Meals Family Dentistry was A-W-E-S-O-M-E from start to finish! When I first called the office about making an appointment as a new patient, the greeting over the phone was professional and the time she took to take my info and schedule me was flawless. I didnt feel like I was rushed or bothering someone by calling. My appt was scheduled for 1/18/17 but I received a call on 1/2/17 advising they had a couple of openings on 1/3/17 and would I like to change my appt. I concurred and now was set for 1/3/17 @ 145pm. Usually you need to put yourself on a waiting list to get called for an earlier appointment. Not with Meals Dentistry, they were proactive and called me. So yesterday I arrived for my appointment. I was greeted with a smile and such professionalism displayed from the front office staff from start to finish. Once I was signed in and my chart/folder created, I was called back by Corey. Corey is such a pleasant, professional, and caring individual. She spoke to me the entire time, from explaining what she was doing, how things are done at Meals Dentisty, to even being personable about her private life. Its important to be a people person in her field, because its not just the dental hygienist and dentist that makes an impression on you, so does the assistants. I cant say enough about Corey, she made me feel welcomed and at ease. So the x-rays are complete and now we are waiting on Dr. Meals. This is the moment of truth, is this to good to be true, great front office staff, great assistant, and now what am I going to think of the Dentist. OMG, absolutely, positively, impressed the heck out of me. Dr. Meals took the time to go over my x-rays and give me a game plan of treatment, just as Corey said he would. No negativity towards me, I could feel my body becoming less tensed. I may have walked in there apprehensive about this appointment because i have never liked going to the dentist but i walked out of there with a feeling of relief and with a smile on my face. Thank you Meals Dentistry for providing me with every aspect of a great dentist visit. I surely hope if you are reading this rating because you are looking for a new dentist, that you give Meals Family Dentistry a call, you wont be disappointed.

Friendly staff, but service is unacceptable. Gave them insurance to process and after work was all done. My wifes insurance was under my moms name. The primary and secondary insurances were backwards and it ended up being a huge difference between estimated out of pocket and actual out of pocket pay. I prepaid 230 dollars and after everything was said and done i was told i would be paying over 700 more out of pocket! The financial lady who was very nice, explained that my other insurance company could still pay towards it because it was still being processed. That is not what someone wants to hear, but it did help ease the though of paying it all. I am now sitting on a balance of 216 and there is still some processing with insurance. I lost insurance coverage through my SECONDARY holder and called today, the day of appointment, to double check if i could still go and be covered. The lady had some issues once again with My wife being the Delta Insurance holder and my mother being the Guardian Insurance holder. She called me back and confirmed that I had insurance Coverage through Delta Dental because they reset the first of the year. The most aggravating thing is she said the only way i could get my teeth cleaned is if i pay the 175$ out of pocket. The reason being Delta Dental would send me a check directly, instead of going to them. Unfortunately I do not have the pleasure of having 175 dollars to just hand over with ZERO notice. The last time I was there , I was not informed that i would have to make a payment to get the work done. Well Guess What! I had to Cancel! Yep, do to the fact i couldnt had them 175 dollars to do the work, I get a 75$ charge!!! Unbelievable!! They will take your money any way they can! She says you called and said you cant make it.... I called and said I cant pay 175 dollars out of pocket! You said i couldnt come if i couldnt pay!! Charge the 175 to my account until the check comes you greedy individuals. Moral of story know what is paid for and TRIPLE check with your provider on what they will pay exactly. I will be going to a dentist that can actually help me, not cost an arm and leg. Thanks for what you did for me, but highly disappointing after the good things ive heard.

Conscious sedation denistry is BULLCRAP !!!!! The right side of my face is so swollen and sore from cuts inside my right cheek !!!! I think they just sedate you so you cant talk for real !! So if it hurts you cant talk !!! And then the dentist had the nerve to keep telling me I had to hold still !!! And at one point he told me there was no way I could feel anything that I just really needed to hold still...Well #1 if it didnt hurt I may have held still !!! They say you are relaxed and could care less what they do and will have little or no memory of what they did ha yeah thats a freakin lie !!! I remember everything except for when they werent messin with me and I could actually sleep !!! I had to take 2 valium Monday night and then 3 other sedation meds at 6:30 Tuesday morning which was the morning of the procedure!! When I got there I wasnt sedated enough to their likings they had me open my mouth and the nurse literally threw another pill down my throat !!! And then they proceeded to stick the needle all threw my mouth to numb me which was horrible !!! And then the dentist went out the the assistance started cleaning my teeth oh and lets not forget they gave me a couple more shots in my mouth !!!! Well I felt a horrible amount of pain throughout the process of them beating on a wedge to separate the tooth they were pulling away from the good tooth!!! It totally made me think of someone hitting a nail with a hammer !!! It was more than a tap thats for sure !!!! It was just a total nightmare !!! And then Tuesday night from having to much sedation medication and the numbing meds or something at around 11:30pm I passed out in my kitchen and fell against the corner of my fridge and hit my head and back hard !! So not only is my mouth sore from them cutting it all to hell and back im sore from passing out !!! Basically the sedation meds obviously didnt work like they should and me not holding still should have been the first clue but I guess not ....The staff and nurses were very nice dont get me wrong...But as far as the procedure and all that NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK THERE AGAIN !!!!

If considering using them, DONT. I initially thought after my first visit/consult that I would be in good hands. Boy was I wrong. I had the two fillings done and did ok, but once he got to the first extraction and was having his assistant bang some instrument into my mouth making my brain feel as if it were shaking I cried out in pain, not pressure, but pain he tells me Im numb. So basically Im a liar. Finally once my breathing was out of control and tears are running down my face he says "well take a break." The assistant says I know its awkward and a lot of pressure I yelled "its pain too." He leaves the room without a care of how Im doing. Comes back in 5 or so minutes later and she says to him "she says she is having pain too." He disgustingly says "Ill give you more novacaine. Which ended up needing to be 3 more shots on the bottom before getting that tooth out. Now we move to the top left to get that one out. He says he has to give me a shot in the roof of my mouth which hurt like hell. Again Im having this instrument banged into my gum and Im in pain. He gives two more shots. He gets up and walks out of the room in the middle because someone slammed a door. After this horrendous experience he tells me "yea that was rough. You will feel awful for a few days like a mule kicked you in the face. Ive given you the highest pain medication I can." That was before I even knew what he gave. He gave Norco 5-325 and only 8 pills. After all that novacaine do you really think these are gonna touch my pain?? Ive never been any type of addict and do not take pills like that, but my tolerance has always been extremely high. I will NEVER EVER go there again or recommend this rude, uncaring, flat out mean dentist to anyone. I have good insurance and paid out of pocket for the remainder and to get treated like some junkie that doesnt know anything is a complete insult.
