Our 5 year old child had an extra tooth growing in the front of his mouth, that needed to come out. Initially, our primary care dentist referred us to another oral surgeon ("Dentist A") to get it done. At that first appointment, "Dentist A" told us that our insurance was "out of network" for their practice, but "thats ok!". That initial consultation, where Dentist A looked at one X-Ray and at my kids tooth, took 5 minutes, and cost $300, of which we paid $165 out of pocket. "Dentist A" recommended another follow up appointment where he would use general anesthesia to knock our kid out and extract the tooth, on an operating table. We scheduled the surgery, and they told us to be prepared to pay $1,300 out of pocket on the day of the surgery, of which $1,000 would be just for the anesthesia. Something didnt seem right to me. I contacted my insurance company (which I should have done in the first place!) and found Dr Schell, who was in our network, and scheduled another consultation with him. When we got to his office, Dr. Schell ushered us right in (no wait at all), looked at the tooth, and recommended administering a local anesthesia (novocaine), and performing the extraction immediately, right then and there. In his opinion, administering general anesthesia was unnecessary for this case, and no follow up appointment was necessary - he could just do it now. I said OK, and Dr. Schell performed the procedure, and we were out of there in 30 minutes! No general anesthesia, no $1,300 payment, the tooth is gone, and the entire out of pocket cost was $185.00 (and the entire cost was $400)! My kid definitely went through a little bit of pain from the novocaine shot, and cried a little, but he is totally fine now. I wish that I had considered other options before I needlessly paid the consultation fee of $165.00 to "Dentist A", but I am so, so glad that we found Dr. Schell, and I am glad that we didnt put my kid child through the process and after effects of going under general anesthesia, to get his tooth out. With regards to Dr. Schell himself - hes a really good guy. Nice manner, explained everything he was going to do before he did it, completely put me at ease. My 5 year old was understandably freaked out for a few minutes as the procedure started, but Dr. Schell, and his very professional assistants put him at ease. I strongly recommend Dr. Schell and his practice.

I first met Dr. Schell many years ago when I was referred by my dentist for a dental infection. I had a tooth problem which progressed very rapidly into serious swelling. I was frightened to say the least. My dentist assured me I would be in good hands and that Dr. Schell had taken care of his own family members over the years. Because of the emergency nature of the procedure the staff took my condition seriously and did an excellent job of getting me prepared in advance to be seen. They fit me into their schedule the same day and make sure I was prepared to go to sleep for the procedure as it was already painful and infected. The entire staff was kind and concerned. The procedure went well and I was not even aware it was done until after I woke up. Because of the prior infection, the doctor had me in every day for four days to check the progress. He did an excellent job and it got better each day. Since that time I have referred several friends from work as well as my family members over the years. Everyone that have I referred to the office have been pleased. Two of my daughters have had their wisdom teeth performed and the recovery went much better than many of their friends. He always calls the evening of the procedure to check on us and he has always been available to answer questions. His staff is very polite and knowledgeable. The office is very clean. We are very grateful for his consistent superb care over the years and are happy to refer people to him without reservations.

Recently, I was asked by my friend if I could be her designated driver for her molar extraction from the oral surgeon. That oral specialist turned out to be Dr. Schell. When we arrived, my friend was nervous, unsure of what was going to happen & a bit cranky since she couldnt eat for the anesthesia factor.... Not too mention, this was her very first visit with this doctor and he was about to perform oral surgery on her. So her nerves were at peak. However, from the moment we walked in till the moment we left, we were (both) welcomed w/ open arms. I have, literally, never experienced such compassionate, professional & genuine concern from a medical staff, as I did at Dr. Schells office. And I wasnt even the patient! They answered every single question either of us had for them, (and I asked a borage of questions). When he first described the extraction, I wondered if we maybe needed a second opinion. But Dr. Schell explained the procedure, at least 4 times until I was comfortable with her going under, and never got impatient with me. The staff kept me informed, the entire way through it and when she was done, the doctor came out and spoke with me in detail as to how it all went. He was pleasant and confident in the work he had just done. And thanked me profusely for bringing her and caring enough to ask questions. As well as thanked us for our business with them. And they even called my friend just to check on her, the next day. 5 ⭐️ and 2

Outstanding oral surgeon!! Doctor Schell is the dental specialist that other physicians send their own family members when needing the absolute best. I was referred to Dr. Schell by my dentist. Due to some serious prior health conditions and its effect on my teeth, I found myself in extreme need of a very high caliber and extremely skilled dentinal professional. My dentist is one of the best in the field but he knew my immediate needs were beyond his expertise. He also knew this was precisely the job for Dr. Schell, the surgeon’s surgeon!! Among the several problems was a wisdom tooth that was in a precarious and dangerous position that also included a large cyst that protruded deep into the jawbone. This growing time bomb of a medical situation was left untouched by other oral surgeons for over 30 years because of their lack of confidence that such a risky surgery could be safely performed. Dr. Schell explained the situation very clearly and with great patience. The surgery was performed quickly and painlessly and was followed by a fast healing. The after surgery follow up, personally from Dr. Schell, was also outstanding and something that seems to be quite rare in today’s busy world of medicine. This is one top notch doctor and he is certainly recognized as such within the field or oral surgery and from his peers. Ronald Schiera

I wanted to thank Dr. Schell and his great staff of nurses for the excellent care they provided me in his office. I was recommended to Dr. Schell by several coworkers at my job. They had all been extremely pleased with the care they had received for the extractions of teeth. My dentist also had great things to say about him and told me that he refers his patients to Dr. Schell as well. This made me feel very comfortable with the office. I went to his office for a consultation for dental implants and he did an excellent job explaining everything in detail. I was impressed when he gave me several copies of published articles on dental implants, in which he was the author. He also has a website which was useful and had more detailed information on Oral Surgery and implants. It also had sections on his background. They did a great job of the procedure and anesthesia , it was the best experience I have ever had in a dental office. The healing went great and within a few days I was feeling back to normal. After several months I was given the OK to see my dentist for the completion of my implant treatment. The dental implants have worked perfectly for more than a year now and I highly recommend this office especially for implants. My dentist told me he has an excellent reputation in the community, and has even treated my dentists family.
