I recently had to stay at Glens Falls Hospital and was so Pleased I decided to write a poem about my stay . What a wonderful Hospital ! I give it " 5 STARS " { WEST SIDE THREE } 2/7/14 Glens Falls Hospital Ill state my case - Im so happy Ive chosen this place Number one in excellence, That I can say - Again and again I see it each day The Emergency Room I could depend because of a special nurse there - Rebecca M. RN. As I lay here in my hospital Bed - I can hear the nurse as she quietly said Welcome Wayne You need not worry - Well have you back on your feet in a hurry Healing time seems much faster here - It puts a smile on my face - Im so happy Ive chosen this place Nursing Assistants and Nursing staff may - let you in on a secret You come first- It doesnt matter which day West side 3 is the best - Its true I can say - Perfection at caring and compassion in every way Whether 3 to 11 - 11 to 7 - or 7 to 3 shift it might be - There all wonderful people, Thats what I see A special breed of people all trained from the same mold It doesnt matter whether they are young or they are old A smile on their face A question at hand - Is there something you need ? What Waynes trying to say, I hope you can understand All kind and compassionate Efficient and true - I look at life different now, No time to be blue Nurse leaders I commend you, Your direction has paid off - Your staff so persistent at even a cough So from Room # 7 - Ill leave you and say - Ill remember you always close to Valentines day YOU HAVE ALL TOUCHED MY HEART IN SUCH A SPECIAL WAY ! I have been using GFH since I was about 2 yrs old and have never had any issues until now. I am now a 23 year old adult and was treated like a dirty trash bag. I was made to get up and walk around with a 104.5 fever. I had no assistance while showering even though I had asked for it on several occasions because my body felt to weak to do it alone. I was made to clean myself with no assistance after I had gotten sick all over myself despite the fact I had an IV and could not unhook it. I laid in a bed with my old blood for days cause nurses didnt want to change it. After being stuck with needles 37 times with collapsing veins I was told to "suck it up and get over it". One nice nurse had brought me a fan for when my fevers would break and my body would lye soaked in sweat. Without asking they gave it to my roommate and I was left in my sweat. It got to the point where my old pediatrician came to visit and she told me " In the 18 years I have worked in this hospital I have never seen that women visit anyone what makes you so gosh d*m* special." Some nurses where rude to me and treated me like I had contracted my terminal illness from drugs. Despite the fact I have had it all my life. Glens Falls hospital did not give me my proper medications I take at home like an anti sickness, or depression medication. When I asked what medication they where giving me I would receive more morphine instead. I felt like a neglected rag. Nurses stop taking my temp. even though I still had one, and my blood pressure. My Tylenol came hours after asked. I signed myself out at midnight because I would cry myself to sleep from the care. I could get my Tylenol at home out of the bottles. This is what happened s when your doctor is on vacation and nurses feel that farmvill and family ball games are more important then your care. I could have died. I have sworn to let my story be heard. Every word is true. I am disappointed and realize there are other people to care for but my experience was one that hurt me forever. I will never receive care from this hospital again especially in the towers. ~Lindsey

I saw Terrence Fina PA in the Glens Falls ER. He seemed very pleasant and eager to help at first, but after these events I realize it was the act he puts on for his patients. He ordered a saline drip for me when it was unnecessary to do so, and had his student doctor practice on my veins! Now that I think about it, I truly believe he only ordered a saline drip so his student could use me as a pin bag to poke. The student hit a nerve in my arm, something that caused me pain for two months after this ER visit. I dont fault him for that, I think Terrence threw him into a situation he was too green to handle. However, one try wasnt enough apparently, and a nurse came in to instruct the student doctor. They said she was a head nurse, but Im not too sure about that since SHE blew out my vein! I had a large bruise on my forearm for weeks. After that ordeal, I was briefly examined by the student doctor (it seemed like Terrence wanted his student to do all his work for him!). I sat in my ER room waiting for the next step, when 45 minutes later the dynamic duo returns. Terrence did not give me a prescription or referral for my problem, instead he told me to use an OTC spray. He failed to mention you can only use it for 3 days. Now my sinuses are blocked and I need surgery! The ENT I am seeing now was appalled that he never warned me about the dangers of nasal spray. Oh, I forgot to mention - because Terrence Fina did absolutely nothing to help my problems (besides giving me a drug store shopping list) I had to return to the ER that same night, several hours later. So, if youre ever in the ER at Glens Falls, make sure you do not get assigned Terrence Fina. Terrence - if you are reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself and the way you treat your patients! (P.S. Student doctor: You were nice and did nothing wrong. Dont grow up to be a bad PA like your mentor.)
