This office does not perform preventative eye care! I had a comprehensive, routine eye exam performed at the Murrells Inlet office in June of this year. Apparently, this office does not perform routine exams only diagnostic exams! Never heard of such a thing! Furthermore, my exam did not include a prescription for eye glasses without an "extra charge". I was given a written prescription that was supposed to me the same as my current prescription. This prescription was used for a new pair of eyeglasses. After experiencing nausea, severe depth perception issues and blurriness, I had my eyes re-examined at another facility and was given a completely different prescription that matches what I had been using. I am now out another $200 for new lenses, had to call Coastal several times to get my bill resolved and am still bristling over the experience. Coastal may have a great reputation for diagnosis and surgical repairs but are certainly not into any preventive care!

This practice dilated my 16 year old nieces eyes without asking or informing her first. The nurse wrote down incorrect information and would not listen to the patient or myself (the adult that came with her). Maureen, The nurse was rude and the doctor witnessing the nurse interrupting our conversation stated the nurse was "just defending" herself. I think that it is wrong to perform any procedure on a minor without informing the patient of what is about to be done. What if she had driven herself to the appointment? This practice has left a lasting impression. I would NOT recommend this practice. This is the second review I have written as obviously somehow the prior review was deleted.

Horrible. We waited from 12:45 and didnt get seen until almost 5 pm. This place is unbelievable. The staff and eye doctor are not on point. Very unprofessional.
