In February, my family was hit with the stomach bug and unfortunately, I eventually got it. It was so violent that I wasnt able to keep down an oral Zofran tablet so I visited CareSpot for an injection since they were so close and my doctor regular doctor was unavailable. When we arrived we were the only ones there however both receptionist were on the phone so we waited. We finally were asked to fill out the paperwork while they ran our insurance. We were informed that the cost for the visit would be $300, which we felt was too much so we gathered our things including our three children and began to leave. As we were walking out of the door the receptionist announced over the desk, with more clients now waiting, "But we can take $100". We walked back over to the desk and confirmed that our payment would be $100 and they would bill insurance for any remainder. The receptionist kept leaning over to the other receptionist to ask questions as she appeared to be in training. We paid our $100 portion, were seen for a shot, and left. Two months later we received a bill for a balance and my husband and I were both shocked. I called the billing number on 4/22 and told them of my conversation with the receptionist and was told they would contact the center manager and call me back shortly. On 5/12 I called again as I hadnt heard anything back. This time the person I spoke with shared with me all about their billing policies to which I said I understood however that wasnt what their employee shared with me when I visited their facility. She assured me that she would get in contact with the center manger. She called me back the next day and simply said that they confirmed my bill was accurate and that she had no authority to assist me further. She said I could call the center manager (Norma) myself if I would like. I called and left a message for Norma on 5/13. I called again for Norma on 5/27 since I hadnt received a response and the receptionist asked if she was expecting a call from me. I informed her that I was a patient and needing to speak with her about my experience and my account. She said she would leave her a message. I called the billing office again on 6/6 as I still had not heard from Norma. They said they would send her a message to call me. On 6/7 a woman named Jamie, the center manager, called me and informed me again that my bill was correct and all about their policies. I explained my experience to her and she let me know that the employee who spoke with me that day was no longer employed there and that since they were owned by HCA she had no authority to make any adjustment to my account. When I inquired about why the HCA hospital less than a mile from the location offers discounts she simply said that they didnt offer discounts and hung up as I was confirming I had her name correct. What I had hoped for when reaching out was a listening ear, kindness, mutual respect and understanding. Not once has anyone offered an apology for the misunderstanding. That would have gone a long way however I have been insulted and spoken to condescendingly. I now can guess that I was served by a trainee who didnt clearly know how to verbalize what I would be responsible for. I am now unable to walk away from the service as I started to do and am stuck with a bill I wasnt informed I would have. I would warn anyone considering visiting this location, or company, that they are more interested in your money/their policies than your care and that they are not at all concerned with your satisfaction.

I went to CareSpot with bad pain in my ear and a tiny sore beside my ear and was told I had early stage shingles. I was told 2 or 3 times that I was "lucky" I caught it so early, given a prescription for antivirals and sent home. I was not scheduled for follow up, nor was I told what to expect. I continued to feel worse but thought it was just something I had to go through, then on the third day, I woke up with the left side of face covered in sores. My lymph nodes were hugely swollen and I had lumps and sores in my hair. I was in so much pain I could barely talk, radiating into my jaw and cheek bone. I called back to tell them what was going on and was told to "go see your primary care physician" and to take Advil for the pain. I explained I had just moved here and didnt have a primary care physician (Why would I have gone to them, if I did?) and I cant take Advil because I take blood thinners. (Like that seriously would help, anyway.) They then told me to go the ER and literally hung up on me. This got worse throughout the day and I suffered the worst pain of my life that night, and was at the ER the next morning, where they immediately gave me a shot of morphine and explained to me about nerve pain and that the anti-viral they had given me at CareSpot was only one sixth of the dose I should have received. They said the virus had continued to spread since my visit. The ER dr said that shingles moves quickly and that it was in my facial nerve and if I had not come in when I did, it could have caused permanent damage and I could have lost hearing in that ear or even had facial paralysis. He said that even now, I could have lasting effects. Needless to say, I will never go back to CareSpot. To say this was negligence is putting it mildly.

Thank you Care Spot nurses and staff for your utter incompetence. I told one of the nurses that my throat was sore, even though I was being treated for another issue. She looked at my throat, did a strep test, concluded it was negative and sent me on my way. 1 week later and I have pharyngitis. This could have all been solved if she brought in the useless NP to look at my throat that she admitted was red with specs. I guess that would have been too much of an effort. Went back in for the NP to evaluate a skin infection I supposedly had. She took 10 minutes to evaluate me and thought it was a skin disease but said she wasnt sure. This location was supposed to refer me to a dermatologists office. They didnt. Thanks to the thanksgiving holiday, I was out of town but never received a phone call. Turns out, my referral order was "lost" by the incompetent receptionists. The Care Spot referral service isnt much help. You are limited to 2-3 physicians in your area who have low reviews anyways. I sent the photo of my skin infection to a doctor via text and she was able to tell me to take benadryl to help with it temporarily. Its sad when someone can virtually give you needed information and not take 10 minutes of dumbfound staring but I guess thats why doctors are paid and respected more and nurses are made fun of on the View. After this fiasco, they never called me for an update. The receptionist office called me to finally give a referral but I was done with them at this point. They rotate a PA and a NP. They dont ever bring in a doctor and if so, I havent seen one ever in my multiple visits. I have found a better urgent care in Mt. Juliet and will take my service there despite the drive.
