Terrible- if I could give negative stars I would!! The reception desk took over 30+ minutes to check someone in and then it was still a two+ hour wait to be brought back for another 30+minute wait. Ridiculous, I will never come back to this facility. They should look up the work Urgent because the staff and its operators have no idea what it means. Who ever runs this facility should really take the time to look at how its being operated because the whole idea behind having an urgent care is so patients can walk in with relatively minor injuries or who cant be seen by their primary and get the fast service they deserve. No I am not meaning dont give good quality service but atleast have enough doctors and nurses to allow patients to be seen smoothly and urgently. They also need to take a look at priority. Is a sick person who is showing no immediate signs a priority over a child who has blood coming through a gauze and can barely walk. I cant wrap my head around how this place is still running, and then I remember its because parents like me have no choice when they work full time jobs and have no other choice. Sad, ridiculous and next time Id be better off with Web MD.

My daughter fell 18ft out of a tree, she appeared fine with the exception of her wrist hurting (I was there for X-rays) - when we told the admitting receptionist what happened, the staff went into panic mode; neck brace, mention of it being a trauma case, "she cant be seen here", no X-rays or attention to her wrist whatsoever = the opposite of reassuring their patient. They sent her in an ambulance up to Syracuse, but before that they put an IV in the same arm whereas her wrist was hurting (which was later found to be broken)... when we got to Upstate the drs there told my daughter "whoever put this IV in, next time they try to put an IV in your bad arm, hit them with your good arm" = the opposite of reassuring the parent that they are competent at Convenient Care in Ithaca!

UPDATE: Got a $400 bill in the mail. Paid it. Then I got a $500 bill in the mail. Apparently the first was from the physicians, while the second was from the hospital. So, I had to pay $900 out-of-pocket for a relatively minor injury. WTF. (For comparison, I had to pay $50 out-of-pocket at 5 Star Urgent Care.) Original Review: I cut my hand on a knife, and went in for a tetanus shot. They made me wait 3 hours to be seen, and then told me that I should go home, do some research on the tetanus shot, and come back in if I still want it. (This wasnt them slyly saying that I shouldnt get the shot -- the doctor made it very clear to me that she simply wasnt knowledgeable on the subject.) Isnt that the whole point of going to the doctor -- because they know more than you?

Dont bother with the "fast web checkin". They never call you back. I remember checking in 3-4 times in the past years. IIRC, every single time, they didnt call me back. After calling, they did schedule an appointment each time. IIRC, there was a long wait each time. After the wait is over, they usually provide decent medical advice. Also, they always send 2 bills, one from the facility, and one from the doctors. I think this usually results in twice the expenses for most customers. In contrast, at urgent care (north meadow street), they dont pretend to use appointments to reduce wait times. At least, they give a fairly accurate estimate of current wait times.

Went here a year ago with persistent heartburn and gnawing stomach pain. The assistant who took my stats (blood pressure, temp, etc) seemed inexperienced, but the nurse I saw was very informative. She told me it could be GERD or an ulcer and drew a blood test for H. Pylori. When the test came back positive, they helped me find a primary care doctor for treatment and got me an appointment the very next day. The bill was a little high (250 after insurance), but thats what you get for whats basically an emergency room. I went to the urgent care facility; I cant speak for the quality of their other services.

This place is absolutely horrible - I will never return or recommend anyone to be seen here. I went to have an ultrasound to check on recurring ovarian cysts and was told I was dying. The Physicians Assistant ignored my history, did an exam and then proceeded to tell me, without any evidence, that I had a life threatening disease and was going to die that night unless I allowed her to inject me with a slew of antibiotics. When I objected and asked to speak with the doctor she said fine, and that if I were her daughter I would "shut up and take it".

With bleeding going on - the patient was not seen for 4 hrs...asked to sit in waiting room with other patients! After finally PUSHING, I got the patient some help to clean up all the blood and put two pressure bandages on... but there was NO ANSWER of how long this would take - everyone said - I do not know how long. It was 4 1/2 hrs. before he was called in - after that service was excellent but the anxiety and embarrassment and FEAR of waiting with bleeding going on is undescribable - no understanding or help from staff.

We went there when our 4 year-old daughter had a fever of 104. It wasnt crowded but we waited for a nurse practitioner to see us for 2 hrs. I was badly worried while waiting. Then the only thing they did was to check her for strep throat - which was another hour of waiting. Then they let us go after almost 3 hrs. My daughters fever was down to 101 at that time but I could have taken care of her better at home. The bill was 800 - still not sure why.

My birth date 02/12/1957 I have not had any problems with these people they treat me good there a wear of my medical records and do there best to treat me and if I have to wear a gown to be seen doctors ask I be put in a pamper diaper because of possible leaking as well before they see me .the nursing staff is good with doctors request and helps with that.

Terribly slow service with miss guiding information. Dont be fooled by the word convenient I dont think a 2+ hour wait is convenient for any one .... the cmc ER is faster and has knowledgeable doctors. The convenient care will just charge you a large sum of money then send you to a specialist at CMC. To sum it all up its a waste of time to go there.

Be warned, Cayuga Medical bills this service as if it were an emergency room, not a normal walk-in. This could result in very high deductible payments compared to your typical copay depending on your insurance. This is in no way made clear at the time of service. Simple diagnosis of an ear infection cost almost $400!!!!!!!!!

They seem to be doing their best but the only convenient thing about this place is the location. It took four hours for my son to get attention for his broken arm and there were only three people ahead of him. I wonder if they are underfunded and understaffed.
