This place is bad. Really BAD. So bad my experience sounds like something from a movie. I could write a book, but Ill give you the spark notes version. I took my daughter to Familia rather than her regular dentist because it had just opened up down the street and was much closer. Had I known how bad this place was, Id just taken her the 7 miles out of town to her regular dentist. Really have no one to blame but myself for not heeding all of the bad reviews. I waited 3.5 hours for my daughter to finish her exam. At any given point, there were no more than 4 people in the waiting room and I saw only 3 people exist the back office in that 3.5 hours worth of time. I have no idea why it would take that long. The waiting room really could use someone who is staffed to sweep it and maybe wipe things down a bit. The hygienist came out to chat with the receptionists in that time, and sat spinning himself around in a swivel chair, during the 3.5 hours I sat waiting for my daughter to be finished. After seeing this, I go up and ask the receptionist how much longer the exam will be, because I told my boss I would be in late, not that I would miss my whole shift. They popped back into the office and told me they should be done soon. It was another 30 minutes before I saw my daughters face again. My daughter came out and had pain in her mouth starting that day and continuing for several weeks thereafter. She said the hygienist tried to crape off some "built up fluoride" on her teeth but seemed to have scraped off actual enamel. When I tried to schedule an appointment for my daughters regular dentist, they said they would need the dental records from Familia. No problem, right? I called Familia to have them emailed. Keep in mind you never call the office directly, you call a national call center who communicates with the office for you, or transfers you. So I request (though the call center) to have my daughters records emailed and gave the email address. Called regular dentist the next day. Not received. Call Familia back to request again. Regular dentist still didnt receive. Called Familia a 3rd time and ask to be transferred to the clinic. This time I spoke to a lady directly who said she was "sending them right now." Called regular dentist next day, records not received (!!!!) Requested they check spam and junk folders. Nope, definitely not received. Finally, I go to pick up the records and they give me printed copies of the x-rays. I take the x-rays to regular dentist. They say they cant read them. Call Familia a 4TH TIME and ask them to email ME the records. I receive them and forward them to regular dentist. While in for my daughters dental appointment with the regular dentist, they tell me that the x-rays were so poorly taken that they cant see anything. Mind you by this point my daughter has been eating on one side of her mouth for a month because of what Familia Dental did to her tooth. I tell the regular dentist to take new x-rays but they refuse because of the radiation exposure and she must now wait 6 months to have more x-rays taken. Because they cant see Familias x-rays they can do nothing about her teeth. She just has to suffer because Familia hires poor hygienists to work in their clinics. Thanks, Familia!

Waiting room is dirty and not maintained. Chairs are stained and disgusting. Im not expecting perfection but basic cleaning would be good. Floors not vacuumed. The bathroom toilet was broken and instead of closing off they just let people continue to use it even though would not flush. If they cant even maintain these simple cleaning steps i dont have much faith in their ability to give sanitary dental service. Staff is nice but scheduling is terrible. 40 minutes to get called back. Another 15 minutes for the dentist to come in, even though i had appointment 6 months in advance. And then dentist spent the whole time talking to her assistant about some other person who was receiving state assistance and should be able to get a job or something like that, all of which had nothing to do with me and was very unprofessional conversation to have while fixing my sons cavity. They obviously have bad time management or are over booking appointments. Overall my thoughts are they are more concerned about the money and number of patients they get in than anything else. Its a shame because this area needs this kind of service and this office should be maintained better. Clients can be difficult in this area i know but that does not mean a business should compromise their integrity and give unprofessional results. There are many decent and hard working people in the area needing this kind of service.

Dr. John Nguyen is absolutely amazing. He does the best job possible, considering the stress -- he went from patient to patient, without a break it seemed. What he did on me (adult, with broken tooth) and my teenage son, is of stellar quality. He is gentle, extremely dexterous, kind and includes his patient in his "care team". I did not feel at all like just a number! His helper Savana, was also so good, precise, relaxed, professional and kind at her job. It is really too bad that I will need to wait another 5 months, in May, to get the next step of the treatment Dr. Nguyen ordered for MARCH. That is not good, even though I was told that people cancel "all the time" and I could find a spot sooner. The quality of the care I received, from the Dr. Nguyen and Savana team is a 5 +++ for sure. The organization in the office is a 3. I feel they are mostly all trying their best... but maybe they should be some sort of rules about cancelling... ???? so that people who are waiting to get in get a spot sooner. All in all I am super grateful for Familia to accept my Molina ins. Indeed most (all??!!) other dentists in the area do not. Familia is doing a great service to this community, by accepting most insurances, and no insurance too. Thank you!

Dr. Pingle is awesome, however I dont like waiting 5 months to get in for an appointment. I made an appointment in August for December. I called a week before my appointment to confirm it. A couple days before my appointment, I got a message from Familia, so I called them back and again confirmed my appointment. I was told that the system was "down" and they werent able to confirm my appointment and to disregard any more calls if I got any.I then received 3 more calls over a two day period (no messages). This wastes not only my time but the employees time also. I understand computers go down but this was for 2 days and also, it would seem like there would be some way to print off the daily appointments and do it the old fashioned way of confirming with a check mark?? Also, because I am on heart medicine, Dr Pingle prescribed me antibiotics which I took an hour before my appointment. However, once I got to the exam room, the DA asked me if I had eaten that morning, which I had not. I was supposed to eat, but not once did anyone tell me that.!! I am happy with Dr. Pingle, she is a very good and nice dentist and all the staff I have had interaction with are professional and friendly.
