located at 940 General Booth Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA. 23451. This clinic is a low cost clinic with a sliding scale. The most you will pay if your poor is only 35 bucks and they can get you free medications with the pap program just as Beach clinic does. Labs and test are all done free if your poor. And, the service is better, faster, kinder and, they dont require much in the way of proof of your income as the Beach clinic requires. Also another good thing about the Virginia Beach Family clinic is that once you get a job, you can still go to to them and pay them based on the sliding scale. Its perfect for people who have sporadic work or seasonal work.

This place tried to kill me! The old person that runs the place allowed an OFFICE GIRL and a PHARMACY TECH to take me off one of my heart meds, WITHOUT a doctors order! Did you read that right? YUP! An OFFICE WORKER and a pharmacy TECH!!!! Both NON LICENSED! Cardiologist was LIVID when i told her,and TORE the old one a NEW one and she also let the old one know that it is ILLEGAL for NON-LICENSED people to mess with patients MEDICATIONS in ANY WAY!!!!! Now because i opened my mouth ( GLAD I DID, AS IM STILL ALIVE ) i was DENIED medical treatment when i lost me medicaid, and branded a troublemaker!!!!!! I wonder who funds that place, or who PAYS the old one !!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly she aint worth 3 cents!! NO ETHICS!!!!

Waste of time. Unprofessional services. I was temporarily staying with someone during my time of need of medical service since I had no job and no income. They said they they had to verify the income of the friend who graciously accepted me into their home...then denied me because Beach Health Clinic said "our" combined income was outside their guidelines. Again, I have no income and they wanted to use my friend (as a disinterested 3rd parties income) as if it were my income. They have no concept of ethics or integrity. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS FACILITY.

What a scam the eligibility requirements are false they say 2 to 65 but when you try to get an appointment for a 7 year old they yell at you and tell you they dont see children what a scam and the rudest people I have delt with in a long time. For someone who is supposed to volunteer and give to the community because they love what they do they sure act like they hate the world and would rather take donations and sit on their but.

Beach health clinic is a joke. It used to serve people in need. They pay a woman to find an excuse why they cant see you. She is arrogant. Last person you want to deal with when you are ill. No caring what so ever. Should be ashamed of herself
