It is always a very pleasant experience when visiting Dr. Shepps. I was a patient for about 5 years and left for a year because of insurance changes but could not wait to return a few months ago. I have always been very satisfied with the service and patient care. Apart from being courteous, I find Dr. Shepps to be professional yet friendly and extremely caring, not just about my eyes but about me as an individual. He has always put me at ease and taken the time to explain in detail what’s going on with me, what he’s doing and what I can expect. I recently had two cataract surgeries and I’m extremely pleased and excited about the improvement in my vision – it’s like the sun came out and I can now even see my phone without the use of my glasses. Wow! With regards to his staff and the facility, everyone is courteous, friendly and patient. And while I am never in a rush at any doctor’s office, I’ve never had to wait very long for service – maybe 8-10 minutes maximum years ago. The facility is comfortable and never loud or crowded – so rare these days. So overall, I’m extremely satisfied individual who certainly gets the best service and patient care from a courteous, very thorough and very professional doctor and his staff. Hey, wish you were me right? I think he has room for one more patient…

This places is a total ripoff. My wife went there for an annual eye exam via EyeMed that was supposed to be $10. Prior to the exam she mentioned that her eyes have been dry lately. Instead of giving her the $10 annual exam (which is what we wanted), she had two plugs inserted in her eye. Total due $420. No discussions. No less invasive options given (like OTC eye drops for instance). The old bait and switch. Plugs are not the first line of defense against dry eyes. Drops are. My wife mentioned the condition to see if they could write a prescription for effective drops. They did not. She was told to use the OTC drops. Then the plugs were inserted. I spoke with the Billing Dept the following day (after both plugs fell out mind you) and they refused to resolve the situation. Im taking it up with my insurance provider as a fraudulent claim. I highly recommend you dont use this doctor.

Beware of undisclosed fees!!!!!!!! My wife was a patient of Dr. Rudick for the past 3 years and during her last visit, there were additional tests conducted without her knowledge. A month later we received a bill in the mail that the insurance company denied to make a payment and it was our responsibility to resolve. I tried to explain the situation to the office manager numerous times, but she refused to acknowledge the short coming of their communication. Imagine going to a dentist for a simple clean-up , but getting a root canal and a brand new crown without any consultation... Even the idea itself drives me crazy that these people think they are empowered to do anything and put the financial burden on you as a patient. Terrible practice and very bad communication. I will not let this slip away easily and will seek legal guidance to teach them a lesson...

I have been a patient at this office for about 4 years now, since I work in the building it is extremely convenient. They have always taken great care of me and address all of my concern. Today, October 28, 2015, I ripped my contact and was unable to see. I needed to get a replacement so I can finish up my work day since I left my glasses at home. I called upstairs and asked to purchase a pair to make it through the day. I was advised to come upstairs by Carmen, once I came up to the office she gifted me with four pairs of one day wear contacts (just in case this happened again) and a bottle of solution and a case to keep in desk. All of this took less then three minutes and I was back at my desk ready to complete my work day. Thank you so much for the help CARMEN!!!!!

I have been suffering from dry eyes for many years and have been prescribed drops that incur hundreds of dollars in copays without getting any relief. I was seen by Dr. Rudick, a well known dry eye specialist, who on my first visit diagnosed my problem and recommened plugs. He explained the rational and the procedure. The insertion of the plugs were quick and painless and my eyes have never felt better and I no longer rely on drops. Too bad I didnt do this sooner. Dr. Rudick and Associate Ophthalmologists run a state of the art office and the support staff was professional and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Rudick and Associate Ophthalmologists to friends and family. It was definately worth the trip into the city from Brooklyn.

I have been to quite a few eye doctors over the years (Ive worn glasses since kindergarten) and I can honestly say that AO is the best I have ever been to. When my glaucoma became problematic my former eye doctor recommended AO (and Dr. Shepps specifically) saying, "Hes the best in New York City." And he was right. Now, my glaucoma is under control, and Dr. Shepps also performed a flawless cataract surgery on me. I have seen two other associates at AO at times and also received first-class treatment. The front desk staff are friendly and very efficient, as are the Ophthalmic Medical Assistants. The office is big and bright and shiny and spotlessly clean with all the latest equipment. I cannot recommend AO highly enough.

Based on my experience with cataract surgery for both eyes, I highly recommend Dr. Shepps and Associated Opthalmologists. The deep experience and professionalism of Dr. Shepps, Dr. Talbi, and every member of the staff allowed me to feel relaxed and confident about the surgery. Instructions to me were always easy to understand and follow. The surgery was performed at Mackool Eye Institute, another very positive experience. Dr. Shepps replicated the monovision correction that I had enjoyed for 25 years with contact lenses, and I am delighted with the results -- no need for glasses at all.

I came here several times a long time ago and recently returned having moved back to the city. I found the office to very friendly and comfortable, very well equipped, never crowded and extremely efficient. Dr Shepps too was clear, efficient and straightforward. He did not waste a lot of time, but he did take the time to explain things clearly and answer questions thoroughly. Also he did not oversimplify or dumb down the information he conveyed, which I appreciate. As someone who has seen a lot of opthalmologists I recommend Dr Shepps and his practice very highly.

Dr. Shepps is a fantastic guy and very knowledgeable with lots of experience and thats why virtually most of my family members have gone to see him every time anyone needs their eyes checked. This was my first time to see him and I had a very positive experience. All the staff I encountered at the facility were great and very friendly too especially Justine who did most of my eye tests before I saw Dr. Shepps. The facility was neat, tidy and everything was so professional. Great first visit and looking forward to my next appointment.

I have been a patient at AO for 8 years. Dr Rudick carefully monitored the development of cataracts in both eyes, and at the appropriate time he referred me to Dr Shepps, who performed flawless surgery in both of my eyes. My vision improved to the point that I no longer need glasses. My experience with AO has been uniformly positive and Ive always found the staff to be professional & responsive to patient concerns. I would have no hesitation to recommend this practice to anyone seeking high quality eye care.
