This place is a joke! My husband has gone to them multiple times begging for help and they kept turning us away. He is now back in a mental health hospital Because they keep making my husband wait weeks before he can see a therapist/psychiatrist. please please if you have loved ones battling a mental illness DO NOT go here. They DO NOT CARE! They collect a pay check and thats all! UPDATE: after reading everyone elses reviews my heart is heavy. Everything they have experienced I have too. I went there with my husband begging for help. He needed his meds, was having severe panic and anxiety attacks, hearing voices and even suicidal. He was shaking really bad. We went there begging for help. They put him in as a crisis patient. A lady named Beth pulled us to the side in a little hallway and basically told us there is nothing she can do and that we had to wait for the doctor appointment, which was a whole month away. She also said once he saw the doctor that "its very rare he will prescribe any medication for Anxiety". We have gone there 3x begging for help and was turned away. My husband has attempted suicide twice in this whole time. He ended up in Three Rivers Behavioral help, came home and was doing okay. He was trying to make it until he saw Dr. Klausburg. Unfortunately he did not make it. He went to waccamaw begging for help yet again. Only this time they said they will put him in lighthouse. He said okay! He really wanted to feel better and wanted everything to go away, so he agreed. He got to see Dr. Klauburg that day for 5 minutes!!!! He did not care to hear our story. He made us leave my husband there. After we left I called to see if he was transferred to Lighthouse only to be told by front desk that he is was sitting in the lobby waiting for a bed. IN THE LOBBY! Mind You, my husband went there shaking, suicidal, hearing voices, etc. they left him sitting in the lobby for over 5 hrs!!! He went to Lighthouse and did 7 days. Came out with a bunch of medications that he did not need. If someone would just hear us out or listen to my husband they would know what meds my husband was taking. Or you know, maybe call his old doctor in New Jersey. His new meds did not work. My husband tried to hang himself. He is now back in mental health. I said it before and Ill say it again, THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!!!!! They do not care. Please, please, please, avoid going here.

The one star solely comes from the two therapists that I have been talking with. The first was Raydeena who helped me out quite a bit when I started out here but she unfortunately moved away and then I got Barrett as my new therapist. Hes fine too. Now.....the bad: I have to 100% agree with Eric Bean on Dr. Klauberg. He is absolutely arrogant, unsympathetic and disregards anything you try to tell him. A couple months ago me and my mom (who is dealing with recurring cancer mind you) were trying to bring up important information to him regarding my major heart issues, my short term memory problems, my physical exhaustion (As I have had heart problems my whole life) heavy anxiety and he was very cold & dismissive telling us we had a "toxic" relationship because I lived with my parents my whole life who mind you arent the healthiest people in the world. Families are supposed to take care of each other...how exactly is that "toxic"? Oh yeah and he jacked up my meds too for a quick answer...if all of the doctors are like this in the facility...god help all these poor people. Today I had a scheduled appointment...went in and found out from the secretary that they never had me in their system for that day when they clearly gave me June 5th for a therapy session on a card. So not only is the doctor uncaring but they are in such disarray with their records. (Apparently from other reviews Ive read here it seems losing appointments happens a lot with this facility and that is unacceptable) I think a call to Blue Cross may be in this facultys future if they dont start treating patients with the proper care & courtesy that they ask for. Im not just doing this for myself but for everyone else who had to endure such callous treatment from this staff. STAY away from this abyss like the plague.

Update: The nurse returned my call to tell me the Dr wasnt in. She called me next day to schedule me an appointment 2 1/2 weeks down the road. She said problems with medication are not urgent. A week later they call to tell me that the nurse who is specifically assigned to this doctor cant remember he is never in the office this particular day she schefuled the appointnent for and they need to reschedule for 2 1/2 weeks later. I complained. Got a return call and all of a sudden there are 3 appointments available tomorrow. REALLY??? Glad we are getting in but ugh. My son is with his 3rd counselor because they cant keep staff. I can leave 4 messages and they never call back. They changed his meds, he is not responding well at all so I leave a message for the "on call clinician " who informs me that she has no medical experience and that her job is to tell people to go to the ER. Now I have to call in Monday and see how long it will take to see a nurse who will then have to talk to the DR and they wont call me back. But when I call they will once again say we must see the Dr.

If you are seeking professional help for mental illnesss this is not the practice to help. What a joke. The staff was very welcoming and friendly which is important when seeking help with physiatrists. However when my fiancé had seen Dr. Klauburg changed everything. He was on the computer the entire time, very unsympathetic and not professional. He wanted to increase her medications and get rid of one which would have been ok If he thought it would help. But when asking about an alternative treatment he said he could not help me and to go back to her medical Dr because she had not yet agreeded to any change in medications. Even told her to calm down.... She was sitting in his office quietly and desperate for help in tears and would never act out. I have heard several complaints. Will not recommend this Dr to an enemy. What dr says to a patient who needs mental health help that he cannot help. Also takes extremely to long for an appointment. I have never heard so many bad reviews on this faculty. Shame on you.

My sons doctor ( Shetty) is rude and unethical! After handing her a letter regarding my sons mental state from school she skimmed through it and tossed the paper back to me! She also accused my child of making things up! He has been dealing with his condition for about 4 yrs now! I was scrutinized in front of my child! I didnt react because of the fact a child will pick up on how one adult react to another in a situation. After the visit my son asked me why did the doctor talk to me and act like she did! My best answer i could think to give him was " dont react to someone elses ignorance"! I feel she shouldnt work in a mental health facility if your not compassionate! This process and jorney to help my family is my only concern! I dont think anyone dealing with a loved one who is mentally ill should be handled the way she treated us! Im a full time worker and a single parent whos only seeking help for my family! People need more support at times like my own!
