Bottom line, WHY would a clinic argue and discourage buying contacts from a seller they do business with by using the excuse of complications in the making of the lens when everything would go smoothly if they would submit the same information I would transfer to that same company? UGH these people go out of their way to make an extra dollar and end up losing hundreds to bad service and a lost customer. I was warned they get head over heels if you try to buy your lenses somewhere else, and shouldve heeded it earlier. I thought this place was different. I was right; theyre worse than your average lowdown asian eye clinic (Im asian so this has nothing to do with race). This was honestly the only horrendous experience I have ever had in my life with..well, anything and anyone that I felt passionate enough to help everyone else with. This place has absolutely nothing going for it, except for the fact that it is conveniently located in chinatown for some people...Aside from Greg Chin being a great eye doctor, this place will suck you in to buy their lenses and glasses. When I came in to pick up my prescription to buy elsewhere, I of course notoriously knew about this reputation so tried to stray away from the very ugly scene that may occur. What I received was a sheet only with my address, theirs, a signature, and SPHERE info for both eyes (it is COMPLETELY illegal to withhold the brand and other information which was not included in my printout upon request). I was told that BOSTON makes my contacts and highlyy, repetitively discouraged from purchasing elsewhere with the same statement, "Well its a very complicated lens and we cant guarentee anyone can make it the same way. We dont discourage you from buying elsewhere but our price is unbeatable." SOOO, when I stated I could get these lenses for less than 40$ each and overnight shipping was only $20, I was notified that "WELL you cannn buy them somewhere else, up to you but..(insert statement 1 again and again..and again). Was I not just proving that price was stated as unbeatable..and it isnt? ROSE was not helpful at all, and was very snide and had a HORRIBLE attitude for no reason. If this was handled in a better manner, of course I would not be ranting about it. When I brought up that I didnt know why they were arguing and yelling for no reason, she began to yell "Im not yelling at you Im just letting you know" while trying to just close the obviously lost arguement. Its not like I havent bought lenses here every other year of my life; I told her its not like I wont be purchasing from them again, but at this rate, HA? can you say lost a customer forever and not going to be recommended for any other potentials?? This is not just one of those "OH maybe she just had a bad experience" things. If you dont buy your glasses or contacts from these guys, theyll try to drain the life out of you. But Id like to point out after this review, they might possibly change that fact just to up their game. I dont think this even comes anywhere near touching base describing the service this place has offered me, but the unbelievable disrespect and level of customer service I had received was undeniably appalling!! Utterly unprofessional and I could not even rack my brain trying to figure out why this place is still standing, aside from cheap outdated glasses people may not mind and dr. gregory chin. I guess you could say hes the only thing going for this place and the gold nugget in a pile of sht.

I went to Seattle Vision Clinic on the recommendation of a friend that told me the doctors were great. My friend was correct, Dr. Kikuchi was great (friendly and very professional), but the optical side of their business was absolutely appalling. I had brought in a vintage frame to have my new prescription put in. As she was preparing the order, the woman told me that there was some risk involved with using a vintage frame. Having at least 15 vintage frames done over the last 25 years at various opticians without any incident, I took my chances. I got a call 10 days later telling me that the lab had broken my frame. They were apologetic, but did not offer any compensation for my broken frame. (Later they told me that was their policy, but they never informed me of that fact in advance. They only warned me about breakage.) Nevertheless, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought in a new frame to have my lenses put in. 2 weeks later when I got the new glasses home, I noticed that the $150 anti-reflective coating was not applied, so I had to go back again. 2 weeks later, when I got the glasses back, they seemed fine in the store, but again, when I got home, I noticed that my left eye vision was blurry. (When I rotated the frame slightly, it was fine.) I went back to Seattle Vision Clinic and the manager, Eva, adjusted the frame. Again, they seemed fine in the store, but later I noticed the same problem, leading me to believe that the lens was ground incorrectly. I went back a fourth time and after defensive and rude treatment by the staff, I became fed up and politely ask them to take the lenses out of my frame and refund my money. The woman said, “We can’t do that”, but I persisted. After talking to manager Eva, she came back and said they would refund $400, but they could not refund the $150 that my insurance company had already paid them because, “They already made the lenses.” At that point I just wanted to be done with Seattle Vision Clinic, so I agreed. (I figured losing $150 was worth it.) In closing, I’d like to say that I am definitely not a complaining, hard to please customer! (In fact, this is the first online complaint I have ever written.) I’ve just had enough! Whatever you do, don’t have your glasses made at Seattle Vision Clinic!!

This place is the my favourite. I went here for the first time when I first got contacts, back in 2004. My first experience there was negative. I was a 13 year old queer kid, fabulous as hell. I went to get my eyes examined wearing a pink miniskirt, and my somewhat tense relationship with Dr. Greg started with that... I think he was uncomfortable with me wearing a skirt. He had me try on glass contact lenses, and they shocked my system, and he kind of barked at me like a drill sergeant in response. I came away feeling yelled at and frightened. But that was a long time ago... and I was a pretty meek kid. Although my relationship with Dr. Greg has remained a little tense, the good times Ive had with the women who work behind the front desk and help me choose frames have more than made up for it, so Ive come back for a visit almost every year for almost ten years. Once, Rose (I think it was Rose) stayed with me for nearly an hour past closing, and we just had a blast trying on different frames... her fashion advice was detailed and sincere. Theres another woman who works there that I dont remember the name of who can never stop laughing. Shes really helpful and will monologue about the history of glasses as she helps you try on vintage frames, laughing through her words the whole time. Its awesome. A lot of the frames there are vintage, and as a result, their selection has a lot more variety than more modern places.
