I read the two reviews already posted on this site, but still thought Id give this place a chance. They are literally RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER from where I live. This convenience, regrettably, could never in any way make up for the level of rude, appathetic service you will receive. I tried calling to make an appointment for myself and my husband. I was told that we are like really overbooked but I can try to fit you in. Oh please, dont do me any favors... I then for 10 minutes endured the sounds of huffing and puffing into the phone when I wouldnt take the time she was offering - (no I cant take time off work to come to your lousy shop on Weds. at 11:15 - who can?!). She finally managed to find two openings on a Saturday, but warned me that we are already overbooked that day so you need to expect to wait. What the? So its kind of an anti-appointment, but I still took it. I gave her our names and contact details. I told her what insurance plan I was with and was told that you dont get that covered with that plan. When I kindly explained that I do indeed got that covered she informs that she she isnt the usual front receptionist so she dont know the insurance plans. Well then, keep your trap shut! A few days later, after securing a time at an optometrist that says things like thank you and yes maam. I called to cancel my original appointment with BVC - to which Im told oh, we dont got anyone with that name scheduled. I hung up and am happy to travel the 15 minutes or so to midtown to go to a professionally run office. So boys and girls, the doctor here may be brilliant, but good luck actually getting in to see him!

Update: Revised to say dr gold was really apologetic about the wait. Made sure to tell me how theyve instituted some changes where theyll text you when your time is close if theres an expected long wait time. I really appreciate the consistent evaluation in what could be improved in patient care. Dr gold also has a great bedside manner. The star is for his staff because they are so nice and personable. The man himself? Maybe hes good maybe hes not but i e been wating for 2.5hrs and still havent seen him... AND theres still a patient before me. If i could get a refund from insurance and go elsewhere for my eye exam i would.

I was shopping around for a new pair of glasses, and although I had read the other reviews, I thought that I would give this place a chance. How bad can the service be? Well, I found out how horrible it was. The lady who was servicing me (as well as the other helpers, it seemed) was awkward, rude, and in the end actually extremely hostile. I have no idea how the place stays in business. It seemed that the optometrist was nice, but the service lady seemed like she was out to get me. Do yourself a favor and go to all the other neighborhood vision stores and save yourself the frustration.

This office is usually busy and now I know why. The service is beyond exceptional. The doctor and staff truly care about your experience and make sure that your needs are met. I wasnt rushed like most places do. The doctor took his time with me and was very thorough with the questions i had for him. The front staff are super sweet and always welcome me with a warm attitude along with a great sense of humor. I actually had a fun experience and cant wait to go back. If you want great service, nice selection of frames and reasonable prices this is the place to go!!!!!

I truly am grateful to have found this vision center for my contact and eyeglass needs! Dr. Gold and his team of professionals are the best in the land! They go the extra miles to ensure that their customers vision needs are fully met, and that you leave with a big smile and full satisfaction that your vision needs have been met! Youll also have a few laughs with the entire staff during your visit! You can not go wrong with this location for all your vision related needs! I will definitely be back, coming from a repeat customer of more than 5 years now!

I went here after a long day of work. While I am sure the staff and Dr had been there for just as long as I had been awake, I was still met with an upbeat attitude that I have never experienced at any other eye doctor. A staple in the community, this is going to be a place I will be giving my business to for as along as I am in NYC. For those of you who are also looking for frames, they are very affordable and Dr.Gold has his own non-profit organization to support communities that do not have access to eye care. Bring your business here.

The Broadway Vision Center is one of those places where you enter and automatically feel welcome. The staff are caring, helpful, and understanding. When you come inside this place you feel right at home because of the surroundings and the people themselves. For example Dr. Gold is able to talk to his patients not only about their vision needs but also about everyday things like stories, jokes, and what things are happing in every day life. Broadway Vision center is a great place to visit and an amazing community to be around on.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Usually people dread going to the doctors about their eyesight or body, but this place makes everything comfortable. Dr. Gold is an amazing person who really cares about your eyesight and will do anything he can to help your situation. The staff is very nice as well, also attentive to whats going on and never unprofessional. As a person with extremely bad eyesight I used to get nervous when going to the eye doctor, but not anymore. Make your next appointment here and you wont regret it!!

I recommend Broadway Vision Center to anyone interested in getting glasses because of the amazing experience I had. Not only was the customer service very helpful but also nice and and answered all my questions to the best of their abilities. And lets not even mention Dr. Gold. He was kind and informative, not only that but he, and other staff members, also engaged in a friendly conversation with me while I waited which I believe makes this place 10x more unique. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AMIGOS!

The staff and Doctor are great, well versed, funny and has been working at this location for over 30 years. He knows both English and Spanish. They also have amazing technology, with machines that photograph your entire eye ball to get a better sense of how your entire eye is working. The doctor is very thorough and he explains what he is doing and why so that you can have a better understanding of your entire eye health. I would definitely recommend this Optical Doctors office to anyone.

I never been so disappointed in a doctors office in my life. I was trying to resolve an issue with a prescription that I felt was to strong and the doctor refused to see the patient. Not only did he refuse he would give a reason to why he wouldnt see the patient again and the security was extremely rude over the phone. Never have I had this experience before and am very disappointed. If I could give no stars I would !!!!!
