MAKE SURE YOU ASK IF THE DENTIST THEY SCHEDULE YOU WITH IS IN YOUR NETWORK OF INSURANCE. THEY WILL HIT YOU WITH SURPRISE PAYMENTS EVEN AFTER ASKING BEFORE HAND. I had a very unwelcoming first visit to the office. First I did my research on my end to find a new center, I searched on BEST OF HAMPTON ROADS awards and saw this office was awarded Gold for Norfolk in Dental. It also was a location that popped up in my search for my insurance app for in net work locations. So Im thinking, perfect my insurance will cover my appointment and theyre the best in Norfolk. I agree with the award only because of my hygienist, Grace. She was perfect. I definitely recommend choosing her as your hygienist. But front desk. A mess. I call the office, tell her Ive never been there before and I told her Id like to make an appointment for a cleaning and I have MetLife insurance. She asks me for my information INCLUDING MY INSURANCE INFORMATION and schedules me the next available appointment. DOES NOT ASK ME WHICH DENTIST ID LIKE TO SCHEDULE WITH. The day of my appointment I come in and girl at the front desk takes my name and appointment time and has me take a seat. I sit for a while and thought I needed to fill out paper work since it is a my first visit so I get up to ask. I explain its my first visit and shes confused and apparently they didnt mark me as a new patient and so I had to give my information and identification then. Basically I had to initiate to do their jobs. Then I double check with them and ask if my insurance covers preventive care. She said yes. Then I just sat awkwardly because nothing was explained I just had to wait and I came in 30 minutes early to make sure paper work was completed for my first visit. So Im just waiting not sure what was next and finally a assistant called for me, she was really sweet. She asked the normal questions for a first visit had me sign papers and explained what she would be doing and what would happen next. I appreciated her because she kept me informed. She mentioned x-rays needed to be done so I again asked her if that would be covered so she goes to the front desk to ask and check for me and she returns saying yes. From that point to the end of my appointment was perfect. Then I got to the desk and had to pay a co pay so I was confused. I asked and the front desk lady said it was covered but theres a co pay. So Im confused. Im checking my benefits on my phone and reviewing my charges and it should have been 100% covered. Then the girl next to her had a condescending tone explaining how it was a out of network provider. That confused me because I searched and saw the location was in network. APPARENTLY, the DENTIST that saw me for two minutes was one of the few Dentists at the location that is considered out of network with my insurance and so they did not schedule me with one they had in network forcing me to pay a co pay. A CO PAY THEY DID NOT INFORM ME OF, AND I HAD ASKED TWICE ABOUT MY COVERAGE. So terrible experience with the front desk. Some feed back would be to review your patients coverage and make sure they get the best option available to them. REVIEW ANY NECESSARY PAYMENTS BEFORE HAND. And dont talk to any patient in a condescending tone because thats rude and unwelcoming. Youre the first and last interaction we have at the office and makes a difference on experience. I suggest hiring less air headed people at the front desk. And while I was waiting one had take out and taking bites right at the front desk and theyre all up there talking it just looked un professional. The people with degrees were great. Front desk people, obviously uneducated.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. So my wife went here about a year ago for a root canal. The tooth had an abnormal root, so instead of sending my wife to a specialist, the dentist guaranteed her that he could do it and ahe would never have to worry about it again. So she goes to the front desk, gets the price for the root canal, then schedules an appointment. A week later she gets the root canal done and we pay our bill. A few days later we get a bill from them, saying that we now owe them another $600 dollars. So we call and ask why they are charging another $600, and we were told that the lady didnt look up the information properly and gave us the wrong price. Fast forward a year, the tooth started giving my wife problems, so we went back to the Folleck center and they said that the doctor that did the root canal didnt get all the roots. And since the dentist that did the root canal was no longer there, they couldnt fix it. This is after we spent $1700. This place is a rip off. They give you one price, then after the work is done they charge you more by saying it was a mistake. Then, if you have to have something fixed they messed up on, they wont fix it. They dont care about the patient, they care about the money and how much they can squeeze out of you. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We paid $1700 to get a tooth fixed, that now has to be removed because the Folleck Center didnt want to do the right thing. This has happened to a lot of people, not just us. If you go there, I wouldnt get anything done other than a cleaning.

I have had a lifetime of bad dental experiences. I still dont like visiting the dentist, but at least I have Korina and Dr. Attia at the Foleck Center when I need to have work on my teeth done. I am in my mid-thirties and have moved from to all corners of the United States-I have never met someone as patient and attentive as Dr. Attia. His "bedside manners" are impeccable and hell quietly explain all the procedures...or not, if you dont want to know what the steps are. Hes not pushy, offers a lot of options, and made me feel like he had all day to just do my teeth. Korina, the dental assistant, also had amazing bedside manners and made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend the Foleck Center for anyone struggling with anxiety or a phobia when it comes to dental work!

I was on travel for work and the crown on my front tooth crack and fell off at dinner. We were staying in downtown Norfolk so the next morning I walked into The Foleck Center. They fit me in and after seeing Dr. Foleck he suggested I drive 10 minutes to their Military Hwy office and they could get me a permanent crown. I got over there around 10:30 am and by 12:00pm I walked out with a new permanent crown. Oksana actually took a 3D scan of my teeth to create the tooth instead of the normal messy way you take an impression. The tooth fit perfectly...I was SO happy they were able to not only fit me in but get me a permanent crown so I could get back to work. If I lived in the area they would be my family dentist.
