I went to Sexton on 9.4.13. I had an abscessed molar pulled. They told me on the phone it would be $145 and it was. There was a long wait but the waiting room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. They other patients were not bothered by the long wait either. When I got into the back they were very kind and apologetic about the long wait. They said they were slammed and I believe them it was busy as a beehive. The assistants were all kind and had professional appearances. They took xrays and examined me. The xray machine was good quality, just like my regular dentists. The exam room was clean and comfortable with a decorative sign that said, "Our dreams today are tomorrows reality" <- just gotta smile even if its only on the inside! There was not enough time before lunch for the novocaine to do the extraction so they asked me to come back at 12:45. Although that wasnt ideal, I m happy I got to have lunch after the long wait and before the procedure. They were VERY nice about the whole thing. I returned at 12:45, was called in the back at 12:55 and walking out the front door at 1:28. My afternoon assistant was an African American woman who was attentive and picked up on my nervousness. She reassured me that the dentist was very gentle. I believe my dentists name was Covington. He came in gave me the shots quickly very little pain. I felt the needle go in, but I couldnt feel him wiggle it around like other dentists. He came back, checked how numb I was and we were ready to go. He explained to me what to expect as he performed the extraction, The tooth was already broken and he told me it might break and he might slip. I noticed he kept his finger along my top teeth as a shield. Ive had a dentist slip and hit me in the front teeth with the pliers and thats scary! He told me Id hear cracks and pops. I already knew the drill, but it was nice to know what was going on play by play. He popped the gauze in said goodbyes, assistant gave me directions oral and written, gauze and scripts, answered a few more questions and I was out. I would highly recommend Sexton and plan on going there again. Im sorry other people had bad experiences, maybe there was a bad dentist thats no longer there? But it was CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL and KIND. Thank you.

Today I called Dr. Sextons Dental Clinic and described my problem to the receptionist on the phone. She said "just be here at 1" I said ok and we both hung up the phone. When I got to the office at 12:50. I went in the office to the front desk and the lady asked me "what was my problem?". I told her I had a abscess on my gum at my wisdom tooth. That the day before I press on it and white soft chucks would come out and after just puss and it tasted bad. She told me to fill out the paperwork and I did. After that I waited in the lobby for three in a half hours. Now at first I didnt mind the wait but after the visit I said to myself "I just paid $80 to spend 4 hours in a dental office for the dentist to spend 6 mins with me if that!" The reason I say this is once I got in the back the dentist asked me whats wrong, then fish hooks my mouth looks for 2 seconds and says "yeah your wisdom tooth is trying to come in" I said, "what about the puss and white stuff" he said, it was impacted food and it infected. In between all this he is jumping back and forth between me and another girl in the next room all in a hurry even though he had no one else in the waiting room. He prescribed me 2 medications and didnt describe either of them guess he didnt have time in the few moments he was with me. He also referred me to a oral surgeon and I proceeded to leave. I got to the women at the door and she was the most polite and courteous one there. I paid her the eighty dollars and left. Needless to say the whole experience was not the best the dentist just wanted my money and didnt care to spend ten mins with his patient and talk to him and be there for him and his problems. I mean I thought that was part of the job. Guess not. Will not go back!

First they made my father wait 5 hrs for a consultation, then 2weeks later on a return visit to the myrtle beach clinic, dropped off my father at 7am and he called me back at1130am to tell me that they took impressions for dentures without pulling the teeth he had left, and that they will not proceed until the bill is paid in full!!! So at this point they have done a $80 consultation and impressions, but they want $500 up front to finish!!!!! Who does that? Maybe MC Donalds!!! So I told the receptionist that I would pay in full with me debit card when he is done and has teeth!!! 3 hrs later my father calls me and says they havent done anything since I talk to receptionist on the phone, so I told him to go up to window and find out what is going on, they said they scheduled him to come back 2days later! Never saying that they will not proceed with out payment, dropped him off 2days later and after 3 days wasted with these retards, they tell me that they need to be paid in full, I freaked out rite in the office! U made my father sit there for like 10 hrs in 3visits and I missed picking up my son at bustop 2days cause u cant articulate urself like a professional!!!! Never visit this place!!! NEVER!!! You will thank me later

I wish I had read the reviews earlier! I am NEVER going there again! Please, people, if you are thinking about going there, check it out first, read comments and ask, do not make my mistake! They just took my money and I left their office with a bigger problem. The " dentist", Janosky, as somebody mentioned above- angry mouse, has no idea what he is doing. He opened my tooth, filled it and everything was ok. Since then I ve been just living in pain. his explanation, after taking more money when I went back there, was that I need a root canal. Now, can anybody tell me, Why on Earth would you not tell me I need treatment first, but fill my tooth and charging me? Now, I have to try to live with the pain as much as I can, because I cannot afford to fix it. And you know how it hurts! So, "Dr." Janosky, I hope you are reading this and I hope it all comes back to you and I please all of you not to go there. I am going to get a professional opinion on my case and I am going to file a complaint with the medical association!

on behalf of my Father, he went down there and regrets it relentlessly, he has informed me that he will be seeking counsel because of the unsanitary environment that many people on here have previously spoke about. he said they were so rough with him and he wasnt even completely numb!! the Dr. had a "dental tech" that was constantly chewed out for mistakes she made and also the Dr threatened to send her home without pay right in front of a patient, which is entirely unprofessional. two days later he has had to go to a dental clinic in Wilmington nc and receive an additional 743.34 in work done on his mouth because of the sexton clinics screw up. Please people do not go to this place, its cheap for a reason, we use him trying to save money as "us poor people" do and get taken advantage of. it would be beneficial for the dr to never step into my office, as he will understand all of these 1 star reviews very well.
