Cross-posting this from Yelp to Google, because I realized there was a medium that I hadnt posted on yet. Generations has been going downhill consistently for the last year or two, and today was the absolute last straw. Before I rant about today, let me go over a few other of the great things about Generations. -No one answers the phone when you call, except to put you on hold -The only time this rule doesnt apply is when youre waiting in line, and the receptionist takes every call that comes through very dutifully -You have to manually call in prescriptions to a voicemail line, and wait for them to call you back. Sometimes its in two days. Sometimes its in two weeks. -The doctors are never in. -Scheduling takes MONTHS -They have pet projects that theyll robo-call you to spam you with, without permission Now, to today. I went in after calling in my prescription, only to be surprised to find that they had written it for half of my normal dosage. I asked, and the receptionist told me that "It has been that way since July". It hadnt, but I didnt have any proof at the time. Further, my doctor wasnt in the office, and apparently wasnt reachable via the phone, so they couldnt help me at all. I left after she started arguing with me. I went home, found the bottle that was distinctly labeled for the correct dosage, and brought it back. The person who was there when I got back immediately blamed the confusion on the previous person, saying that she was "new". She then looked through my records, and was unable to find record of any of the other prescriptions I filled for the correct dosage. I kept telling her the correct dosage, and she kept writing down the wrong one. Then she said she would have one of the other providers sign my prescription, since my primary wasnt there and I had the bottle to prove I was right. After waiting ten minutes, I got helped by another person who less-than-gracefully told me that they had no idea why I was asking for the right dosage, because I had been getting half the normal dosage and half of another type of pill since July, and I very overdue for a followup. I tried to show her the bottles and the discrepancy, and she wasnt able to explain it, and refused to give me the correct dose due to my primary physician not being there. I requested copies of my records to try to figure out where the problem was, but apparently no one there was able to get them for me. This place is a joke. A pathetic, disorganized joke. Run away as far as you can.

I have gone to Dr. Bao Nguyen for several years now. In my opinion he is by far the best doctor in the Washington Metropolitan area. His diligence in pursuing an accurate diagnosis is unsurpassed. He was instrumental in diagnosing a very rare form of lung cancer, a carcinoid tumor, which I believe would not have been found had he not been thorough in his approach and through his kindness and urging gotten me to be persistent in my follow-up. His ability to put you at ease so that you are comfortable communicating your symptoms, coupled with his superlative communication skills enables him to best determine what course of action needs to take place to resolve your illness. Unlike other doctors he understands the stress associated with waiting for results particularly as they pertain to cancer and ALWAYS called me to discuss my results as soon as he received the reports. I have had occasion to have many diagnostic tests and even the professionals in the imaging facilities have let me know how lucky I am to be Dr. Nguyens patient. His kind manner and persuasive skills convince you of the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid medical risks and at his urging I have attended a Diabetes education course to address Diabetes before it becomes necessary for me to take medication. Generations practice is well run with a friendly helpful staff and I have rarely had to wait longer than 10 minutes which is quite unusual and contrary to the specialists appointments where I have waited hours just to see the doctor. I have recommended many friends and my family are patients as well and each and every one is extremely happy with Generations Family Practice. I can truly say I trust Dr. Nguyen with my life and would urge anyone to become a patient of his. He has been voted best doctor in Reston for 3 consecutive years and that designation is more than well deserved!

I needed a simple thing from this office: to have a prescription refilled. In my efforts to refill this prescription, my pharmacy and I have been calling this office for 6 days. I myself have called 8 times, left 3 voicemail messages, and sent 1 email in any attempt to make contact with the office. After calling 8 times in 6 days, I was able to speak with a human being only 1 time. I thought finally now that I had a person (Kimberly) on the line, my issue would be resolved. Instead, Kimberly put me on hold, then asked me to hang up and wait for someone to call me back. I asked why the issue could not be resolved immediately, but Kimberly could not provide an explanation. Finally, I agreed to hang up, asking that someone call me back within the hour. Of course, no one did, and no one picked up when I tried again to call back later. At the end of the day, I received a voicemail from the office asking me to call back and leave a voicemail with my personal information.... Yet, I had already done EXACTLY THAT 3 times at this point. I dont understand why I am expected to call and provide my personal information a FOURTH time. I do not understand why my request to refill a prescription is continually ignored or lost. The inefficiency and incompetence of this office has now left me with no medication and apparently no way to even speak with a representative, much less to obtain a simple refill. I am furious. There is no excuse for this degree of incompetence and I have no intention to see this office again or to recommend it to anyone.

Do not go here! BEWARE! It is absolutely disgusting how the team runs this facility. Its like pulling teeth to get prescription refills. We sent a request for a week and still no reply. All the secretaries put you on hold just because they dont want to deal with problems. STEPHANIE left me hanging and was suppose to process a prescription refill, left me waiting at the pharmacy for over an hour and half. Not professional. They only care about getting you in there to bill you and your insurance. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THEM, there are better, more professional, friendly, organized doctors offices to go to. I find it funny that my pharmacy and I blew up their phones and no one would answer and then all of a sudden, it would go to voicemail stating they were closed. Shortly afterwards, I was beyond pissed that I had been waiting for so long, I decided it is time to leave a review. Within the next ten minutes, abracadabra.... I received a voicemail saying they processed it. An additional half hour later, I receive another voicemail saying they saw my google review. WTH?? If I did not leave this review, I put money on it, it would not have gone through. You questioned me in the voicemail, yet you should already know the answers. Read all the other negative reviews, its the same BS that everyone goes through everytime.
