I didnt even see the doctor until an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment and for the time and attention he took with me Im not sure why he was running behind schedule. He removed a mole that had been giving me trouble and as he injected the area to numb it (without warning) I winced and said, "ow" to which he responded, "it doesnt hurt." Really sensitive guy with great bedside manner. After he was done he didnt give any care instructions and I didnt think to ask at that moment because I was nervous about the removal process. Staff is cordial at best but seem bothered to even be there. Definitely not going back and certainly dont recommend.

Dr. Shapiro is a very thorough, professional and meticulous dermatologist who is excellent at what he does. Ive had nothing but great experiences each and every time Ive visited dating back to 2012. I highly recommend his practice for annual skin check-ups and more serious skin issues.

I met Shapiro at Advanced Dermatology in Fordham and he knew how to talk to his patients, he was fast and thorough and made me feel extremely comfortable. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my face. Following him to Vanguard to finish my sessions!

Very unpleasant experience, he was not focused, accused me of making up a symptom and jabbed me very hard and painfully with needle for numbness. 2 stars are for the very kind staff ONLY!
