Pros: Cafeteria on the tenth floor with the beautiful view, Pediatric and Adult Psychiatric Unit, The Oncology Unit, and the very clean bathrooms. Cons: location and parking (especially now that they are resurfacing the underground parking lot), Patient Relations- the worst ever, the ER totally violated HIPPA last time and needs customer service training. And to end with some pros: Most doctors and nurses are great- however there are a select few that are giving the hospital a bad name. It is a pro because most are great- but those select few will be getting bad reviews.

My grandma survived 3 cancers while hospitalized here. My mom had an excellent gal bladder surgery that the doctor took extra hours on to make sure it was as painless as possible. I was treated here with gastritis and for emergency trips. The doctors are understanding, kind, very generous and intelligent. Not to mention the cafeteria is excellent. I wouldnt mind going just for food! If you need an ER trip, have someone drive you to lutheran general. You wont get better care anywhere else.

Funny I left a review and its missing. Well lets try this again. FYI this hospital does not have a board certified doctor on staff after late hours in the ICU unit only a bunch of resident in training. So that being said leaving your loved one in the care of resident is not in your best interest.

ER wait time was absurd. 3 and a half hours just to get to a room. An hour after that for nurse to come in. Another 2 and a half hours for doctor after nurse and another 40 min to get discharge papers...never again. Almost 8 hours. Could have home to Cook County and had less time to wait.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to schedule an appointment over the phone. Answering machine every time for two days so far, may be nobody likes to talk on the phone there? And this is just the first contact with this place, what will happen next I can only guess. Should I send a pigeon with my message?
