What can I say?! An office manager and dentist with NO ethical standards and disregard for their clients. My family of 4 have been going to Ivy Lane for 5-6 years. My father was military, I went to Cole, so of course, we were seen across the street! Fast forward to the summer. I am a college student with Tricare Young Adult Prime. Dr Westerberg extracted all four of my wisdom teeth and I opted for the sedative. The procedure went very smoothly. Here is the trouble, the office charged Tricare $1400. Of course right? Why not charge an insurance company the full of amount possible? I paid the out of pocket expense of $500. To my unfortunate knowledge, I lost my dental coverage because of my age. My balance was around 900. I had asked if there was anyway possible that I could get a discount for paying all cash for the remaining balance. The office manager only offered my 5%. 5%??!?! The average cost for a single tooth extraction is 150 per tooth. Thats a 600 procedure. I was charged $350 per tooth. I explained to the office manager that I was a unemployed college student in my senior year , my father just had a heart attack, can not work, and just retired after serving 23 years in the army . . . basically that I am a broke college student with a copious amount of student loans. I told her that my family and I had been loyal customers and that I needed honest help because the money would come from my account for school books. The most Westerberg was willing to discount me was 10% . . . .and that was off the balance I already had, NOT the total amount charged to the INSURANCE COMPANY. It just really frustrates me that a dentist office would treat a loyal patient that way. A doctor has the option to not charge anything or offer work at a discount! Insurance companies have corrupted America and the hearts of practitioners and this a prime example. If you get the chance to read this, I hope the office staff knows that they not only lost a loyal customer, but also a family, and a copious amounts of potential clients. Trust me, I am in PR and I definitely know how the market operates. And, if you are considering getting work here, I do not have the right to criticize the work of Dr. Westerberg and his staff, but his ability to uphold any ethical standard and sympathy for his patients.

Dr. Westerberg should NOT be treating young children (if I must clarify this lets say under age 10)...I went here because the dentists where I originally took my children (Kool Smiles in McCreless) is kind of far, and as an Army spouse at Ft. Sam Houston- Ivy Lane is practically in my backyard. The preliminary visit was ok, but I started to have my doubts when Dr. W was unable to clean my three year olds teeth, he gave an excuse about how little kids need to "ease into" being seen by a dentist so it was normal not to be able to work on them (funny, because the dentists at Kool Smiles were able to clean BOTH of my kids teeth when they were ages one and four, and it was a quick, and even PLEASURABLE, experience!). The last straw was when I brought my five year old in for 2 cavities that needed filling. She was not cooperating with the use of the nitrous oxide mask. The doctor timidly tried to get her to wear it, but he was unable to convince her (or me). Then he half-heartedly offered to give her "purple juice" to sedate her. I asked her and she agreed to it. Then he left, I assume to get the meds. While he was out, the tech (who incidentally was very kind) advised me that the "juice" was $250 extra and NOT covered by insurance. I had to decline it. She went to tell the doctor AND I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. My daughter continued screaming and fussing and the tech and I tried to convince her to cooperate but it didnt work. We just had to leave without treatment and I had to be charged "Palliative care" for nothing which they told me would be covered by my insurance. I was very, very disappointed with Dr. Westerbergs "service". If you want a dentist who will act like a deer in the headlights when your young child is understandably nervous about seeing the dentist, then hes your man. If you want to be made to feel uncomfortable and unimportant, then again, hes the one you want. According to their website, the other dentist Dr. Ashby (who I believe is his wife) "loves children and has endless patience with them"- if this is true then perhaps she can use the title "Pediatric Dentist" but Dr. Westerberg should not...

I have been a patient at Ivy Lane Dentistry since 2006 and obviously as a happy customer, Im still here! Dr. Westerburg and Dr. Ashby are both professional, personable and skilled at what they do. I have missed several appointments over the years and their flexibility and willingness to work with me during those times showed me their commitment to quality customer service because I know when a patient miss an appointment, that often times leave gaps in scheduling unless a walk-in just happen to, well...walk-in. So, I highly recommend Ivy Lane Dentistry for ALL your dental needs, I am truly treated as if I was a family member!!!

Positive and friendly experience! My son who is a teenager has had negative experiences in the past, however this office has manged to make my son LOVE going to the dentist, they manage to make you feel comfortable and everyone is so professional, from the front desk to the hygienist and of course the doctors. My son is not afraid of going to the dentist, last year our insurance changed and we had to go elsewhere but it was so awful, we now have made arrangements to come back and everyone treated us as if we never left! Thank you for offering such a great service :)

Positive experience every time. I guess no one likes going to the dentist. Ivy Lane Dentistry will change your mind. Friendly staff, on time, soft relaxing music, professional, take care of problems without pushing for things you dont want or need. The staff is focused on your oral health and does everything they can to make your experience a good one. Ivy Dentistry was close by when my wife started there while we were on Active Duty. They became my dentists on retirement. We live on the opposite side of town now, but they are well worth the extra drive.

This is, hands down, the best dentistry experience Ive ever had. Theyre organized/efficient, up front about costs, and truly care about your health. As if that werent enough, everyone in the office is genuinely kind and happy to be there. Ive already recommended them to a friend, and I will continue to do so. Thanks Ivy Lane, youve made my mouth very happy.

Great dental experience! My 8 year old son actually looks forward to his visits because the staff is very friendly and patient. He enjoys watching cartoons while being treated and the staff is always very accomodating. Were seen in a timely manner and all the personnel are courteous and professional.
