It is with a heavy heart that I make this review. I will preface the negativity with some positivity: the cleanings, and exams I got were fantastic, and I never had a problem with them. There is a great level of professionalism here, as well. Also, the fillings I got (which is the source of my negativity) were absolutely painless to get, and the procedure was quick as well. That leads me into the bad: the aftercare of the fillings has been atrocious. I got two teeth filled, one has done great, the other had given me a lot of grief. The day of, once the numbness wore off, I noticed a tiny hole in my tooth. The next day, the spot where the hole is started to hurt when I bit down on things. After a week or so of dealing with this, thinking maybe I just needed to adjust, I called and made an appointment. The dentist I saw was one I had never seen before. She told me essentially I still needed to adjust, but still ground out a bit of the composite/tooth in that super sensitive spot thinking if the bite was adjusted, it would help. It actually did for a day or so, but then it got worse. I havent been able to chew anything on the side with the fillings, and now it hurts when I brush my teeth, when I breathe with my mouth open and of course when I chew, along with just account constantly now. When something accidentally hits that tooth, Im almost in tears. I make yet another appointment, requesting the doctor who actually did the fillings. I got an appointment that day (thank you for that!) and saw another completely new doctor. Off the bat, the doctor seemed to not take me very seriously, and told me I probably wasnt adjusted yet. She did an exam, and said she found nothing, no decay or anything clinically wrong. I told her I know she wouldnt find decay, explained that there was a small home, that I thought some more composite might help, and that I am trying to stay ahead of any possible decay. She then got an explorer, and kind of checked my tooth, all while informing me that "poor oral hygiene" can lead to pain, and essentially suck it up. I have never been more embarrassed, and so upset that in two visits no one would listen to me, and kept sending me away with an exposed nerve, and in a great deal of pain. All I got was a recommendation for an endodontist, as I might have a crack in my tooth, or some such. So now I have to go through the ordeal of finding a brand new dentist to get this filling fixed, as the pain is getting worse by the day. As I said before, I loved this place until this issue came about, and I just wish that I had been listened to, instead of told to just deal with it, in so many words.

My experience at Gulfside Dental in Galveston has been horrific. I have seen 4 different doctors in 4 months of care. They go in and out of there so fast and nothing is consistent. The cleaning was great, but thats all I can say about it. I had 3 molers pulled and ended up in the hospital from the pain medication they prescribed to me. It was so strong. I am a 64 year old senior citizen and do not need that strong of pain medication. I let them know that they should ask the patient next time. Not all patients are the same. I also have COPD and no one cared and refused me treatment because I couldnt lay back all the way. I had to have partials made and it took 5 months. I started in late November and it is now April and I am still not wearing them because they still cut into my gums. I paid $1200 for these. The next new doctor was filing down the partials for me for a better fit, but here comes the worse part, he was seeing other patients and was going back and forth. He never changed his gloves!!! He was cross contaminating when he was sticking his fingers into somebody elses mouth and contaminating my partials when he was working on them. I got up and left and will never go back into that place again.

I went in this place more than 6 months ago just for consultation. Today I actually got work done. A deep cleaning and more than 6 fillings. My teeth were horrible seeing that I havent seen a dentist since I was 11. Of course I brushed my teeth but I wasnt taking great care of them at all. After 3 hrs of work and them staying late after close to make sure my teeth were great I feel awesome. Thank you so much for the great service and my teeth being so refreshed. From setting up an appointment over the phone to them calling you insurance to make sure everything is set up correctly. They always call to remind you of your appointment and they didnt make me feel bad about my teeth. I promise to take great care of them and when I come back in 3 months you will be proud to say you are my dentist. I drove 30 minutes in the opposite way of my house and job to come here and it was more than worth it. This is a great place to call home

I have gotten X-Rays from this place, and all seemed well. I had spoken with the dentist about the work that I needed, and went back to the counter after my examination. I had over 7,000 dollars in work needed. The receptionist re-assured me that she would contact me about the billing, due to her suspicions about my insurance. 2 weeks pass with no contact. I then stopped in and demanded my X-Rays, so that I could see another dentist. I mentioned that I was supposed to get a call back. The receptionist acted as if I wasnt even standing there ! I then stormed out with my X-Rays in hand, stating that I will take my business elsewhere ! I dont know how business is done here, but this is the most unprofessional dental office that I had been to ! Aside from being cosmetically nice to look at, this place is not for me ! Things are looking grim, as far as my trust in practices around Galveston !

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Fast, professional, courteous, the list goes on and on. I had 2 teeth pulled today and was absolutely dreading it, making up excuses in my mind not to go. The last tooth I got pulled from another dentist was traumatizing but this visit was nothing like that at all. I was called in immediately and got to watch from a selection of shows while my numbing medication began to work. I was a little nervous because of my last horrible experience somewhere else and acted a little foolish at one point. The dentist and staff kept their cool and maintained the highest level of professionalism. Long story short once she got started the whole process was relatively painless, and now later that same day Im back at work with no problem at all. Now Im actually not dreading going back and want to get everything done there that I can. Thank you!

The staff is outstanding! Very knowledgeable and extremely calming to anyone with dental anxiety. I hate going to the dentist typically, but from the second you walk in you get a sense of peace and the calm atmosphere helps calm nerves. The office is the most up-to date, modern office you will ever see! Also, this was the third dental office I visited on the Island and by far the most affordable! The nurses are nice and seem to understand that most people dont actually enjoy being in the dental chair. They talk to you like you are family and are so very attentive. I couldnt ask for a better experience. This is a group practice with several attending dentists, but they all seem to know what they are doing and I havent had one yet that wasnt as kind as the one before. I 100% recommend this office to anyone looking for quality, kindness, and a modern office.
