This was my second time here, the first time being an average, pleasant experience. However, the second time was dramatically different. For an appt. scheduled for 9, they left me in the waiting room for 40 minutes. Then upon being ushered back to the office, I was passed between three different assistants before seeing Dr. Benator. Everyone staffed that day, including Benator were quite unpleasant to deal with, as they were all short with me, insensitive and unorganized. Little information was provided to me about what procedures they were taking and why, with most of them asking me what the person before had done. One of the assistants did not seem to understand how to use the machine correctly as she accidentally poked my eye several times with a piece of equipment that is not intended to touch my eye. Benator was unwilling to provide information to me about Lasik eye surgery, and then blamed me for asking further questions, exasperatingly repeating that she had already told me enough and that I am at fault for not understanding the procedure. I will no longer be returning to this optometrist. One star for having some up to date technology.

I recommend Dr. Benator to anyone looking for a top knotch opthalmologist! I saw a different eye doctor for 2-3 years before her, and several before that--I figured that one was as good as another. With the previous eye doctor, I was given a possible diagnosis of slight kerataconis. Each year after the diagnosis, it was just a given that I had keratoconis. Looking for a second opinion, I sought out Dr. Benator, who diagnosed my sister with keratoconis. It didnt take her long to determine, that, in fact, I dont have it, just astigmatism, as I always have had. Also, at her office they were able to get my vision to the 20/20 line clearly for my eye correction, which hadnt happened with the previous doctor, who never responded when I asked him about the 20/20 line still being fuzzy.

We showed up 10 minutes early. The front desk informed us they were down a technician so they were running late. We asked why they didnt call us to tell us. No answer. We asked how long was the delay. She couldnt say. Very unprofessional. Schedule with a clinic that values your time. Taking off of work costs money. We asked, they knew 1.5 hours before our appointment & were not busy: we have to notify you in advance..? But our time and money dont warrant consideration?

Dr. Benator is a wonderful eye specialist and surgeon. I have seen her many times for my yearly eye care and am very pleased with her and her staff. Mostly, though, both of my children have had LASIK / PRK surgery from her and it has completely changed their lives! I am truly grateful for her expertise, skill, and care. I would highly recommend Dr. Benator to anyone seeking outstanding vision care.

Ive been making annual visits to Dr. Benator for more than a decade, and have always received thorough and friendly attention in my eye check-ups. Dr. Benator also did my Lasik eye surgery 11 years ago. The surgery went smoothly; my very near-sighted vision was corrected and has remained around 20/20 since that time.

I couldnt be more pleased with my treatment from Dr Rachel Benator and her staff at Salt Lake Eye Associates. Not only was I personally taken care of throughout the entire process of my PRK surgery, I felt confident that I was in the best surgical hands in Utah. Thanks for everything!
