A Private User

This is a non-profit run by grants. Donations are accepted. They run a variety of support groups led by a number of part time paid staff. The only two support groups I attended were those for schizophrenia (when I was misdiagnosed) and the ones for manic-depressives (bipolar disorder). The 1st group was led by a man who droned on and on. I did meet some nice people there and the benefits of natural supplements like omega rich fish oil capsules were discussed. The 2nd group was also led by a man whom I found rather pompous. Again, I did meet some nice people there but there was one woman who was a know-it-all. Another woman kept talking about herself and she went on and on. I thought to myself, "wow, this is the exact same way I talk about myself. No wonder some people think Im an arrogant braggart!" Although I realize she was being factual about herself, she didnt realize that she was dominating the conversation. Im glad I met her because I try to keep my mouth shut now and I still have a tendency to interrupt people. They sometimes hold art groups in the summertime and they also have a free computer lab you can use. However, the computer lab is not staffed by technicians that know how to protect the computers from dangerous downloads.

I have been a member of TACID for a number of years now, and it is a pity that our government is willing to spend billions on war but not support places like this. Which has forced them to cut back on some of their staff and programs.

The volunteers that came in are rude expect the front desk. I was there last yr and Im being treated like Im a loser and dont know anything anymore. I was kept out of the loop while I was gone

They have good programs and they are good help with housing and you can ask them for help with anything they always there help
