First of all...I have been seeing Mary Cavnar-Johnson for over 10 years. She was recommended by a friend and I think she has only improved over time. She seems much happier in her new office setting; now on her own. Her staff at the front desk is more friendly than they formerly were. I hung in there through the times she was crazy busy and I had to wait too long or end up with her assistant all the time. I kept coming back through the period of moving to a new location...better in my opinion. She moved close by her former location and was easy to locate after the move...just looked her up :) She is always helpful and pleasant and she has helped me through the tough menapause trasition. She is willing to try different methods of treatment, to get the right dose etc... She never pushes anything on me and when I asked her to save me some money by allowing me to get on a different cholesterol medication...she saved me a ton! Over the past year or so, I mostly get to see her now and not her assistant. Her front office staff was so helpful the last time and fit me in when I came late. They got me to see her assistant, but at least I got in and they were so nice about it! They didnt make me feel too bad. I highly recommend her to anyone loking for a good doctor and hopefully she will not get too crazy busy again...once the word gets around about how terrific she is. LOL

rude, I was disconnected twice. Before I was "disconnected" the first time, I had almost finish my appointment scheduling, when I called back, I stayed on hold for almost 10 min. When she returned, she told me she didnt have those appointment times any more and that she must have miscounted. I asked to speak to the office manager. Rachel came on the phone and asked me what my problem was and I told her I was disconnected twice and instead of her apologizing she said it was probably my phone because they get hundreds of calls per day and they never have any problems This struck a nerve with me but I bit my tongue. She told me they didnt have an opening for the next 3 weeks and that since I havent been seen in over 2 years I would have to start out as a new patient. I thought this is odd because they have my file on hand. After continuously hearing her rude attitude, I asked her to have my patient files ready so that I can switch doctors and she told me its $25 bucks for the first 50 sheets. I asked to speak to someone higher than her and she took my info and is suppose to pass it on to Cindy West. I am now waiting on a call back from her. I will be picking up my ppw I would never recommend anyone dealing with their staff. Doctors are good but the staff not so much - WOW!

Have been seeing Dr. Johnson for 6 years and finally had to leave due to incompetence with staff. Billing errors, and attitude are not what I am interested in when I go to the Dr. I needed to order refills on prescriptions and set appt. to get current. After visit, realized one of the scrips was not filled and called to get added. I was told that I needed to come back in, pay for another office visit in order to get it filled. After pointing out that was why I came in earlier in the week, was told I still needed to come back in! I asked to get a call back from Dr. Johnson and then was told, "That is why she hired me!" Not only did I never talk with the Dr., The office mgr proceeded to tell me what the side effects of the medication were. I pointed out that I wasnt interested in getting Rx side effects from administrative staff, and this being one of many issues decided to find a different Dr. This is not how I want to be treated by a Dr. or their staff.

I only recently had the opportunity to see this office again after about 4 years, but wy wifes been a patient the entire time. Shes battling migraines now, and I have had to drive her to several appointments. I can only say that she has been treated like family. They saw her struggling to get out of the car and one of the staff walked a wheelchair out (we didnt even request it) to get her. They turned out the lights in the exam room and really did what they could to make her feel comfortable, even offering her ice for her head and neck. Dr. Shepperd is terrific and very good at treating my wifes migraines. I found the offices very clean, the appointments on time, the staff very friendly, and a great environment of atient care. Thats why my wife wont go anywhere else.

The medical care is great but dealing with the office manager is a joke. MCJ will never know how much this hurts her business or the thousands of dollars it costs her per year. The worst part is that this is a controllable. Hire a good, competent office manager and the rest will fall in place. Again, good medical care once you can get in...

I love love love Dr. Johnson, she is so helpful and awesome. I give her 5 stars. But as a practice as a whole, I had to give 3 stars because Dr. Johnson is the only good thing about this place.

Here I sit one hour past my appt time reading a notice on the wall for patients to be on-time or be rescheduled. ..go figure.
