This practice seems money hungry and I did not like it. It was my first time going to this practice and the wait time was not long at all. The doctor was great and so were the assistants who helped perform some of the exams before going to see the doctor. The receptionists appeared nice at first and I went to the counter twice and stood behind a person that was being helped. After they were finished with the person in front of me they watched me stand there instead of asking how they could help me..it doesnt take a scientist to figure out that Im standing in front of your desk for a reason. The receptionist kept telling the doctor that I had two insurances and I kept repeating that one of the insurance was from a job that I left over 6 months ago and they kept going with thats my insurance. The second time I went to the front desk I asked if I have a copayment because after sitting I start thinking I have never went to a doctors office where I made payment after services. They lady told me my copayment is $30.00 and I pay before i leave. After seeing the doctor they had me meet with this guy about glasses and he asked what he could help me with and I told him nothing I came here for a routine checkup. After waiting for about 20 minutes after my eyes being dilated I saw the doctor and she was nice and told me I need a follow up appointment. I went to the front and was told that I need to pay $50. I said for what I thought my payment was $30, the receptionist said well that is your copayment but the exam is not covered and its $20 extra (and shes still at this point mentioning my old insurance) I said ok so if I had exams done today what other exams am I getting done on my next appointment and she was unable to answer me and I said so how much will I be paying next time and she told me the same $50.00. I wish I could take the doctor I saw out this office but unfortunately because of this experience I wont be going back there because it was too much back and forth and they were not straight forward enough for me. Didnt feel like the front desk staff was professional at all and I wish I saw reviews when I first decided to come to this office so here is my review.. they seem to have a lot of patients but I wont be one of them.

Quality care and exceptional customer service. The staff was eager to help and very attentive to my needs. Dr. Wianecka is the best optometrist I have ever encountered. Most optometrists speed you through the exam and are eager to pass you over to the front desk. She was very informative and patient with all my questions. I will be requesting her services for my next appointment. The opticians are knowledgeable, helpful and take the time to make sure you are happy and informed. I would recommend Valley Stream Optometrist Services to anyone looking for a positive eye care experience.

I was very pleased with the service here. The staff was friendly and efficient. All the doctors here are very thorough and take the time to cater to each patient. They have an excellent selection of frames and the opticians were able to clearly explain my insurance benefits. I will definitely be returning to this office and would strongly recommend them!

The minute i walked in, I was greeted by the sweet receptionist. The office was very clean and contained a vast selection of eye wear. Dr. Blum was an absolute delight, she catered to my every need. Will definitely come back next year for my yearly eye exam!
