Blown away that this man is allowed to practice medicine. Thats really all hes doing is practicing. My husband was schd for a colonoscopy on a Tuesday. Did the 24 hour prep and day of his appt was called and told that his appt wasnt till the next day (according to the appt card they gave him said otherwise but, they didnt care) so he had to go 48 hours on a liquid diet. We go into the office that next day he was taken back right away while I was left in the waiting room for 3 hours before they finally came to me and said he was going in for the procedure. 20 mins later this DR comes in to tell me the results. He mumbles his words and doesnt speak clearly. He basically tells me that my husband is hyper and stressed. (He has adhd) I tell him that Im aware of my husbands personality but this is nothing new and shouldnt be causing all the problems hes having. He was extremely rude and told me that the adderall (hes only been taking 2 weeks) was also a problem. I again disagreed with him since his issues have been going on for years and just progressing. He tells me that he wants him to come back for more testing which are much less invasive than a colonoscopy. Not sure why they wouldnt try those first but what do I know. He decides he needs new meds which I go to pick up and find out they are for anxiety and cant be taken with some of his current medications. When did GI doctors start passing out anxiety medications? Esp without telling the patient or talking to them about it. They expected him to come in the following week for 3 different appointments at 3 different locations and go another 48 hours on a liquid diet. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the nurses were lovely and basically did all the work while this joke of a Doctor sits back and collects the money.

I found this doctor with a web search that indicated he had the expertise I wanted, which was to do some follow up from a problem of five years ago. I think his web results are gamed with SEO techniques, because it was clear from the first visit that the office had no special expertise, and was primarily a mill to do colonoscopies. After two visits, I never saw the doctor, and in fact never got any consultation whatsoever on my blood tests and ultrasounds. I ended up paying about $600 in fees, and finally just had to get a copy of my own clinical files to get any information (that took two attempts - the first time the results were never sent to me, despite staff assurances that they would be). Once I had my information, I discovered that the nurse practitioner had made errors in taking notes from my first interview, entering symptoms I never said I had. Oddly enough, those symptoms would have suggested a colonoscopy, and that was in line with all the other staff interactions I had. Everyone there seemed terribly concerned that I get a colonoscopy, despite the fact that its only been six years since my last one and I didnt even come to their office for that. As best as I can tell, the doctor is mostly occupied with doing colonoscopies all day, and isnt really interested in treating patients. So if you want a colonoscopy, I guess hes pretty experienced, but if you want anything else, I suggest going to an office where they actually treat patients.

Felt like I was run through at maximum speed with little care. The nursing staff that does the procedures were very nice, thats the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one. The ultrasound tech was super rough, and rude. Not only did he ask me how many years I abused my liver with drugs and alcohol, when I told him I dont drink or use drugs he told me that he didnt believe me. His job was to take an ultrasound. Totally unprofessional. My liver was biopsied before the anesthetic had taken effect so I jumped and the doctor scolded me and asked why Id moved. I saw the actual doctor literally for 60 seconds. He gave the nurse pamphlets for me to read, but never actually talked to me himself. The physicians assistant told me to lose weight (I have a strict diet, but still cant lose weight) he didnt want to hear it. I also signed up for a research study for my liver, I spent 6 weeks giving myself a shot every day and did not see the doctor once. Evidently they do a lot of research studies, for various things. The doctor gets compensated but the patient doesnt. I had to use personal days at work and go to several different places for additional testing, even had to repeat two tests because they were done wrong. My blood pressure elevated a few times to dangerous levels, still wasnt told to see the doctor. The nursing staff is the only shining star at this practice and I honestly feel bad for them.

I have been sick w/stomach issues of some kind for at least 20 yrs. We have moved a bit so it has been difficult for drs to get a specific diagnosis. I have ulcers, blood in stool, horrible pain from IBS, Gastroperesis, precancerous polyps, fatty liver cysts, chronic constipation & since I started to see him he found I have Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). As soon as I started to see him and his staff it was a matter of 3 mos and he had my diagnosis of NASH. He and his staff are awesome, very articulate, very patient oriented and for the most part they have all been together for some time. I would highly recommend him. I have other medical issues, both rare & common so I have a fair amount of experience I believe in the good, bad & ugly of the physician world. I will continue to see him. Just an FYI in regards to a comment regarding wait time. I believe you will experience wait times with almost any dr office. My experience w/all the different drs, tests I have had to get at other places, emergency room visits etc. I have had no wait time to rediculous wait times. I believe you have to pick and choose your battles ie drs in regards to who you think will work the best for you & your situation.

This was the first time Ive ever walked out of a doctors office unseen and unsatisfied. Upon arriving I noticed the unkept office quite strange and impersonal. To my surprise I was greeted by a nurse practitioner dressed like a doctor and when I thought this was strange I asked if the facility was a managed care facility. The nurse practitioner hesitantly responded and said yes. Whats going on here? Its pretty simple. Each patient is given a maximum amount of time with the practitioner upwards (typically) of about 15 minutes. Insurance companies pay handsomely for managed care. Managed care has gone awry and is one of the most corrupt practices in US medical history. Patients care is absolutely neglected here. Find a doctor who will take a true personal interest in your issues. Avoid this schmuck who has not even half the bed-side manner or etiquette to meet you himself. I truly hope managed care goes away. Sad to see money the source of inspiration for doctors like Herring and many others.
