Dr. Manesis is on top of his game with his experience and thoroughness when it comes to animals. I currently live in California but I was home on vacation when my french bulldogs prior eye injury was acting up. It was getting swollen and just didnt look right. So I brought him to Throgs Neck Animal Hospital for treatment. Dr. Manesis diagnosed the matter right off the bat and even showed me the research behind the symptoms and problem. He prescribed Bodey some eye drops and his problem was resolved. Some veterinarians have a reputation of giving you the run around. Giving you a laundry list of information that you cant decipher nor have the time to. Dr. Manesis gave me a quick rundown of the problem and I walked away knowing 110% my little buddy Bodey was taken care of and I have the knowledge of what was going on with his eye on the cellular level. I am a former Naval Officer and active civil servant in Southern California. I serve my community and I give you my word that Dr. Manesis serves his fellow customer and their pets with respect and dignity. I know when someone if genuine and real and when someone is fake and dishonest. Dr. Andy Manesis is as real as they come. He will call it how it is and give you his honest opinion. He even called me a week later to see how Bodey was doing and told me if anything else happened to send him pictures of the situation. Now for a vet to do that over the phone for a client who lives across the country it speaks tremendously about his character and commitment to all pets.

Dr Manesis is fabulous, and his office staff were great too! I brought my cat Bear in as an emergency, he got a bad bite by a stray in a summer night fight (I saw it!). It was the weekend, I couldnt get any usual place nearby to take us, also I was working so had to get up super early to find a good, available vet. I cleaned the puncture wounds through the night, but could see already he was getting a fever and lethargic. Luckily, Throggs Neck was open early and took us right away. They were very kind, gave me a break on price, as I went through a major health crisis during the year which put a big strain on my finances. Bears treatment was great, the Dr also discovered and treated an ear infection. At the followup, brought my 81 yr old mother and her 17 yr old kitty, he did great with them too (moms quite cranky). Couldnt be happier to have found such a wonderful vet so closeby, sorry it took so long!

I brought my sick 11 month old kitten in to the office on Saturday tearful as I did not know what was wrong with him. He had been vomiting and not eating for the past two days and not playing with his toys!!! I knew something was wrong, took him to the vet and Dr. Andrew and his staff were wonderful. He ran tests, gave my little guy something for his stomach, something to increase his appetite, all the while keeping me updated on what he was doing and explaining the possibilities. He was extremely informative and I can tell that he cared about the well-being of my kitten. He even conducted a follow up call a couple of days later to check on my little guy who is back to his playful, eating everything self. Thank you Dr. Andrew and your staff for the excellent service that you provided.

My husband and I went here in 2013 for our cat. She was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia and the vet told us she wasent going to live past 6 months. He wanted to do some expensive treatments for her. He also tried to sell us some cat food displayed in the lobby (we declined as his receptionist was miming "NO" "dont buy it" behind his back). We came home and decided to make her time with us as comfortable as possible. Nothing ever happened. Its 2017 and shes still with us. I went to another vet in Yonkers yesterday where they tested her for Feline Leukemia and Lo & Behold, the test was negative. Im so upset. We paid that man almost $1000 to lie to us and we believed for years we had a sickly cat when it wasnt the case. Just awful

Saved my dog Abbeys life! She was in a bad way when we brought her in and the regular local vet refused to fit her in even despite the emergency status. I called Throgs Neck Animal, explained her situation and they did not hesitate to say bring her in now. Dr. Manesis did everything to get to the root of the problem. Once he confirmed diabetes (with ketoacedosis and pancreatitis) he connected me to the Animal Specialty Center where she received great care. Throgs Neck Animal called often to see how she was doing and helped in Abbeys diabetes maintenance when she was out of the hospital. Im very grateful to everything they have done for Abbey. Shes thriving now and is like a puppy again.

My dog was so sick when I called and the first, younger receptionist was very sweet and they waived my fee. The second visit was stressful as they wouldnt see my dog until I handed the money to them first. That second, older receptionist needs to go as she was very nasty. The doctor brought my dog back to health and Ill always be thankful but it was costly and dealing with that lady was no fun. She had told me they closed at 6 when I asked because I had to pick up some medicine and I got out of work a little early to make sure I got there on time. I arrived at 5:45 and the place was closed. My experience overall was an even split of good and bad.

I brought my cat, Holly, in to see Dr. Manesis as an emergency visit. She had an abscess on her back that was gushing a horrible, smelly substance. She had a fever and was listless. It turned out to be a very bad infection. Dr. Manesis examined her, took care of the abscess, put in a drain and gave her the necessary shots. Dr. Manesis then gave me instructions, and meds to take home. Holly is doing better each day and will no longer have to wear "the cone" when the drain an the stitches are removed. I am 100% satisfied with the care Holly received and would recommend Dr. Menesis and he staff to anyone looking for a good and experienced vet.

Walked in and asked a question receptionist was rude right from the start. She asked if we had an appointment and said no that I had called and they said they can see him. She asked when I called I said Sunday she said its impossible no one is here so who did you speak to rudely and I said well that what I was told she could of easily say I might have called another place around that area or wrong number but she inisited that no ones in the office you cant call on Sundays. She then went on and said the doctors not in. How is a animal hospital supposed to be run with no doctor present. Bad first experience!!!

The staff was absolutely amazing! I thought my dog was dying. He had a fever, stopped eating, and would fall sideways due to weakness. It was heartbreaking and scary but once we stepped into the hospital, I felt safe and confident that they would be able to help my baby. After several test, they figured out the problem, scheduled the surgery and now hes like a brand new doggie! Let me not forget to mention that hes 14 years old but with the care that was provided, I think we added a few years to his life.
