Worst nursing staff, called 3 weeks ago to schedule an appointment for a quick job (Usaa) health assessment. Told for something like that an appointment isnt required, just fast and come on early in the morning. 3wks later I arrive at 8am, wait 50 mins to be seen (mind you, I havent ate or drank anything) Finally get taken back, and told after I handed her the form, that since im a "walk in" they wont be able to complete this... !!! I said I was told I didnt need an appointment to get this done...and she says nothing that can be done. After leaving and deciding that Im not ok with just that answer, I call to speak with the dr Barrera and Im put on hold for 10 mins and a nurse comes on the line and argued with me say I didnt have my schedule available when I called to schedule the appointment?!? Yes I did, I call you one when I was at home with my calendar and secondly Thursdays are my day off... I she then says we can do it... wth?!? Yah, you can do it now that Im complaining?!? I told her then why didnt the girl say that when I was there?! She says she did! Im now in shock over the phone, because I was told no this could not be done as a walk in!! She then tells me that she and the dr over heard her tell me it could?! Seriously, would I have left if she said it could have been done?!? The girl took the form while I was there and left, then came back saying no this couldnt be done without an appointment... I ended up going back in to get it done since its an hour drive for me to get home, the girl who handled it was sweet, they took me to a backroom (so I wouldnt run into the dr or nurse)

This rating is for the office staff. I had my legal representative request my medical record/billing statement for a time sensitive case and when I went in person to obtain them for my own benefit, the office staff assured me they had sent the information request via fax out. Then I checked with my legal representative and she told me she didnt receive them. So I called the office once again and they now inform me they had complications with their fax. Which btw they should have called to let me know of this error. So of course this leads to delays. I called back needing to speak with Ms. Barrera herself and they leave me on hold for 35 minutes which I have the picture to prove it. No one could pick up the line and give me any kind of answer. I called from another phone and they said they were having difficulties hearing me so I called from the land line and no one picked up. Finally after so many attempts I got ahold of Ms. Barreras nurse and she took my message to speak to the doctor. Honestly I dont think she will relay my message based on the service I received over the phone. Good luck to her now and future patients whom she is not at fault for her staffs behavior.

The doctor is five star but the front office is zero star. The receptionist hollars out ur copay instead of waiting for u to get to the desk, patients can hear personal conversations (about hair and texting) plus ---I scheduled my appointment and when I got there they sad I didnt have one. Dr Barrera is awesome, the nurses are sweet - but the lady in the front bring the practice from a five star to a one start.

My daughter has seen Dr. Barrera for about 2 years and we love her and the entire office staff! Dr. Barrera is very sweet and very knowledgeable, we will continue to see her for years to come!
