Short Version: Dr. Aguirre was rude and disrespectful and didnt seem to like cats or problems that need him to get his gloves dirty. Long Version: It was already a bad day when my furry cat friend needed urgent care. First the receptionist was unpleasant and scowling. Normally I would let that go if the care was good (though in a time of crisis it was really awful). I arrived a little less than an hour before closing. Dr. Aguirre was cold and curt and clearly did not want to deal with my pet. With disdain he said they were closing soon and to take my beloved friend to an emergency place because he said it would take too long for treatment and he wanted to close on time. While waiting for him to bring my cat back I was talking to a very nice tech. I was worried and scared. She was kind and reassuring, then Dr. Aguirre walked in and literally clapped his hands at me and told me I had to go. I am certain it was only a couple minutes I expressed my concerns to the really nice girl before Dr. Aguirre was so totally rude, disrespectful and completely unempathetic to me and my furry friend. My pet and I were not to his liking. If he doesnt care about the animals or the people who love them and if they dont fit his "likeable" profile, then he shouldnt be in the vet business. Not only did he not provide service, he was rude about it. I was only polite to him. Anyway, as I was paying for the "service" there was a cute young dog there that he and the receptionist had plenty of time and affection for. The great news is that I went to the Animal Emergency Service in Selden and not only was the receptionist wonderful and helpful, but the vet and techs were informative and kind and helped my sweet pet to heal (and it didnt even take that long). So, dont go to Coram animal clinic unless you and your dog are perfect and dont mind a little abuse.

Ive been bringing my 2 dogs here for roughly 5 years now. They are good about quick appointments and reliable when it comes to advice and surgical procedures. Both of my dogs have had surgical procedures by Dr. Rowman, although we usually end up seeing Dr. Aguirre as our regular vet. Never had a problem there, so I dont understand the negative reviews. But I can relate to the lack of friendliness in the office. Ive been to other vets which had a much more welcoming vibe that is for sure. Im also not a huge fan of their pricing structure, but there is no such thing as a "cheap" vet office. They went to school, earned their degrees, they can charge what they like. However, I can say that you are crazy to go to the vet office to get most vaccines. Petco offers them for a fraction of the cost, so much so that I had to adjust my pet insurance plan as a result to justify keeping the insurance. But its about piece of mind. Go to Coram Animal Clinic for annual exams and when serious things arise. Otherwise use common sense, and be good to your pets and things will be fine.

We have been going to Coram Animal Hospital for close to 10 years, and while some employees were genuine the majority of staff care little for you or your pets. I had to put my dog to sleep today, a family pet that everyone loved. Morning of, he was having seizures at home and we called asking to come in to finally put him down, the woman who answered asked if we could come later in the day at 1 pm while it was 9:30 am to put our dog down who was in pain and was scared. We asked for sooner, and they said 10 am which we took. Once we arrived, the vet cared little for the situation. He had no emotion, only asked for us to bring him up on the table and did not speak. He seemed to just be going through the motions, not consulting us at all and overall a sad excuse for proper bedside manners. After our dog finally passed away, he simply said he was sorry for our lose and walked out without waiting for a response or anything. We are never returning again with our other animals, not after today.

Disappointed more than once at C.A.H. My dog is aggressive (muzzled), 70lbs, 8 years old with bad hips. The tech wanted to lift my dog up on to a 3 high stainless table so they could pull blood. My pup also needs chronic meds, I called to ask if there was a reduced price for chronic meds and Maureen was quick to say "No." I asked her if we could inquire to be certain, she put me on hold and came back with a reduced price. Ive always been a VCA client (Oakdale and Farmingdale, both of which are wonderful), but Coram really disappoints.

So disappointed with this office. Disappointed enough that I will not be returning. First time in and the vet rushed through everything to the point where I had to call and make sure that they are more thorough and conduct another exam the following day. I have been to 2 other vets previous to this one (due to relocation) and this is just too sub par for me. The women/aids that work the office werent nearly as affectionate or welcoming as Im used to. Maybe my bar is set too high but I will keep looking for a more caring office.

Coram Animal Hospital came highly recommended to me , especially Dr. Rowman. My 10 yr old Boxer needed surgery which was performed by Dr. Aguirre. They went above and beyond, and truly helped us in our time of need. I cant thank the staff enough for everything they did to help us. :)

We had to bring our little dog in for an emergency dental problem. Dr. Kirshbaum was very patient and caring. He took time to explain everything in detail. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I love the staff and the vets there. Dr K. I had to put my cat to sleep. They made her very comfortable & easier for me. Highly recommended.

Good, cheap vet. Disliked the "Office Manager", and the older receptionist, however. Everyone else is fine, especially Dr. K!!!!!
