I will forever cherish what Norwalk Veterinary Hospital has done for our family. My dog Maddie was diagnosed with oral cancer in November 2016 after we had discovered a lump in her mouth. After the doctors saw her, the only choice was to have surgery in order to decrease the size of the tumor. The tumor was malignant and we were given confirmation a few days later after blood results came back. Maddie handled the surgery very well and did not lose a step. However, after about 6 months, the tumor reappeared. We went back to the hospital in March 2017 and they had confirmed that it had indeed grown back. The doctor told us that while there were things that could be done, it was best to let her be because she was still eating and still being herself. We went forward with that and Maddie continued to operate normally on a daily basis right on through the summer. One day, Maddie’s tumor ruptured and she began bleeding profusely. We had no choice but to take her back to Norwalk Veterinary Hospital. Vet assistant Monica was kind enough to bring Maddie back in and let Dr. Janice Duffy take a look at her and see if there was anything that could be done. Dr. Duffy went ahead and removed as much of the tumor as she could. She did a phenomenal job and although Maddies condition is terminal, she is giving her as much time as possible. For that, we are forever indebted. Dr. Janice Duffy, Monica, and the entire staff of Norwalk Veterinary Hospital have given our dogs [and my family] nothing short of Grade A care and cordiality since we first stepped through their doors. Whatever time I have left with my dogs, it is because of Dr. Duffy and the incredible practice she runs at Norwalk Veterinary Hospital. If you are in the Norwalk area and your pet needs attention in any capacity, I would strongly recommend that you see them. Dr. Duffy and her staff are great at what they do and on top of that, they are doing it because they have a genuine love for animals, and you sense that the second you step into their office. I am so grateful that I have the honor, pleasure, and privilege to bring my pets to Norwalk Veterinary Hospital, it is a truly consoling experience to take them knowing that I am putting them in the best care possible. I have taken my pets to a number of hospitals in my lifetime, none of them compare in terms of the quality care provided by the staff at Norwalk Veterinary Hospital. As long as I have pets, Norwalk Veterinary Hospital is where I will take them, as should anyone who cares about their special friend.

JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW TO NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR PETS TO NORWALK VETERINARY HOSPITAL on Connecticut Avenue next to the McDs... THEY COULD HAVE KILLED MY DOG! This past week was so scary for my dog Cooper. On Tuesday I got a call from the place who takes care of of my dog during the days while I am at work that I needed to come and get him, he was throwing up and coughing like crazy and shaking. By the time I arrived he was walking sideways eyes rolling around in his head and was becoming more and more unresponsive. My sister and I raced him to the vet. In the car I literally thought I lost him at one point as his eyes rolled back in his head his body went limp in my lap, he became totally unresponsive and I couldnt feel his heartbeat. Turns out the vet had given Cooper the wrong medicine in the right pill container with the right label. Cooper was given 25 mg of a pre-op sedative instead of his normal everyday medicine. When I looked it up it said under the drug facts that a normal sized lab (which is twice the size of Cooper) would be given between 1.5mg to 6mg MAX - AGAIN THEY GAVE HIM 25MG. The vet kept Cooper for the day and at the end of the day they had the gaul to try and charge me for something they considered unrelated to the issue. I asked to have the owner contact me so I could talk to him about the whole horrific situation and it is now 5 days later and I have yet to hear a word from him! They obviously do not care and I will never go back there!!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Charlie Duffy and his practice. I have been bringing my Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs to Dr. Duffy since 2006, when I brought my first dog to him for Penn Hip x-rays (hes one of the few vets who does PennHip in CT). Dr. Duffy is great with pets and people alike, fantastic bedside manner, and he truly does listen to his clients. What I really appreciate about him and his practice in this day and age, is that they dont just try to force unnecessary tests just to pad the invoice. VERY different from all the corporately-owned and controlled veterinary practices who have been bought up, or are part of the mega chains. Dr. Duffy owns his practice, and has no one to answer to but himself and especially, his CLIENTS! He is extremely knowledgeable about orthopedic issues, hes a great surgeon, and after 35+ years of owning multiple dogs, hes simply put the best vet Ive ever worked with.

I brought my cat here three times in less than three weeks because he was having problems peeing. They kept insisting it was a blockage and kept him for three days each time, yet when I brought him home he STILL wasnt peeing, even though they said he was fine. Three different doctors told me three different things in three days the final time I brought him in. Eventually they said the only thing left to do was surgery to remove his private part. I took him elsewhere for a second opinion and they almost instantly told me it was NOT a blockage and sent me home with him the same day with some medication. Hes been fine ever since. I wasted over 1K at NVH for a problem my cat didnt even have. Needless to say I will never be taking another pet there.

Caring staff and reasonable rates. We brought Allie, our elderly cat, here after spending a fortune at the Emergency Animal Hospital in Stamford where we were told our cats eye would need to be removed. Norwalk Veterinary Clinic prescribed medications that saved Allies eye from surgery and improved her overall health. The doctor spent a lot of time with us, patiently answering our questions and thoroughly examining Allie. Knowing we had just spent over $300 on Allies medical care, they charged us a reduced rate for the exam and medications. Very impressed with Norwalk Veterinary Clinic. Most importantly, Allie is too!

The care was compassionate it was a long road back but he is running and jumping like a kid. Thank you all so much Nancy and " Biewens Dow Jones Up" (DJ)

I was there today and waited 45 minutes and no one came to tell me that there is a delay but the receptionist kept gabbing and ignoring me completely. I was the ONLY person here at the time. I have been coming here for 25+ years and the service has gone tremendously down hill.
