Other than Dr Fixman who is absolutely lovely the other doctors are rude & condescending! They have a problem with holistic remedies for pets. I myself use natural holistic medicine to treat many illnesses in my family. We only see the doctor when something isnt resolving. Which very rarely happens. These doctors need to look @ holistic treatments for pets. Not everyone wants to poison their pets with chemicals. Dr Mason & her tech had a problem with me applying coconut oil to my dogs eye which by the way after 3 applications his eye was 80% better. Then Dr Mason proceeded to tell us that we go to the doctor for medicine so we should take our pets for medicine. My family doesnt run to the doctor for everything & we rarely need medical treatment because holistic medicine works for us. Last time we took my dog for vaccines because we needed to put him in a kennel. the only vaccine he needed was distemper. They kept trying to push the flu vaccine for him. I refused, where upon I had to hear about how we get the flu vac so should our pets.My family never gets the flu vaccine, weve never had the flu because we believe in nutrition, healthy lifestyle, & naturopathic prevention/remedies. Maybe instead of making fun of people & their own educated choices maybe you should educate yourselves. Check out Dr Beckers pet website. Maybe you could learn something....Btw my dog is 13.5 years old. He only recently started developing issues, I think due to his age. Hes always been healthy & very rarely needs to go to the vet.so we must be doing something right. He also 2 years ago had an intestinal issue that wouldnt resolve with the treatment the vets suggested & told us we might have to put him down. Guess what went home gave him charcoal & charcoal poultice to his abdomen. In a couple of days he was so much better. NOT because of medicine but because of holistic medicine. All my pets have lived very long lives because we care & take care of them.

The entire staff and all the physicians at SPAH are exceptional. Their knowledge and expertise are only surpassed by their caring, personal treatment! I joke with them that I wish my doctors took as much time and interest in me! Its actually very true! They are very accommodating with appointments, they take the time to address your concerns or questions, are clear and patient when explaining medications or at home care and then they call to check on your pet and follow up. They are knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of pet care including training and grooming, and will take the time to teach you or refer you to a trainer/class. I have never felt "rushed" out of the exam room, and always felt I had the Dr. or techs full attention. In my opinion their prices are fair, and from past experience, I feel the care they provide, and the resources they have are much better and up to date than other places. Most importantly, the love of animals that they have is obvious and not reserved! That is the best criteria for an animal hospital, in my opinion!

This is the second time I am using SPAH. My first dog was a patient fir 17 years. Near the end of Busters life they were nothing but kind, considerate and understanding. After Busters death they were compassionate and sent me flowers, pins and also a donation was made made in Buster s name to a rescue shelter. Now 8 years later , I brought my rescue maltipoo , Snow White , back to SPAH. I know the quality of care and I would not take my senior rescue dog anywhere else

I have brought my beloved dogs to South Putnam Animal Hospital for about 15 years, driving 60 miles roundtrip each time. The care we have received has always been best-in-class. The entire team including Front Desk Reception, Animal Care Assistants, Vet Techs, Veterinarians and Management are all very knowledgeable, helpful, thorough and compassionate. I look forward to the next 15 years together with SPAH!

I love this place! They are excellent at following up and call me frequently to check on my cat and dog. Its so nice to experience such a high level of customer service. The vets are very attentive and arent rushing to get to the next patient. They really take the time to listen and answer questions.

My kitten was acting sick and we were given an appointment that same day. Dr. Heiber was wonderful and took her time examining the Kitten and explained her findings. The kitty is all better and I was completely satified with the entire experience.
