I absolutely love this Dr!! My dog was found in a dumpster by an "Animal Sanctuary" in Florida ( pretty sure it was a puppy mill) We knew nothing about her when we agreed to fly the puppy to us in NY other than she had been "tried out" in 5 different homes before we got her at 10 weeks old. In the first 4 months we brought her to a different vet 17 times complaining that something was not right. After more appointments, medication and $$$ than i care to remember we brought her to the EA Vet hospital to be spayed. 2 hours after dropping her off we get a call from Dr. Dunaif asking if we knew our dog had a list of things wrong with her such as infections, inflamed intestines and so on. He patiently worked with us to get her feeling better. 2½ years later, aside from the occasional flare-up our dog is doing great. Dr. Dunaif and his staff are so caring and generous. You can tell they want whats best for the animal. Ive never had a problem getting an emergency appointment, and Ive often gotten return calls from the Dr. himself when I call with a question or concern. The Dr. can occasionally be a bit gruff and his bedside manner could use a little work but theres not a chance Id take my pets anywhere else. Tip: Be prepared to take a few notes. There have been multiple times where i wished i had something to write on as the Dr. was throwing out information and advice on how to best treat my dog.

Its really obvious Dr. Dunaif is passionate about what he does and goes above and beyond for the pets and the owners as well. My 1 year-old cat tested positive for feline leukemia and was all but given a death sentence at the vet i had gone to prior to East Aurora Veterinary Hospital. My girlfriend and i searched the web for vets that have access to the most cutting-edge treatments and brought Purrman Thomas (yes, you read that right) to Dr. Dunaif. He called the Tcyte manufacturer and spoke directly to the inventor of the Tcyte medicine, which is used to fight the leukemia and other serious conditions. He got them to send the meds overnight. After one shot Purrmans red blood cell count tripled. After the second shot, she no longer tested positive for feline leukemia and has continued to test negative since then. My girlfriend and I are really grateful and cant thank Dr. Dunaif enough for giving Purrman a second chance at life. And Dr. Dunaif has the scratch marks to prove how much stronger and healthier Purrman is!

We have been going to EA vet since we moved here 16 years ago. He has cared for 5 of our dogs and one cat over the years. He took care of 2 dogs that passed in a loving and caring way as if his own. We now have only a 5 year old chihauhau and a new puppy 4 months old. Doc has educated us and recently gone the extra steps to review our puppys blood work and xrays after result came back not normal before getting altered. Surgery was cancelled to make sure there wasnt a problem. He went out of his way to explain all his results. Our puppy had inflammed his stomach from each one too many wrong things as shown in xrays. I visited several vet offices before I chose East Aurora Veterinary Hospital. Being a nurse, I wanted my puppy Lola to see the same veterinarian on each visit so we could have a one to one relationship just like i have with my own doctor. Dr. Dunaif is warm and caring...He answers all my questions always willing to give helpful tips and suggestions. the staff is professional and caring . I have been with them for more than five years now and would highly recommend them to anyone ...THEY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN YOUR PET THAN YOUR WALLET!

My husband and I have a dog with special needs and this veterinarian went above and beyond to research and implement proper care, all the while remaining patient and caring towards us and our dog. Additionally, his prices are extremely reasonable and never left us feeling as though we couldnt afford to care for our beloved pet. I brought my one year old cat to the vet (lackawanna animal hospital) and was told there was "nothing they could do" and given a pamphlet of where to take her to have her put down. That day I found the tcyte website and the most wonderful vet in the world (Dr. Matthew Leland Dunaif)! Purrman Thomas is now negative for feline leukemia, healthy, and strong! I could never thank him enough for all he has done!

I feel so lucky to have found this dr and office. Its very obvious that this veterinarian is in this business because he loves animals. Care is amazing and prices are totally affordable. Staff are all friendly and helpful. And my favorite, his dogs greet you when you come in! And they are very sweet. We drive from Depew, totally worth double the drive!

It is obvious that Dr. Dunaif and his staff are real animal lovers and care deeply for the pets and their owners. Doc is great at taking the time to explain whats going on with our cat, what treatment is needed and why. When I was breeding dogs there was no where else I would take them and the puppies for care. Hes the best!
