I am currently in the process of reporting westside dermatology for billing fraud. This is the process: 1) 1st time appointment. A 20 minute doctors appointment, testing on freckle. Told that he could give me IPL for only 400. Ive never had a doctor try to sell me something before, it was strange and I didnt like that for the first appointment, he didnt get a thorough medical history of skin. I pay my co-pay, I leave. 2) One month later, I get a call from the lab, saying that they needed payment because they never received any insurance information- Then Dr. Collyer misdiagnosed my exzema, which was bizarre to me. I give them my insurance, pay an additional copay and that is that. 3) Nine months later- I get a phone call from Westside Dermatology. Demanding payment, immediately. They claim they have sent notices- it is possible that they did, but I never got them. I ask for what- I have a premium insurance company- Ive never had any problem with them before on any doctors. Initially, they claim it is for the lab- but then I explain to them that I had separately settled things with the lab. Then they say that the insurance balked at paying their full price, and had not paid enough. I ask what they paid, and they inform me that my insurance had paid the normal first time doctors visit fee. ....which why would they need more? If I separately paid for the lab, and no other tests were done, what were they charging me for? They couldnt answer. I called my insurance company, and my insurance had found that the charges made were frivolous and excessive. Given that totalling the money they had already paid plus mine already totaled in excess of $200, and they were demanding $170 more- it seemed extreme. For a comparison, a cardiology first time appointment, including stress tests and ekgs, and 90 minutes, usually cost 200-350- and this 20 appointment with no baseline testing was worth about 400? 4) I call them back, and tell them to resubmit their claim with more rationale. I also tell them that if they are going to try to bill me, that they need to send me both a full breakdown of the bill and what Im being charged for and the medical records to go with it. At this point, my insurance had paid around $100 for the doctor + the lab costs, plus my $70 in copays- and they were still asking for a few hundred more. For a 20 minute appointment- nothing was prescribed, nothing was done, nothing was charted. But, they were charging me for a first time work up- which, as someone who works in the medical industry knows, requires a full medical background and history and diagnostic, base-line testing- none of which Dr. Collyer had performed. I call back 2x times, no one answers or calls me back. I never get the promised breakdown of the bill or my medical records. Today I found that they have the bill to the creditor, instead of giving me any of the paperwork I requested, most likely because they dont have it.

I happened to be able to get an appointment here with Dr. Sarah Sung I really did not like her. I do not need to like somebody in order to respect them. Dr. Sung is a heartless She informed me on Thursday that I had Pagets Disease and that she wanted me to go see a breast surgeon and then have me come back by her office to see in me in a month. I asked her why she needed to see me and she said "So I can check on you". WHA? I am not going to make an appointment with her to satisfy her curiosity. Oh, and then there was the part where she informed me that I had something called Pagets Disease. Then she sent me away. I had to find out that I had breast cancer all by myself in the car in her parking lot ALONE on my phone by myself. The internet informed me that I had breast cancer. I was informed by technology that I had cancer, a potentially life-threatening illness while I was in the parking lot alone by myself. Dr. Sung had been sitting on this information for 2 days. She didnt even bother to call me up 2 days prior to tell me that I had Pagets Disease. Because that would have been a preferable way to discover that I have breast cancer over the part where I found out in the parking lot of her office in the pouring rain alone without anyone to help me absorb the shock. Because she sent me out of her office thinking that I had some weird disorder... I had NO CLUE that I had breast cancer until I was out of her office. Dr. Sung is heartless for allowing that to happen to me

I was unsure about IPL treatments and went here because of a recommendation. This friend had a former esthetician, Jennifer, work on her and couldnt say enough great things. I would have to say I was not impressed by the visits. While I paid for partial treatments, which are not inexpensive, I felt the woman, who replaced Jennifer, Heather, spent very little time with the treatment, but was quick to set up another appointment. I understand that it takes several treatments; but, after two, very little change could be seen. She explained it would take many many more. Perhaps because her service was subpar. I decided to go to another office, in Bellevue. After two treatments there, my veins that I had wished to see fade -- were faded. The esthetician took twice the time in one visit that Heather took in one, and thus, I saw results. I understand its a money game; if you give them less, they need to come back for more. But, my new choice of office still has my business, because they didnt try and control my outcome, for their benefit. There are many other places that offer quality service, and deliver it -- with honesty.

Ive had consistently good experiences at Westside Derm over the years, and now that Im being treated by Dr. Krejci my visits are consistently great! She is smart, through and kind. I especially appreciate her incremental approach. Ive had a few biopsies over the years, they take a long time to heal. Recently she gave me some cream rather than do a biopsy on a suspicious spot and followed-up with me to see how I was doing. It cleared up and now I dont need the biopsy. Im so glad shes here!

I have been going to Westside Dermatology for 7 years, and have seen Dr Collyer several times and Dr Arnsten. My experiences have only been positive. The doctors sometimes run late, but so do many doctors elsewhere. To me, thats a sign that they are spending the time necessary with each patient and not rushing them in and out, which is my experience at every other medial facility.

Dr. Sung was thorough and professional. I found her demeanor kind and comforting. She was clear and made sure I understod my diagnosis and how we would proceed. I would highly recommend her. The staff was wonderful and easy to communicate with.
