I have used the services of Dr. Sumner since 2005, with wonderful results in the context of very positive patient experiences. I have moved from the Gainesville, VA area, to Maryland (about 65 miles away) but make the 130 mile round trip to his offices for all of my dental services. I am 66 years of age, and have had extensive/expensive dental work done throughout my life. The veneers that were integrated into my smile nearly 10 years ago were absolutely beautiful. As a result of my age and the non-robust nature of my teeth, I have just, this week, completed major dental surgery and replacement of my upper teeth at the hands of Dr. Sumner and Dr. Burger (Oral Surgeon, also located in Gainesville, VA) with terrific results, once again. Dr. Sumner has over the years taken much time in dialogue with me before and during each of the processes of my dental care, managing my expectations along with my dental health in the most positive relational experience that I have ever had with any provider of dental services. I highly recommend Dr. Sumner to anyone who is looking for excellence in artistry, and expertise where the health and cosmetics of teeth are concerned, in the context of a caring, communicative, patient-service oriented environment. Dr. Sumner has worked on my teeth for years now. He is a great dentist. Recently, Dr. Sumner put a crown on my tooth – it was so perfect, I can’t even tell I have it. His surgical assistant, Kim, flawlessly assisted the doctor during the procedure. The whole office is exceptional, especially with children. I have observed how Bonnie, the hygienist, and Dr. Sumner works so patiently with children. Their little patients, and adults, love them. Dr. Sumner’s daughter also works in the office and has the best mentor in the area. She is also an excellent dentist. Ms. Sumner, the receptionist, is a former university professor, very nice, and does a great job processing patient records quickly. The staff is professional, thorough, extremely gentle, and very proficient at their work. I would highly recommend Dr. Sumner and his outstanding staff. If you want a patient-friendly and highly skilled dentist, Dr. Sumner is the best in the area without exception.
