Ive been a patient for many years. Since I was very young to be exact so about 30 years. Dr. Smith is a awesome doctor and does care about his patients. However anytime on the rare visits I have had in the past is always with a nurse prac. And the front desk people are now just rude. Dont know what happened through the years. I called to get my baby daughter in for a visit. Lady told me that they didnt except anyone younger than either 9 or 10 (cant remember which she said) . I told her that Ive been with Dr. Smith since I was about 7. Not being rude about it but just making a statement and she just said in reply. Well things have changed, what else can I help you with. Just in a rude, short, I dont care voice. When people or their families are sick we dont want to hear that. I want friendly, sympathetic people to answer the phone. Dr. Smith is a great guy but we are going to a closer Family doctor that treats babies to adults. If I was rating just the Dr. alone -5 stars but in all -3 stars

I was a patient of Dr. Eric Smiths of Tyler, TX for over 5 years. I went to him every 6 months about my throat being sore. He kept giving me Z-packs and telling me I have strep-throat. The first time I saw another doctor, Dr. Steuart Heaton, he told me I had chronic cryptic. I had a tonsillectomy and to this day have not had another issue. Also in the 5 year span when I saw Dr. Eric Smith I came in with a chest problem. There was a hump in my chest and he diagnosed me with a tumor and sent me to a specialist. Turns out I have inflammation of the tissue in my chest (costochronditis). Not at all a tumor. I never received a follow up. He just seemed to want to get me in and out and I was only 19 and too dumb to stand up for what I deserve- a competent physician. Please do not see this doctor.

Awesome Dr. Spends time w patients and listens! Practices conservative medicine. Love, love Dr Smith!!
