Ive come here since May 2015 for a year and a half now based on referral for my now 2 year and a few months old yorkie. Things were good up until August 2016. Staff was nice, prices were reasonable, except that the phone number doesnt work sometimes and it leads you to some scam about winning Caribbean cruises or some number that makes you take surveys. Also, Dr. Kuhlman does not have an emergency number, only a voicemail. Anyways, things were good until this August. I was charged $77 for a wellness exam, thats fine. During the wellness exam, the Dr. Kuhlman said the chance of my dog getting fleas was small and he doesnt need flea medicine. Of course, my dog got fleas shortly after and I just went back a few days ago on Oct 10 to get a heartworm test so I can get my dog Nexguard. When I got the bill, I was charged for a recheck for $60 and when I asked what it was for, the nurse said the vet "looked him over" - "him" being my dog - which the vet DID NOT do. My dog got weighed, and we consulted with the doc on heartworm and flea medicine, did the heartworm test and thats it. So I paid anyways. Besides, if it was a recheck, doesnt that mean he didnt do his job right and I should not be charged EXTRA for him to properly do his job again?! And IF he had checked my dog right, he would have found the suspicious mole I found a few days later. So I went home and found a suspicious mole two days later and tried to call the clinic to set an appointment, again, I got various results when I called, once to take some survey that will win me a cruise trip, once to some internet company. This ends my long trek to Gramercy Park Animal Hospital, yes Dr. Kuhlman seems nice, and hes had yorkies before so I trust him, and the staff is patient and nice, but something happened and I am not comfortable bringing my baby there anymore!

Dr. Kuhlman is Biscuits main doctor for 11 years since he was born. Biscuit is a French Bulld dog , pure breed and come from a line of World Champions. Dr. Giacolone is the main surgeon there and he is quiet awesome with taking care of Biscuit and explainging things in a very detailed and straight forward manner and is very sincere and honest. Dr. Kuhlman us a doctor with tremendous history of taking care of all types of dogs and cats and he is very good with French Bull Dogs and al Bull dogs for that matter. They all know the issues, how to manage them with the lease issue coming up for the dog. Biscuit is not well and has had 4 seizures, at age 11 in 5 weeks. He is very healthy physically but we believe his seizures are only going to continue although I would like to see them cease. Biscuit also has a ulcer in his cornia and is having problems seeing in his right eye and is not healing. The doctors and staff and receptionists have been there a long time and are go through tremendous care to take care of Biscuit. They love him and care deeply for him and are also helping me handle this awful time and manage the costs so it doesnt break my bank account. I will always come back to Dr Kuhlman and his staff when I have another French Bull Dog. I just want the pet owners to know that Gramercy Park Animal Hospital is really the BEST in NYC. They are all extremely caring, professional, compassionate and dont kill you with fees and the unnecessary medications just the right stuff! Thank you Doctors and staff! James and Biscuit!

Dr Kuhlman diagnosed my cat with diabetes after another vet had failed to do so. (East village vet.) I got insulin for her and injected her twice daily which turned out not to be as hard or as expensive as I thought it would be and she lasted another 8 years on insulin. Dr Kuhlman was so sympathetic and kind to my old cat. When she finally died they sent me a sympathy card. This is a wonderful practice and well worth the waiting.

I waited over an hour after my scheduled appointment time. The office staff was not very friendly or efficient. When charging me the bill, the lady was on the phone and just gave me a total number without even showing my what the amount was for. Overall, a poorly run operation and I do not plan to go again. One of the worst vet experiences in my life.

Have taken my 15 years old Weimeraner to them several times. Each time, they were caring and sensitive to his issues. When he was diagnosed with a tumor, Dr. Rubin was careful to present all the options available and discussed financial aspects of each treatment. Something I had not had a vet do prior. They have assembled a great staff here.

Dr. Kuhlman saved my dear cat Nicholas life. He is a very good diagnostician, and also warm and kind. Nicholas spend 4 days at Gramercy Park because of a urinary blockage. The whole staff, including the other veternarians there took very good care of him, and he came home a very happy, healthy cat. He continues to thrive.

Dr. Kuhlman is a wonderful man. My dog at 17 passed away almost 2 weeks ago. It was heartbreaking for me and Dr Kuhlman was very understanding , kind and compassionate. .He was always great with her. First vet she ever liked. And the office staff are so kind and terrific!

I have a chronically ill dog that Dr. Kuhlman has been helpeing keep alive for 3 years now. If not for his knowledg, guidance and methodical treatment, my sweet girl might not be with me. I dread the day he retires.
