I dont know who comes up with these bad reviews, but they are definitely not true. Doc is without a doubt the best vet I have ever been to. I started taking my Golden Retriever there when she was a puppy, now 9 years later, I would never go to another vet ever. He is a little bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. He has been a close family friend ever since and I recommend him to anyone. I live in Queens, NY and travel 20min just to go to him. He is also the exclusive vet for world famous magician Criss Angels cat. Doc is the sole reason my dog is alive right now and I could not be happier with his work. I would also like to answer these bad reviews, first off this guy Steve obviously is some sort of person that is against this hospital for no reason. The building is not that small, the doctor is great and there is never feces lying around...ever. Once and a while a dog gets scared and pees or poops on the floor, but the workers clean it up immediately and spray disinfectant. I know this to be true because I have seen this happen many times. I have never had any problems and have had nothing but good experiences at the vets office. Doc has performed 2 surgeries on my dog and both times let me come to the office on weekends to see my dog before she was allowed to be released. He has a true passion for helping animals and I really hope these people that have left bad reviews get some mental help because they obviously need it.

Carmen Ave vet is one of the dirtiest facilities I have ever been to. As new dog owners (we have other animals, but are first time dog owners) we allowed the vet to talk us into keeping our puppy overnight (for 3 nights!) for treatment- meanwhile when we finally found another vet to consult with he confirmed that those measures were excessive and unnecessary. The staff is caring, however the vet himself talks very fast and with great sarcasm. He also talked down to us, trying to confuse us with "technical jargon" which wasnt so technical-- perhaps this is because we are new puppy owners but most likely thats just his nature. His staff seems genuinely caring though, and I suspect they are better than that horrid place. Keep your money and your time far away from this place, you and your pet will be better served elsewhere.

Dr. Larry and the staff have always been excellent, caring, funny and attentive. 20 years ago I brought in my Basset Hound, Otis, who was vomiting for 3 days. Another vet had checked him, gave us medicine and sent us home. I went to Dr. Larry three days later and, like the folks above said, he kept Otis overnight (which I thought was a bit much). 24 hours later Otis was in emergency surgery that saved his life. The other vet had missed the intestinal blockage that almost cost my puppy his life. Twelve years later, Otis passed in his sleep Two weeks ago I brought in my 2 new puppies for care and could not have been happier with their reception and care. I trust these folks with the lives of my furry little boys. There is no better review than that.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by warm smiles, and other fellow pet owners make you feel like family. Facilities were clean. This is very nice place with even nicer people. The doctor was very compassionate to my six week old Pomeranian and very knowledgeable. The animals that come here look well cared for, a sign that people that really love their non-human companions know that this is truly a great place. By the time I was done, I felt really great about taking my new non-human baby girl there. He had all the answers and was very clear what I should be looking for. You need to take your pet here if you are in the area!

I have been with Dr.Blauvelt for close to 30 years. He is the most honest and devoted vet that I have ever met, not to mention his great down to earth personality !! Always there, and available for questions and concerns that may arise. Doc treats your animal as if it were his own. I have refured my family and friends to him over the years, and will continue to do so. I recently rescued a 10 week old kitten that was a mess..fleas, ear mites..etc, and Doc and his staff cleaned him up like new. I am forever grateful for him, and his staff.

Took my puppy here for the first time, and the vet was very persuasive that my dog take Heartgard to prevent heartworms. Concerned for my puppys health, I allowed him. Did some researching later and found out that a blood test for heart worms is mandatory prior to prescribing Heartgard. In the case that your dog already has heartworms, you cannot give him Heartgard as it may cause fatal effects, even death. No bloodwork whatsoever was done to my puppy. Thank god my dog is okay. Will never go back to this place again.

I took my dog for just a check up, and the vet waned to start doing x-rays, even waned me to leave my pet for a few nights just because as he said my insurance will pay for it, nearly $2000 dollars. Im sorry but even if the money is not coming out of my pocket I still think is not right to make claims to my pet insurance for no reason. The vet is very nice the facilities very clean but ethic wise Im not sure. Hate having to leave a bad review but I felt like if I was being ripe off.

I have been going to Dr B. for over 15 years.....Through the years the office and staff have only gotten better!! With the addition of Dr. Tundo last year the experience , care and compassion you receive is just wonderful!! I would recommend them to everyone.....My babies and I travel over an hour to use them , and it is well worth it to know that your kids are in good hands! Love you guys!!

Most dogs hate going to the Vet. Our dog loves coming here. The staff is so nice Daisy does not want to leave. She actually runs to one of the nurses when she comes in the office. They are so helpful and friendly. and of course the Doctor is the best he is nice, funny and very knowledgeable. I dont know what we would do with out him!!!!

To keep it simple doc cares about not only your pet but you as well. the hole staff is great. just a terrific experience weather a check up or something happend and your freaking out. so glad i found them. i dont care where i live im coming here for all my pets. i strongly suggest going to see doc you WONT regret it

Other than my wife and kids , there is no more precious gift than our pooch. I would ensure my puppy to no one else. Dr. Larry is "The Bomb" as my kids would say. Personable and excellent!
